There is a little card in the drawer from 1967 that could have been ... morefrom an antique store or a repair store. The bottles are ever so slightly turning amethyst in my opinion. One has the entire top part loose but can be easily attached. There is also a line in the crystal(these are pretty heavy) that might be something going on in the glass. It looks like an inner crack on the top part and then there is somewhat the same type line on the bottom part as well. The other one is in better shape. Still. These are really really old and thus the blemishes. The inkwell has black paint on some parts that is wearing but I think that is all original. The drawer opens and closes. There are some dings and such but I think the picture tells a good story. The contents of this storage unit were from Sweden, and so if you look on my other auctions you will see the antique finds that were found with it. Thank you. And the word“LYON” embossed onto the drawer ... moreassembly. The finish is a mix of light green paint. And patches of dark green paint, and a fair amount of rust spots throughout. The drawer assembly is grey. The wooden top is a butcher block style. Some of the pieces of wood on the top are slightly warped or uneven, and as you can see in the photos, the finish and patina of the wood top is very patchy and has various shades of wood colors. The right end of the wood top is a lighter shade than the rest of the top– it was sitting outside with another table covering most of it except the area on the right, and is a bit faded. Here is a beautiful child's desk& chair set. Somewhere between 1900& 1940. This is a small version of the larger ones made then. Picture#8 shows some letters& words that I cannot seem to make out. Of what was probably the manufactor. It has the original stain, which has not even been attempted to re-finish. Some think that would ruin this set. Children have definitely used it, for the wear you see, but it is solid and sturdy, and has lots of wear left in it. There are three drawers on the right side, and the top one locks. you may be able to find a key for this, or ask a locksmith to make one. Above the top drawer that locks is a little slide-out board for writing on. There is a large center long drawer too. The chair swivels, and has cast iron framing, with an adjusting center screwing device which allows for the chair height ... moreto be as low to the floor as 14 inches, up to 16 inches, easily. At it's taller setting, the chair is 29 inches tall, from top of back to floor. The seat is 12 5/8" wide and 12 3/4" deep. This is extremely well made, and sure belongs in someone's home with a child who will enjoy and use it. The desk measure 29 inches tall, and is 33 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

It is all cherry with bird's eye maple inlays on the raised panels on the sides and drawers. The top has the most amazing wood inlay. The top has been covered in glass since the day it was made. It has no scratches. The roll top goes up and down smoothly. All the drawers slide in and out smoothly as well. Desk is original. It has never been re-finished. It is 62" wide, 27.5" deep and 46" high. It has been in my possession for about 30 years. We are downsizing and just don't have room to bring this piece along. Looking for good home for its next 100+ years.
