For sale by auction this superb pair of Victorian parlour mirrors. Hand painted with flowers and butterfly. These have been in the family for a very long time. Genuine Victorian mirrors and a rare example The frames are not original having been renewed in 1978 by my late father in law. The mirrors themselves are in good condition for their age with a little tarnishing. Judge for yourself by the photos and I can send more on request. Postage costs are still to be added owing to the value and the costs are an estimate. They will be shipped to winning bidder carefully wrapped in order to reach you in the same condition as they leave me. If you prefer to collect these yourself let me know and this can be arranged. Antique Wood Frame Wall Mirror w Scenic Painting
Function meets form in this antique 2 in 1 item. In one frame you can find not only an antique mirror. But also a scenic painting for added charm. While there are no physical indications to suggest where or when this piece was produced. An accompanying letter attested that it was from the Boston/Cape Cod area and is at least 70 years old, but possibly much older from the mid-late 1800s. I can say for a fact that it certainly appears to be quite old. The dimensions of the frame are 18 1/2" wide x 33 3/4" tall x 1 1/2" deep. The dimensions of the mirror are approximately 11 1/2" x 17 1/2" The dimensions of the painting are approximately 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" The frame is made of wood and coated with a paint or stain that is chipped in a few places around the edge. The paint is also cracking in a few places around ... morethe gold molded parts and the top left corner is separated ever so slightly. The mirror itself definitely has a few imperfections and could use a good cleaning. But other than a quick wipe down I'll leave any major detailing to the experts. Let me be clear that I am neither an expert in mirrors nor am I an expert in paintings. The painting is in nice condition, but has two fine scratches, one going across the left side of her face, the other is curving up on her left shoulder. I have close ups of these, so please view pictures. Note that close ups make it look far worse than it is, hardly noticeable to the naked eye) The metal on this is ornate. With a Cherub, Putti on each side of the finial, and also one on each side of the bracket that holds the ring on the bottom of handle. The metal is tarnished, darkened, will leave any cleaning to new owner. This mirror measures about 8.5" not counting the ring. 1930 Antique WHITE SEID 25 x 25 Baroque Gesso & Wood Framed Mirror
Your viewing an antique 1930 White Seid Baltimore Boroque Mirror. The mirror is hand carved wood and gesso with a gold finish. I believe this was an original wood gesso combination originally in which the gold or bronze tone was added. CONDITION: The morror has a few minor age spots as shown. The frame has some minor cracks that are very small and visable only by looking very close at the frame. The backing has its original paper with the White Seid logo sticker still in tact. As you can see the paper has major wear but it can easily be replaced if preferred. Measurements: The entire frame is 25 inches long and 25 inches wide. The mirror measures 24 inches wide. The weight of the entire peice is almost 12 pounds.

House This beautiful antique mirror measures 12" x 21" overall. With a mirror size of 8" x 10" It appears to be all original, with the possible exception of the eye screws and wire on the back. The reverse hand painted top panel is old and slightly wavy glass, and features a sailboat and farm or house landscape highlighted with gold gilt paint. There are some water spots(mostly on the sky) and some loss of paint(mostly on the bottom) The mirror is thin and early, and there is some silver loss along the edges, as well as overall spotting/speckling. The construction is out of mahogany(I think) With antique square cut nails and an old shingle ... morefor a back. The original finish has deepened and crackled as expected with such an early piece. There are some scratches along the sides.marks of long and honest use. I removed the back because something was rattling around(one of the mirror shims) and it looks like someone tried to stabilize the silver loss with foil and lacquer. It doesn't effect the appearance, but I wanted to point it out. Also, the frame is slightly warped. It looks fine on the wall, but you may notice a raised corner when looking from the side. This matching set ot 2 parcel gilt beveled mirror wall sconces feature Bacchus. The Roman God of Wine, grapes and ornate scrolls around the frame. The metal underneath the gilt is most likely cast iron. The mirrors help to reflect more light which was much needed before electricity. The sconces are decorated in the Eastlake style from the Victorian era and the theme is Renaissance Revival. Likely dating them to circa 1885-1890. The cast iron is in excellent condition with a nice patina. One mirror has a small chip in the bevel. I tried to capture it in the pictures. This is a charming antique etched wall mirror with wooden frame and crest with ornate floral leaf and scroll gesso accents around the top and at each corner. There are a few scuffs and scratches on the frame. Some repairs to the gesso and touched up areas that conceal chips(shown in the photos) but it looks good overall. The glass looks excellent with crystal clear reflections throughout and no cloudiness, but there are a couple tiny spots of silver loss on the top edge and on one side edge.
