Antique Apollo Gilded Jeweled Dresser Set Mirror Powder Jar Dresser Jar NR
Antique Apollo dresser set consisting of a long nad mirror. Small powder jar and larger dresser jar. These had a beautiful gilding at one time. Now the bronze is showing through since the gilding is wearing off. Each piece is jeweled. And all jewels appear original except for one on the glass dresser jar that is a lighter green color. Condition is decent for age but not spectacular. Mirror measures 15" long. Small powder jar measures 3 1/8" in diameter and the larger dresser jar measures 2 3/4" in diameter and stands just over 3 1/2" tall. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE VICTORIAN PLATEAU MIRROR, BEVELED GLASS, SCALLOPED METAL TRIM,NR
This is an antique/vintage Victorian plateau mirror. The mirror itself is beveled. The bevel is narrow. Just meeting the edge of the decorative scalloped metal trim that surrounds the mirror. This piece measures 14" in diameter and 1.5" in height. It stands on 4 delicately embellished metal feet. The feet and broader scrolled top section each measure 1" in height and 2.5" in width at the top(picture 5) The scalloped trim surrounding the mirror measures.5" in width with an additional.25" wide plain metal banding beneath the scalloped trim. The plain metal banding completely surrounds the mirror as well. All of the trim is complete and in great condition. I think there may be several metals used in the piece, and I don't know with any certainty what they are. The scalloped trim and plain banding are gold, and ... morethe feet are silver(in color, at least) The backing is all original and in tact(pictures 7& 8) The only damage to the piece is in the mirror itself. There are some small surface scratches. There is a good bit of haziness in the glass, and some areas where the silvering has worn thin. Still just a fabulous mirror. There are so many uses for these. I am not sure what the wood is. It was marked Walnut. But I do not know enough to say for sure. I did put this against CHerry in photo 1 and against Oak in photo 7. So you can see the difference. Very Pretty. The back has some water stains on the bottom. Nothing major. The frame is in Great Shape, but does show some age. Nicks and dings ans some scratches. Antique Collectible Wrought Iron Mirror with Shelf & Towel Rack NR
You're looking at an oval swivel mirror in a tin oval frame that is attached to a wrought iron hanger with a shelf and towel rack. The mirror& oval frame are slightly under 12" x 10" the entire piece is approximately 18"h x 10-1/2" w x 4-1/4" deep The space between the twisted iron towel rack and shelf is 1-3/4" There's 9-3/4" of space on the towel rack for the towel. The mirror is secured on the back by metal bend-over tabs. I've seen these on toys made in the 40s-50s. I can't say whether this is a hand-made piece-where someone riveted the frame/mirror to the wrought iron shelf/towel rack. Or whether it is one piece, or whether all or part is pre-fab or handmade. I have the piece sitting on the stair because the towel rack makes it impossible for this to sit flat.

Up for auction today is this Beautiful Antique Victorian Large Gilt Ormolu Cast iron and Brass Easel Back Mirror. The piece measures 11 1/2" wide. And is 9 1/4" tall. The mirror itself measures 7 1/2" wide by 5 1/4" tall. It has a 1/2" beveled edge in the mirror. There is appropriate age wear to the silvering, but nothing bad or detracting. The entire piece is Adorned with 3 Cherubs one at the Top and one on Each Side. The easel back is solid Brass, probably done that way because of the strength needed for support. There is a No. on the back which I have taken a photo of, it is no. 546, and this Mirror was probably made by Jennings Brothers, or Bradley and Hubbard. It is done very well and the Gilt Ormolu is dark and rich with very little if any wear to it. This Mirror was very well cared for. No breaks, or chips ... moreor dents. And very heavy. You would have seen one of these in Every house in the Victorian Era, in all different styles and shapes. Purchased from a Private Estate of items from that Time period. It is a heavy mirror. Weighing 6 and half pounds and stands correctly and firmly. Everything about the mirror is outstanding. It is from a lovely old highend estate sale. The total size of the mirror measures 15 inches high and 12 inches wide. The bevel mirror itself is 7 inches wide and 8 1/4 inches high with a wonderful French blue and heavy bronze ormalu. The French blue is vivid. Not washed(looks that way in picture) out, the flash from my camera does it no justice. Not only can it be set on a dresser or vanity, but it has a round hook type circle on top and can hang on a wall. Shipping for the mirror is FREE USA only. Less Hawaii and P.Rico. The three tiered triple row style is hard to find and can be expensive when you do. This tray measures 18" by 10" across the frame with 15" by 7 1/2" flat surface and could be used on a coffee table. This mirror was originally part of a table top cheval shaving mirror. The stand is long gone and this is being sold as pictured. Your bid is for the mirror as pictured. The mirror is either American Federal or English Georgian(dates 1820 either way) The mirror is mahogany with pencil inlay. Good condition for age. The finish is old and probably original. Minor scuffs. Scratches, and dings as expected on a piece of this age. The mirror glass plate is old and possibly original. There is silvering loss on the mirror as should be expected on a piece of this age. Underneath the backboard, the mirror is held in place with glue blocks. The backboard was replaced with a piece ... moreof black rough cut plastic at one time(pic#3) 2 of the orignal cut nails are still in place on the back(pic#4) the other back nails are replacements. On each side of the mirror frame is a hole for where it mounted to cheval at one time. Would need a hanging wire put in place to hang on wall. This is a wonderful handprinted antique Italian or French mirror which could be hung independently on the wall or can be placed in the wooden harp which will secure to a dresser of your choosing. I do not have the hardware to attach the mirror to the harp. You can find the right size large screw to do this. Please look at all the pics as they tell the condition better than I can describe. I am offering local pickup only but if the buyer wants me to ship it. I will box it up and send it out. I will have to figure the shipping fee and adjust the invoice accordingly. It can be adjusted via the screws on the sides. It looks like it has been around for awhile, but I know very little about it for certain. I will let the winning bidder be the judge of its age/origins! In good vintage condition with light spotting and surface scratching on the glass. The chief flaw I noted is a spot about 0.5 inches long on one side of the non-magnifying glass. It looks like a chip from a distance but is actually completely covered by another layer of glass. So the surface still feels smooth. It can be seen close-up in photos#5 and#6. There is also a heavy patina on the metal and number markings written in ink on the underside.
