Excellent condition for its age- a few dents and nicks but absolutely nothing noticeable. The 2 peg guides missing on bottom left drawer to keep it from going in too far- but an easy. Easy fix; had only 1 when I purchased it, and have left it like that the entire time I've owned it. Center drawer on left side is file drawer; all drawers are dovetailed and wood sides. Back, Bottom. Thiers a metal sign on it that says robert w. irwin company grand rapids in side one of the drawers it aslo has lots of scrapes scatches some tares, but tares are visible on a couple of the drawers,and im missing one of the knobs, also one knob is broken and thier are 4 screws missing also but i hope you,ll find it desk useful as antique desk are of some value i here im just not a antique kind of person. i liked it because i was able to display my picture under the glass very neat! pickup only.

Desk dimensions: 20" W x 13" D x 28.5" Tall-small and compact design. Chair dimensions: Seat is 19.5" Tall and 12" x 12" The chair back is 24" Tall. The desk has a 3.5" opening for storage/ telephone book. The chair has a needle-pointed seat cushion with a flower design-all made by hand. The desk/ chair set can be used as a child's desk or as a telephone center. These pieces do have loose joints that need a little TLC. Antique 1900-1950 Slant Drop Front Oak Secretary Desk - Lionhead
I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite like it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. This desk has a drop-front opening with two inside drawers and four envelope/letter slots. The front of the secretary has two full pull-out drawers. It has spindle legs. This is a very unique desk. Has a black satin paint that is in good condition, the top as well as the drawers are solid black walnut. This desk is too beautiful to be sitting in a dark room where no one appreciates it's beauty. Made by Maddox Tables. Jamestown, N.Y. It has a paper label on the back with a"Mad Ox" over a shield that identifies it as a true Maddox Tables piece. Hepplewhite desk,mahogany with inlay, with fold out writing surface(sliders intact) Vertical tambours are in perfect condition(the sliding doors) Cubbyholes and drawer inside. Two full sized drawers below the writing surface. Excellent condition. 41 1/2" tall, 19" deep with 6" fold out writing surface, 35" wide. Label in drawer from Mahogany Association, Inc. 134. A similar one online was appraised at $1500.00.

unfortunately the desk was once painted white. Has been stripped and varnished, however, inside the drawer it's a mess. Someonce who loves refinishing this beautiful piece won't have too much trouble.

Antique Roll Top Desk 1900-1950 Dark Wood Tone
This desk was found in a courthouse basement in Arkansas back in the early seventies when my father was county Judge. Have tried to locate any information on it but not very successful. Locks on it were made by Eagle lock Co. which went out of business in the early fifties. I've seen refurbished desks of this style listed for 1500.00. There are a few loose and missing pieces from drawers that can easily be replaced. Cable is detached from right side of roll cover. Has been used in a home for 40 years and not stored.
