It is Scottish and is dated circa 1870. The primary wood is walnut with burl-walnut decorative elements on the doors. The mirrors are hand-beveled as well as the glass medallions in the side doors. The armoire was entirely hand-constructed and has its original finish. Hardware and glass. Inside are the original sliding brass hooks for hanging clothing. Up for auction is an early American Walnut Wardrobe estimated 1850s. Wardrobe is amazing and has beautiful carvings on the bonnet. It is in excellent condition and has been treated very well. The wardrobe is approximately 9 foot tall and deserves a nice home. It is one of a kind and truly is a beauty. It is authentic and is a piece of history which makes this a very good investment. It is approximately 50 inches across and you can see how well balanced it is. The wardrobe was copied by an artist who is a hand carver of minitures. He found it to be of perfect proportions.
