Style, etc) to hang it on without any success. The reason being- I really like it. It's a dandy. It's un-restored. Hardwood(not quite sure which) The iron is semi-ornate foundry quality. The wood resembles gun/rifle-stock. I'd like to tell you more about it if I could. If anyone can offer additional info. I'm all ears(and eyes) please do. Dimensions are(at furthest points) 30" Wide/ 15" High from Top shelf to Bottom of Iron/ 8" Deep. The 2 face surfaces. Antique 1930's Solid Walnut or Maple Executive Desk( Lawyers Bankers Desk) by LINCOLN Desk Co This auction offers you the opportunity to bid on a solid walnut or maple executive size desk in very good original condition. It was made by the Lincoln Desk Company in 1936( I believe) as the patent number is 1936113. The age of the desk is an educated guess going by the patent number. Nice large full size banker or lawyers desk that has 6 drawers in all including the center drawer. With two additional pull out writing boards. No keys to the center drawer but you can change the lock very easily. Original finish on the wood and this desk has turned pedestal legs. Minor normal wear, all good solid walnut wood with dove tial joinery and the drawers all open and close smoothly as they should with the exception of the deep file drawer. It is a little ... moretight but closes completely. The drawers all have original brass pulls. Overall dimensions are 60" by 34" by 30 inches tall and I have a glass top for this desk. Nice well made desk back in the days when quality craftsmanship was important to success. Beautiful patina reflects the age of this desk. There is a Lincoln penny or brass insert and a brass patent number on the inside of the drawer that I have pictured. Here is your chance to own a piece of history from an era gone bye. Antique Oak desk circa 1930 from the European Revival Line by Lifetime Furniture
A masculine and substantial heavily carved solid oak desk. Paper stamp says"Lifetime Furniture" which is from the Grand Rapids Bookcase and Chair Co. operated until 1956) 36 1/2" wide by 66 1/2" long and 31" tall. This desk has spent its life. Up until a month ago, in the St. Ignatius Retreat House in Manhasset, NY. which has closed down. St. Ignatius is a Tudor Revival Palace built by utilities and tabacco mogul, Nicholas Brady in the 20's. It was also called Inisfada, meaning Long Island in Gaelic. In 1937 it was donated to the Jesuits. As the photos will show. The doors across the drawers are missing and two of the feet have a small section missing. There are a lot of surface scratches and a couple deeper one on the top. The finish is worn off in many places. The piece dates from Circa 1930-40 and bears the makers label to the inside of the top drawer, PLEASE NOTE IT HAS A COUPLE OF DARK MARKS ON THE TOP AND A COUPLE OF VENEER DAMAGED SECTIONS(again to the top) It is a very stylish piece with 2 drawers across the top and a cupboard below. All of which have brass handles, the cupboard also has a single internal shelf, the desk has a single panel endwith a flat stretcher which joins the pedestal Condition The Desk is 100% sound. This desk is perfect for anybody looking for a work bench or sewing desk. This desk measures about 40" wide x 20" deep x 45" tall. It is in very good condition and is quite sturdy. The builder of this desk incorporated interesting pieces of wood for different parts. There are wooden slats. A sewing desktop and part of a window frame. These various pieces all came together to make an extremely attractive desk. This is a rare piece of antique folk art in wonderful condition! This desk must be picked up in Bloomfield Township. This is a vintage oak desk that belonged to my great grandmother that I know she had in the 1930's. The only stamping is on the back. Please see photos.
