The chair measures approximately 12 3/4" wide, 12 3/4" deep. and 26 1/2" tall. The wood looks to be maple. The condition is awesome for used furniture over 80 year old. Some vintage wear, but nothing to diminish the antique beauty. The roll top rolls beautifully. The top cover appears to be restored. High quality. Hard to find swivel chair with very few flaws. Dating from the 1890s era. It is in complete restored condition and all set to go in the home. We take a lot of pride in doing up our antiques nicely, and we certainly went all out here, with our head refinisher Norm doing a job of unbelievable quality on this desk. It has a tiger sawn writing surface in the center, which had to be glued back down as most desks of this age. We also had to re-glue everything, reinforce the roll, sand, strip, stain, and apply multiple coats of sealer and satin sheen lacquer on this hard-to-find 66-inch-wide roll-top desk by the Derby Desk Company of Boston, Mass. If you’ve been looking for a roll-top, and you’d like one to brag about, this one gives you all the bragging rights you’ll ever need. Extremely useable(and fun) with heavy solid wood and no expensive brass to polish. I have used it on a regular basis since I picked it up at an auction in 1971. Condition: signs of wear consistent with age and use. Various use marks, stains and scratches. no keys) Excellent restoration project. Please view the pictures. There was a repair to deal with a weakness in the desk when the roll-top is removed. Several minor repairs are still needed. A vintage Roll Top Desk made of Oak. Circa 1920. We are pleased to present this vintage Roll Top Desk for your consideration. It is made of solid Oak wood and dates to around the 1920's. The Desk has seven(7) drawers. The center one with individual lock, and the others locking when the roll top is down. A variety of nooks and compartments offer storage above the desk surface. The height of the upper section is low enough to allow this piece to be placed in the open, and still offer a view behind the Desk. The back is finished, further assisting an open placement. Keys are included for the two major locks, but missing for the small compartment near the right side(see last picture) The Desk measures 43 inches high. 54 inches wide, and 30-1/2 inches deep. We did not find any marks on it to identify the manufacturer. The Desk can be disassembled ... moreinto several pieces, to ease the task of moving it and particularly to simplify the job of getting it through doorways. Wear is consistent with the age of the piece. Exterior surfaces look quite good with only a few areas of worn finish. The working surfaces including the two pull-outs show considerably more wear as would be expected on a well used piece of furniture. There is no serious damage or issues. And we rate the overall condition as very good. This is a charming example of the classic Oak Roll Top Desk. With the added flexibility of a finished back allowing it to be placed in the open, as well as against a wall. The piece is in great shape and has dovetail joinery on the drawers. The piece disassembles into the 2 drawer towers. Top section and rear center back piece. Recently lowered tambour and one slat has torn canvas which will need to be repaired. It has been refininshed but the original label on center pull out drawer has original label. the roll top it beautiful and the backing cloth is solid. there are a few knicks and stains about. But it has great colors and pattern. I have moved into a smaller house so it has to go. It is now located in richmond virginia. uship would be a value way to get it where it needs to go. the drawers slide well the file dividers are all in. Vintage Antique 1900's Tiger Oak Rolltop Desk - Original Finish - NICE!!
For your consideration. I have an antique tiger oak roll top desk from the early 1900's. This has the original finish- has a one inch hole at the end of one of the slats on roll top. It is 60" wide and 34" deep. One of the drawers inside needs the front reattached to drawer. This is in great condition with just a few imperfections! Great piece of furniture! C Curve Antique 1900's Tiger Oak Rolltop Desk - Original Finish - Bloomington IL
This listing is for an antique tiger oak roll top desk from the early 1900's. It has the original finish. It measures approximately: 50" wide 34" deep 43" high from floor to top of rolltop. 30" high from floor to writing surface. 16.5" wide chair space Lower left side has 3 drawers. Lower right side has 2 drawers-1 is the depth of 2 drawers. Drawer above chair space. Original brass feet. 2 pull-out writing surfaces. Dove-tailed drawer construction. Upper rolltop portion has several cubbies and small drawers. The front of one upper drawer broke and was glued and replaced(upside down) onto the drawer. Comes apart into two pieces for transport. This desk was owned by my grandfather. Be sure carefully examine all pictures. As they are an integral part of the description.
