The large Secretary Desk Bookcase has a half round mirror on the left top side over the desk area and the right top side has a double brass finial and rod gallery over the bookcase area. Everything is completely original except for the mirror which was broken has been replaced. There is a small wood professional repair to the bottom left corner of the drop front lid but that is minor and matches the grain and not noticeable. It has been completely refinished to restore its original Golden Oak finish and ready for your beautiful home. Notice the beautiful quartered sawed oak grain through out the piece and the deep heavy ornate carvings and bead work. What a great piece of furniture. It doesn't get any better than this! There are three shelves in the bookcase that are adjustable. There is one shelf below in the lower double door compartment that locks underneath the desk. Each drawer and door has a skeleton key lock with two keys included. Inside the desk is a beautiful pigeon hole interior and one small drawer with a brass knob. The piece is complete with an open shelf above the drop down desk. The piece is 50" wide. 14" deep, and 80 1/4" or 6 ft. 8 1/4" tall. I assume ... morethey did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. There are 2 drawers on the shelf that were added and not part of the desk. That is why they don't match. It has been displayed in each of our homes for over 50 years. It was always stored on the main floor. Never in the basement or garage. It was cleaned and polished on a fairly regular basis. It has not dried out. We have been using it over the last few years as a computer desk. The second photo was taken by me of is of the original owner in 1959. We are located in Freehold NJ 07728.
