But it will really always be"Grandpa's writing desk" Unfortunately my seller is downsizing their home and grandpa's desk needs to find a new place to go. It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. You can see it in the photos. The interior is plain with no shelves, drawers or cubbies. Here's a quaint reminder of the days before there were no cell phones. Only land lines. This is an antique fall front or drop front desk, and it's rare to see one this small. It was made by the Imperial Furniture Company in Grand Rapids, MI, probably in the 1920s- 1930s. The front pulls down to serve as a writing area. With a pen holder mounted inside. It has a removable back so you could put a land line phone in it and the cord would not get in your way, with space for a telephone book and a pad of paper. It looks like it originally had two dividers inside as well as a drawer underneath, but the drawer and one of the dividers is missing. There are a couple of scratches and scuffs here and there, but is otherwise in very good condition. Measures 48" tall x 20" wide x 13 1/2" deep.
