It was purchased from a local estate sale and it is in as found condition which is good. I believe the wood is maple. The finish on the wood has aged. VERY STURDY. HAS SOME SCRATCHING AND A SPOT ON THE TOP OF THE BACKREST WHERE THE WOOD IS CHIPPED, AS IS EXPECTED FROM A USED CHILDS SCHOOL DESK, REALLY IS IN GREAT CONDITION. I am not certain of the exact age or origin ... moreof this chair. But it appears to be mid 20th century. I believe 50s or 60s, but I am not an expert, could be older. It is solid wood construction with a solid wood desk top. The steel hardware and wood fittings are all in good shape and the chair is tight and serviceable. Its original finish shows obvious signs of wear and regular use and was probably in a public school environment in its day. It measures about 341/2" high overall with a 18" wide and a 18" seat to floor height. As big as the seat is I suspect it could have been in a High School. An average adult can fit in this one just fine. This chair is able to be shipped. But is also available for local pickup. Pickup in Northwest Ohio or contact us to make other arrangements. It appears both desks are made of oak. They measure about 14 inches to the bottom of the seats. The desk with the top that has the ink bottle inset is starting to peel. The steel bracket does move the top up and down and forward and back. It is missing the handle for the bottom drawer. The other desk is missing the drawer. The desks do not have any marks or labeling that indicates they are made by Milton Bradley. So this is really a guess. My father purchased these in the late 1960’s. And re-finished them as a project. They were made for the Junior High School in Shelton Washington in about 1930. We have about 4 that are put together. $50 each. If you want multiples to put together yourself. Antique/ Vintage School Desks Wood seats and desk top with metal sides as seen in pictures. This are roughly 100 years old and have been in my family for over 50 years. They came from a Racine or Kenosha. Wisconsin school. The desks come in two parts. One part is two desks with two chairs. The under shelf of one of the desks is missing. Second part is a folding chair. All three chairs fold up. The height is roughly 28" at the highest point. Desks are about 21" wide and length is about 58" long with seat folded. PICK UP ONLY! I donated my truck to charity so I can't deliver this item. I'm about 75 miles north of NYC in the beautiful Hudson Valley.
