This is a FANTASTIC and REALLY HEAVY vintage metal pair of GOTHIC or Medieval Double Candle Wall Sconces! REALLY IMPRESSIVE! The two candles are on an ORNATE SCROLL piece that extends out 4" and is 1" by 1/2" thick. They are very HEAVY! packed weight is 20 lbs! VERY ORNATE with four arrows and scrolls! This is very THICK metal! This piece is 10 1/4" wide and the scrolling is nearly 3/8" thick! It extends from the ORNATELY DETAILED back plate 4" and the candle holders size is 4 5/8" so you can use any candle up to that size. It also has a 1/2" rim around the candles. The back plate is LONG and measures 24 3/8" and is 5 1/8" wide and 1/2" thick. The design is in relief- or raised from the back. The design is a tall tree or plant with ORNATE scrolls. Flowers and leaves coming out of it and ... morethe base is a pedestal vase. There is a large flower on top too. The back is a black velvet like material and has two holes for the nails on top. Great condition with no breaks or dents and only a slight discoloration in the metal at the top corner of one of the sconces and a dot on the other one done when made. Some tiny raised areas but also done when made. Not noticeable. I apologize for not being able to really capture the BEAUTY of these sconces but it seems although I took a LOT of photos the full length ones came out dark on the bottom light on the top! For your consideration is this great vintage pair of porch light sconces in great condition. This wonderful pair of lights is made of cast aluminum and beautifully detailed casting. Note the hammer marks and detail on the axe and hanger. This pair of lights measure 14" tall by 5 1/4" wide and stand out from the wall 7 1/2" The sconces have their original textured glass shades. One of the shades does have three chips around the fitter mouth, it does not affect them holding in the fitter and does not show when the sconces are together. The sockets are porcelain, the original wiring appears to be in good condition. The original finish is in great condition, there are a couple of places that are showing their age, these are pictured. Up for consideration is a fine set of 7 double arm bronze Gothic/Tudor/Medieval wall sconces. The sconces measure 14 1/2 inches tall 9 1/2. They are bronze with two arms with a back plate that has a variety of themes. There is some panther heads that are peeping out from behind a shield. There are some Art Nouveau type floral embellishment in the center. A Gothic stained glass window type back drop with a winged Gargoyle on the bottom. Some of the sconces have a blue backplate and a few have a burgundy color. Both look to be original coloration. Two other sconces have been painted and sometime in the past with a silver color and one sconce has been stripped completely of color.These sconces are of nice scale not too big but chunky enough to display in a room with a 10. 12 or 14 foot ceiling. Here is a nice old set of cast iron wall sconces/ candle holders. These are iron(magnetic) and measure about 10 1/2" high. 8 3/4" wide, 5" deep. I believe there should be a candle holder, or some type of piece that screws into each tray to hold the candle, as the piece in each tray is threaded. A great gothic looking design to these pieces. I think the set this was hand painted and is simply stunning All lighting worked when it was taken off the walls. But has been sitting for may years now and will need rewired. Very minimal paint loss on the sconces or hanging light. Please view photos carefully for the fine details on these rare pieces. The hanging light includes the ceiling plate and measures: 19" long from top finial to curved legs on bottom. Then the chain link and ceiling plate extend another 14" upward and the large hanging finial at the bottom extends downward another 4.5" Total length 37.5" Wall Sconces measure 11" tall x 10" across and extend outward from wall 3" I'm missing ... moreone of the gold prisms on the bottom of one sconce. The back plate is made out of very thick wrought iron and the torch is made out of copper. The shades are original to these sconces.
