I’m very pleased to offer this rare circa-1950s Duplexalite! But what. You may ask, is a Duplexalite? The Miller Company created a fixture they dubbed Duplexalite. I sell a number of these wonderful fixtures each year(see link below) There is a wide variety in terms of colors. Patterns, and details, but each Duplexalite comprises a single 300W socket, a glass bottom shade, and a large metal shade above. The fixtures throw a lot of light UP, and thus a highly diffused, flattering light quality is the result. You can even find Duplexalites in the White House! However. This Duplexalite is really rare. I have never before offered one so simple. And believe the fixture to be a last generation and dating from circa-1950. Well, I just had to have it! A hidden ring holds the glass bottom shade. The larger metal shade simply sits on the ring. As mentioned. The fixture accepts a whopping 300W bulb(Mogul base) The metal shade retains its original painted finish. And this is a pale beige. The metal components have a slightly coppery finish(also original) The heat from the bulb burned off this finish on the socket housing. It seemed foolish to refinish it, so I simply polished the brass. This will patina down. The fixture is now 37-inches long(and 16-wide) I cannot make it longer. The ribbed edge does have dust in the creases.photo#5 there is old paint there as well. there is also a spot on one side where there was paint as well photo#3. there is either a scratch or crack on the inside of the shade photo 7-where there are 2 lines that are very very thin and do not go thru the glass they are just on the surface. otherwise for the age it is in great shape.measures 12/14 inches wide at base and 3 1/4 high. the center indents about under 1 inch. this item is quite heavy. it either goes ups or priority till ebay gets parcel post up and running. Impressive chandeliers I’ve ever offered, and abounds with amazing details: 1) The finial! Wow! Instead of the standard glass sphere. This chandelier has an intricate glass spear! Wow! 2) The five glass S-shaped arms have notches cut into the glass. 3) There are five additional arms which leap into the air. These hold a glass(not plastic! ring. The ring in turn holds double strands which swag out to the other arms. Elegant. Stunning! 4) The candle covers are not plastic. Nor cardboard. They are glass! Yes. Glass! I’ve never seen this before! 5) The glass bobeches(the disks under the candle covers) are unique. These are normally bowl-shaped but the bobeches here are more plate-like. And each has lovely details cut into the glass. 6) The candles sit in glass cups. And these, too, have lovely details cut into the glass. 7) Above the intricate glass stem is a large bobeche. And from this hangs alternating strands of short/long glass drops. The chandelier is impressive. Too, in its scale: it is 22-inches wide. The vertical wire is new. And cloth-covered like the original. By some miracle. The fixture is totally undamaged. There are no chips or cracks. This aesthetic was relatively short lived. And reached the height of its popularity in the late 1930s. Emerald City. In the movie Wizard of Oz. Is Moderne gone Hollywood. Many lighting fixtures labeled Art Deco are more accurately Moderne. Incredibly. This fixture was never installed and is still in its original box. Wow. Virden produced the fixture from the late 1930s through the 1940s. I have sold the fixture previously but never. Never in As New condition. It is like time travel. The shade is aluminum. A metal that was the acme of modernity in the 1930s. The shade retains its creamy finish, and with gold edging. In the center of the shade is a highly detailed glass disk. The fixture accepts a 150W bulb. And the shade throws much of this light towards the ceiling– offering a diffused and flattering

Please also note the original brass finial ring and its scalloped edge. I love these details. The fixture accepts four 60W bulbs. So. Beautiful and brilliant. This is an incredibly rare(and stunning! fixture. That it retains all its original components is also remarkable. To me. It is a great thrill discovering such a fixture. Wholly restored and with new sockets and wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts four standard base 60W bulbs. COLOR: The shade has a white finish. Green leaves, and sorta salmon-colored flowers. The stem is white, with gold, and sorta raspberry flowers. SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 9-1/2-inches and is 16-inches wide. CONDITION: The shade. And porcelain stem, have no chips or cracks. The shade has a scratch on its inner painted finish(see last image) You cannot readily see this when the fixture is unlighted. Lighted. The scratch is more noticeable, and with tiny tiny pin dots of clear glass showing. The porcelain sockets and wiring are new. The cream paint on the ceiling mount has been renewed. I’m very pleased to offer this glittering surface-mounted crystal chandelier! The fixture is distinctive in having no chain. It attaches directly to the ceiling. This makes it ideal for a room with a low-ish ceiling. The overall height of the fixture is 20-inches. And that includes the glass sphere ... moreon the bottom. The width is 15-1/2-inches. As such. The fixture is ideal for an average- to small-sized room. Of note are the lovely cast brass rosettes which curl up from each arm. I also like how the hanging crystals are confined to the ceiling canopy. The fixture is high-quality. I believe the fixture dates from the 1930s or 1940s. The fixture is really unusual. I have never offered one like it! Wholly restored and with new wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts candelabra base 40W bulbs(not included) The brass originally had a gold lacquer finish. This is worn. Giving the fixture an attractively mottled, aged look. COLOR: Brass. Glass. SIZE: See above. CONDITION: The only issue is that one bobeche(the glass bowls under the candles) has a crack. This is really hard to see(I only noticed after removing the bobeches to wash them) The porcelain sockets are original with new wiring. The candle covers are new.
