Hand-crafted in England c1860 Mahogany construction Satinwood inlays Brass hardware Hand-cut dovetails Shaped apron Natural wood separations Wear marks. Replaced back feet Sturdy Very good overall condition, This antique bureau desk was hand-crafted in Victorian England around the year 1860. Today the antique mahogany remains as beautiful as ever. With a rich complexion and a striking grain. Satinwood string inlays and flame mahogany crossbanding adorn the fall, providing a lovely contrast. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails and solid brass pulls. The brass escutcheons, while quite attractive, no longer house functioning locks. Each side has developed a separation in the mahogany as part of the wood's natural aging process; these age separations are purely cosmetic and don't affect the structural integrity of the piece. During a past restoration, a line of black stain was applied to these separations to complement the actual dark inlay around the bottom. The fall has also become uneven over the years and has sustained some wear to the corners but remains, like the rest of this piece, very sturdy. Finally there are a number of minor wear marks and the back feet were also replaced during the restoration. Overall this antique bureau remains in very good condition and would make a fine addition to any home or office furniture collection! This gorgeous mahogany bureau was hand-crafted in Victorian England around the year 1860. This bureau contains plenty of storage space. The sides look great. The main structure is satinwood which has a lovely blonde finish to the wood. Whilst into the structure of this has been embedded the amazingly intricate inlay work consisting of floral scrolls, leaves, urns, emblems and other heraldry. The amount of craftmanship that has gone into this is breathtaking if you imagine each piece of design has to be cut from the softer fruitwoods and then embedded into the main structure of the desk. You can only imagine how long this would take to achieve for a piece like this. The term'Carlton House' has become ... morea popular phrase to describe a writing table with a low superstructure that encloses the sides of the writing area as well as the back. The Prince of Wales. Later George IV, commissioned a table of this model in the 1790s for Carlton House. The desk has a leather topped writing area surrounded by small drawers, cupboards and storage areas. There are also five larger drawers to the front of the desk so there is ample storage space on this piece. Each of the drawers also has more inlay work, as do the legs and the sides. This would make for a stylish piece for your home. Offered as it is in perfect condition. The piece also sits on brass castors so it is easy to move around. Very good overall condition, This exquisite flame mahogany bureau was hand-crafted in the Netherlands around 1780. Over the centuries. The mahogany has developed a beautiful patina, so that it now displays a deep, lustrous complexion and a highly pronounced grain. As fine as this exquisite wood appears, ... morethe design itself is also quite striking: the barrel top lifts up automatically as the desktop is pulled out. The interior of the desk thus reveals a series of drawers and a satinwood-striped cabinet door that opens to reveal yet another drawer. Brass pulls adorn each of the exterior drawers, which feature hand-cut dovetails and a key is included which locks the drawers. Although this bureau or"cylinder desk" remains very sturdy and astonishingly beautiful, it has sustained some surface wear, most of which is extremely minimal given the great age of this piece. Both sides have begun developing small wood separations, as has the desktop, while the very top of the bureau has sustained significant scratches. One of the pulls has also lost its ring. Overall condition therefore remains very good. This cylinder desk contains plenty of storage space. The sides look great. The top has sustained some significant scratches. French Louis XV Style Gilt Mounted Mahogany Bureau Plat Early 20th Century. Probably c. 1910-30 Item# 130008GQJ26 Crafted during the first years of the 20th Century. When fervor for antiques of the Louis XV taste were still at a remarkable high, this very attractive French Louis XV Bureau Plat was embellished with great effort. Featuring a solid mahogany top with a molded edge, the front of the bureau plat has a long hand dovetailed drawer for storage, opening to reveal a solid golden oak interior. The keyhole escutcheon is probably the finest bronze mount on the desk, a piece that prominently features the rocaille movement around the fully functioning key and lock. The apron is shapely, the front and back mirroring the flow of the top with a slight inversion in the middle. The cabriole legs are formed with very fine gate, the tapering form ... morenearly perfect in proportion to the table, each surmounted with an intense rocaille Gilt bronze mount with the"C" form featured actively as it curls over the entire knee- a thin reed of gilt bronze continues to flow down the leg into the beautiful Gilt bronze sabot mounts with curling toes. This is a fully functional piece. Not just being a beautiful decorative art, the form being sturdy and strong throughout with a clean writing surface. For decorators passionate about the French Louis XV form, this is a wonderful find. Measurements: 39 1/2" wide x 23 7/8" deep x 29 1/4" high to top of desk; 24 1/8" high to underside of drawer(when sitting) Condition Report: Light dings and chips throughout. Including some loss to the corners of the drawer, a small"dent" in the top and scuffing to the top. Overall very attractive, the typical wear and use abrasions being somewhat limited and the overall desk being quite well preserved. An antique. Late eighteenth to early nineteenth century, English Queen Anne-Georgian(William& Mary) miniature bureau desk on tall legs. The drop front and drawer front have burl walnut veneer. The case is walnut veneered, the legs walnut stained, the stretchers with walnut veneers. The interior has six walnut stained drawers with brass knobs. It measures 34" tall by 19" wide by 14" deep, the drop front 7" deep by 17" wide. Very good condition: original finish, case boards and legs without cracks. Missing the top skirt to two cubbyholes, some veneer chips here or there.

This is a Vintage 1930's to 1940's Slanted Bureau Secretary Desk With Bookcase. Its in worn condition and needs to be refinished and has a lot of dings and scratches. It is beautiful with a slanted desk that pulls down and opens to a beautiful play for stationary. Etc. On top is a glass paneled curio cabinet/ bookcase. It has dove tail joints on the drawers. It has glue from tape that the previous owners used to move it. The drawers are very curvy and have beautiful original pulls.
