Fantastic Chippendale Style Walnut Drop Front Secretary Desk Very Very Nice
This listing is for a Fantastic Chippendale Style walnut( I think and am not 100% sure) and fancily veneered vintage Drop Front Secretary Desk with Ball and claw Feet and shell style carvings. 36 inches in overall height. About 16 inches overall depth at widest point of legs and 22 inches overall width again at widest point of legs. Brass lock and hardware but no key. Brass hinges and other hardware. Exotic veneer work. Two drawers. With hardware on one drawer broken and missing in part. Should not be very tough to find replacement hardware. I might be able to assist the buyer in doing so. Drop down door reveals a writing surface roughly 19 inches wide and 14 inches in depth with two drawers and 5 compartments worked in the back. Very elegant. Most definitely made by one of better furniture makers. Spray Stamped"546 Desk" in black ... moreon the underside. Manufacturer unknown. In Great vintage condition.There is a small chip on the back corner, approx 3/8 of an inch, that is not noticeable to the naked eye. there are few very small surface scuffs here and there, maybe 10 to 12 at maximum none bigger then 1 or 2 mm by2to4mm all of which should be easily touched up to an invisible. When desk is closed there appears to be what looks like a surface burn mark which I am not sure if it actually is a surface burn mark or part of the grain as no damage can be observed under magnification. Gorgeous piece. I hate to let it go, but I'm moving and need to downsize! Circa 1900 secretary I believe is walnut. maker unknown. This was more of a middle class piece rather than a fine piece in it's day, so I was told by the dealer. It is solidly constructed, and stands 93" tall including pediment. it comes apart into two pieces making it easier to move. the top cabinet with glass doors is 62" tall and is rather shallow at nine inches which is nice if you don't want too bulky a piece. the bottom stands 31" and is 18 inches deep at the top, the cabinet being 15 inches deep. it is 38" wide. With desk folded down it is 23" deep. It has some insect gouges, I guess you might call them and other flaws and some wear. Pediment has been repaired. but you can hardly tell. Antique Walnut Slant Front Drop Lid Secretary Desk with Bookcase Top
There is no reserve on this really beautiful antique walnut slant front drop lid secretary desk with bookcase top. The bookcase top has 2 shelves above the base of it. The desk is 80 inches tall. 39 inches wide, 17 inches deep. There are 2 dove tailed drawers at the writing surface level, one on either side of the 8 divided storage sections. The writing surface is in good condition. When the drop is open it is supported by 2 wooden boards that pull out under it. When the drop is closed, you can access 1 long dove tailed drawer and below the drawer 2 doors open to a base with 1 shelf in it. All the brass hardware is original and in good condition except a repaired handle on the left side of the bottom of the base. Excellent condition. Buyer must arrange and pay for pick up and delivery.

Vintage Kling Furniture Secretary/Desk. 77" tall x 17" deep x 33" wide. In beautiful condition. Has normal signs of age; a few nicks and scratches and a very tiny chip in veneer at corner of the top drawer. Drawer pulls have been replaced. The outline of the original pulls can been seen in the finish. This is a collectible. Original brass pulls can be gotten to increase the collectible value. As is, insurance replacement appraisal is $1,200. Made in 1930-32 by Frewsburg Furniture Co in NY. Frewsburg was a wholly owned subsidiary of Kling and one of several furniture companies making furniture for Kling. This piece was one of the first made for Kling and still has the Frewsburg Furniture Company shipping label on back which further verifies the date the piece was made. All of this has been confirmed with Jim Kling of Kling Furniture.

Welcome Today's listing is for a 1950's Walnut desk manufactured by the Central Desk Company in Chicago. Illinois. The desk drawer faces and typewriter compartment door are constructed of solid Walnut as well as all of the frame pieces. The top and side panels are Walnut veneer. Originally the desk was all the same color.blah. Boring and normal. I decided to refinish the top to remove unsightly scratches and a water stain(probably from a potted plant) clean and recoat all of the panels, drawer faces and door and paint the frame pieces, bases and hardware black with a low sheen lacquer. On the right hand side of the desk is an old typewriter roll-out and lift compartment.
