ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST CARVED MIRROR WITH ACORNS AND OAK LEAVES.
Up for auction is a beautifully carved antique Black Forest mirror with beveled edge from the early 1900's. The frame has branches with oak leaves and acorns that wrap around a nice mirror. This piece has fabulous detail. The only flaws that I see with this piece is a small dark spot or discoloration on the left side of the mirror(I tried to get a picture of it, but doesn't show up very well) and four small holes on the back with a round mark(You can see in the last two pictures that show the back of the mirror. It might have had a leg on the back at one time so you could also display the mirror on a shelf which is were these marks might have came from, not sure. Antique 1870s BLACK FOREST Relief Carved Eagle Top Wood Frame OAK WALL MIRROR
I have up for sale a rare and beautiful vintage circa 1860s- 1880s Black Forest hand carved Hanging Wall Mirror. I believe that the frame is made of Oak- its relief carved with a bird. Possibly an Eagle on top. The bird has a glass eye and the talons are fixed on to a log. It measures approx 26-1/2" measured from the tip of the wing to the bottom of the vertical section of the frame,its approx 17-1/4" wide. The bird itself protrudes outward just over 4" The glass mirror itself measures approx 16-1/4" x 9" The frame is in very nice estate fresh as found condition. I am quite sure that the finish is the old original. Regardless it looks wonderful. It has a nice warm patina and recessed areas have darker coloration. Overall the frame is in Great Condition- other than some wear/small chip to the end tip of the birds beak ... morethe wood is in fantastic shape. Wear is light, the frame was well taken care of. The glass mirror is excellent- no silvering issues- no damages. I see that the bird is attached with 2 screws in the back. When I package it. I will take if off and package it separately. PLEASE HOLD OFF MAKING PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED MY INVOICE. This auction is for a Beautiful Antique Victorian Quartersawn Tiger Oak Carved Beveled Wall Mirror. The mirror measures 40 inches tall by 39 inches wide including the wood trim. The mirror by itself measures 31 inches tall by 35.5 inches wide. We used the mirror in our master bathroom over a double sink vanity. But it can be hung anywhere. It has a wire hanger in the rear and can be hung in drywall using 2 50 lb. rated OOK picture hangers. The mirror weighs about 40-50 pounds. Local pick-up only in Montclair. NJ

This is a nice antique solid wood framed wall mirror with carved floral accents on the crest and upper corners. And a wide bevel all the way around the mirror. The mirror is sturdy, solid, and heavy. The wood is walnut or oak with a very dark slightly glossy finish, the finish is probably not original, but is in good condition with some scuffs, scratches, and minor chipping, mainly along corners and edges. The glass looks very good, but there are a few areas of light spottiness in the silver. Images are crystal clear throughout. The lines that appear on the glass in the photos are a reflection and are not actually visible on the glass. There is a wooden panel over the back and the hanging wire is intact. An extended pelmet-type section to the top, with central carving, makes ... morethis piece a real stand-out! This lovely mirror is BIG! It has an overall measurement. JK Description I have listed an Antique Carved Oak Mirror Wall Hanging with Shelf and Towel Bar. The oak is a very pretty medium dark color. It measures approximately: Wall Hanging– 1 ½” wide x 4 ¼” deep x w/Bar x 16 ¼”high Shelf(outside) 10 ½” wide x 2 ¼” deep x 1 ¾” high Shelf(inside) 9 ¼” wide x 1 ½” deep x 1 ¼” high It is in really great shape. There are a couple of black marks on the mirror and a small piece of wood broken off a corner on the back left side. I have supplied several photos so please check them out carefully. Wonderful late 1800's hand carved wall shelf with mirror. Made from SOLID OAK with two American Eagles. One at the top crest and one holding up the display shelf. The piece is in totally in original condition with its fumed oak patina with normal wear to the finish. All the carvings appear to be in great shape with one small chip off the larger eagles right wing. Not noticeable. Both eagles have glass eyes. This piece really makes a statement in a room! Vintage Antique Victorian Carved Oak Beveled Dressing Dresser Wall Mirror
This is an original antique mirror with beautifully carved oak frame and beveled glass. It looks like it was once used as a dresser mirror and has the metal brackets on the back to attach it to a harp. However. It also looks like it was hung as a wall mirror using the metal brackets. It currently has a piece of string tied between the brackets, and before hanging again, the string should be upgraded to a wire. The wood is in excellent condition with only minor light scuffs and tiny dings and the frame is sturdy and solid with tight corners. The finish is very good with some minor wear from age and use. There is an area along the bottom edge where the finish has flaked off. Shown close-up in the photos. The glass is beveled along the edge and is in good condition, but has some flaking, cloudiness, and spottiness to the silver from age. The shelf has two small sliver chips out of each corner.The header is decorated with two round medallions at each corner. The center medallion at top is missing.
