It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. The information that I received from the appraisal company is as follows: The drop front oak(not quarter-sawn oak) writing desk is a Mission style Arts and Crafts desk; there ... moreis a keyhole in the top of the fall front and a small gallery or backplate on the top back of the desk. There is an"H" stretcher in the middle bottom of the desk and a vertical"X" stretcher on each bottom side of the desk; the legs are quadrant legs; there is one drawer with round brass pulls beneath the fall front. Rochester, NY" with"Moulthrop" at the bottom with another word above it that I cannot make out. The words are worn. There is a small linear crack on the top of the desk in the writing area that you can see in the photos. I cannot ship this item so it's local pick up only, due to the weight. VINTAGE PARIS MFG CO NUMBERED ROLL TOP DESK-NEEDS A LITTLE WORK--PICK-UP ONLY
This is what I think to be a youth's roll-top desk. It measures 19" wide. 30" across and 38" high. Paris Mfg Co, South Paris, Maine, is marked in red on the back of the desk, and it is numbered, No. 840. The pigeon holes are fantastic, and there are curved receptacles for what I suppose would be pencils. I think it is made of oak. It's really in good shape but needs some tender loving wood-worker's care. One of the drawers doesn't open. And the pull-out writing element is stuck but it did come out, I'm just not that handy. Here is a large antique oak desk with drawers and writing slabs. In good vintage condition. There is supposedly some trick to opening the top left drawer and bottom right(file) drawer. But I can't seem to figure it out. It's possible that they are just a little stuck and would move freely if one sanded the sides a little. The oak on the body of the desk is in good shape. LA Historic 1940'S Oak Desk Antique Wood Large Heavy Vintage CA Pick Up
Our Dad is sadly downsizing to a retirement home and must give up this amazing. Historic, behemoth of a desk! Sit down at this amazing piece of LA past, and know you're a BOSS. I rescued it from the mezzanine office of an old warehouse in Silver Lake before it was torn down due to gentrification. I managed to save several and this was the best example, so it came to live with my family- now perhaps yours for it's next chapter. Feet are still wearing the original brass caps, and the center drawer still features the original key! I found this taped inside many years ago, shockingly, but this desk has been used with love. The body of the desk consists of quartersawn oak in a rich medium dark finish, lots of gorgeous reddish browns and many thick, mackerel highlights as well as smaller scaled striping. The top was extremely damaged linoleum ... morewhen found, and we stripped and sanded the top underneath. You could certainly add new old stock linoleum if preferred, but it looks lovely as is. This beautiful relic of a time gone by is actually finished all the way around so you can float it in the middle of the room if wanted. Of note are two stickers denoting it's storied past- this desk once served as a desk at LAPD headquarters and also in the Community Development Department at the City of Los Angeles. The only apology is the pull out writing boards are missing. The desk is a fairly standard size and could be cannibalized from the others that haven't survived in such good shape. Or easily cut out and stained or painted to suit. Dad reports he never missed them on account of the size of the desk, he always had plenty of room to write and do his dictation from, he was a small town pediatrician for most of his life. There are five deep and spacious drawers, one is a false fronted double, in addition to the central pen drawer, with the original insert to separate small things- paperclips, erasers, truth serum vials etc. Please come give this desk a new life! Vintage Classic Wooden Oak Desk & Chair 1950, needs refinishing, pick up NJ
This desk has been in our family since the 1950's. Can't find a brand name of any kind, but this is definitely solid wood, and definitely needs some TLC as you can see from photos. NO deep scratches. Just some sticky staining/discoloration on top mostly, and several small chips on back edge. 4 small drawers. 2 large drawers, 1 wide center top drawer. 47" long. 22" wide, 30" height chair is included This is a decent SOLID piece of wood furniture; we are not handy with any refinishing skills. Adorable Vintage Pre-1911 Desk with Hutch and Chair – LOCAL PICK UP ONLY, NY

A note she had taped to the desk states that it’s made of oak and pine(I cannot verify this) It is painted in an off-white. Streaked technique(which Grandma regrets doing! The bottom portion of the desk measures 28 ½” W X 21” D X 30”H. The hinged writing surface opens to reveal a large compartment. The removable hutch measures 26 ½” W X 8 ¼” D X 19 ¼” H. The front of the desk and the doors and top of the hutch are carved(see picture detail) The chair is included, but may not originally have come with the desk. There are scratches in the paint and wear and tear. You may want to strip it, refinish it and/or reinforce in places. THE WHOLE SET IS BEING SOLD AS IS!
