Hard to find, triple-mirrored dressing table, includes 2 drawers and mirrors that swing in on each side. Drawers work fine, have dove tailed joints. Mirrors in good condition. Style of this vanity has influences of Mission with the straight lines, and also Empire with the curved scrolled front legs, typical of a late 19th century transitional piece. Regarding wood color, it is a medium oak. Some dark areas are shadows and white areas are reflections. As you can see this is a wonderful piece and could be used in many places in a home. Condition is very good, sturdy and clean, no odors, ready to go into your home. As with most antiques, it has it's minor flaws, nothing to totally distract from it's beauty, or usability, aged wood has such character. It does have some chips, dings, and marks, some fine steel wool and a bit of stain could probably remedy most, if you like perfection. This Auction is for an 1800s Antique Wood Folding Shaving Mirror for men. I believe this dates to around the Civil War era.1860s to the 1880s. Has three Wooden Panels with some type of Leather or oil cloth backing to each of the Beveled Mirror Panels,the Leather panel that shows on the outside when folded close has a picture embossed into it of a Native American Indian on a Pony or Horse and holding an Arrow like he is hunting or going into Battle. The other 2 panels are plain however one is missing but could be replicated and replaced. The Beveled mirrors are cloudy from and the silvering on back has worn as pictured due to age. The original hardware is all intact including Gold metal round ball feet so you could open this up on top of a table or it has a chain with which to hang it on the wall. Being offered for sale is this fancy 19th century French Victorian Carved Fruitwood Triple Beveled Over Mantle Mirror with an abundance of carvings.This elegant 19th century mirror has its original shaped beveled mirrors and we believe it to have its old original finish. This mirror measures a total height to the top of the carvings of 42 inches. Total width of 50 inches and weighs approximately 35 lbs. The center mirror measures 27 inches high by 26 3/4 inches wide, each side mirror measures 21 inches high by 8 1/2 inches wide. This mirror appears to have its old wood backing and does have a newer wire intact on the back for hanging. The original mirrors do show some cloudiness and streaking as common in antique mirrors and the mirror frame does show several old repairs that it has had over the years which I have tried to show in the pictures. ... moreThere also may be a piece of carving missing here and there but honestly the mirror is so heavily carved its not noticeable. Absolutely Fabuous! Vintage Brot triple vanity Lighted Mirror on pedestal. Brot Intimite Gold plated brass with glass(mirrored) base. Brot is a french family business that has been making fine high quality mirrors for over 5 generations& 150 years. Creating exceptional quality. Distortion free magification with shadow free light source& lens. This piece stands 15 1/2" in height. 10 1/4" wide when closed, width extends to 28 1/2" with both sides fully extended, 6" depth with base. Very Good condition but it is vintage so there is surface normal surface wear& spot blemishes to the finish on the base(see image) This is not unusual for the age of the piece& does not detract from its beauty. Original metal tag on lower back by pivot reads"BROT MIROITERIE Brevete' S.G.D.G. PARIS Modele Depose' MADE ... moreIN FRANCE" The light works well. Mirror is absolutely gorgeous! Mirror pivots up& down. Center mirror is magnified 3X. The outer two mirrors can fold completely in on top of the center mirror or extend straight out enabling you to see many sides(this was what Francois Brot became so famous for) Back side of the mirrors is a white plastic parchment type material. It originally must have had a european bulb in it because I had to put a bulb adapter in the socket to be able to use a standard U.S. bulb that is consequently longer& interferes with the up/down pivot(see image) This was just done to I could determine the light worked. Which it does beautifully& I recommend the buyer to replacing the bulb& adapter with the original sized bulb. Classic Mid Century Hollywood Regency design would indicate this piece dates about 1940s-1970s. I believe this design is still available today at specialty shops for approx. $7000.00. Please scroll down under this description for additional views. A wonderful antique late Victorian tri-fold mirror for travel. Placement on a high dresser or hanging from the wall. 8" diameter round bevel-edge mirrors are housed in gilded brass frames. Each section has a single foot at the bottom and the three sections are linked by a double hinge on each side of the center mirror section. The back of each mirror section is covered in an attractive black paper that has a tiny repeating textured design of a torch and acanthus wreath. There are two loops at the top of the center section where a chain used to hang for wall mounting and the mirror is held shut by a little hook. There is some crazing and slight loss to the surface of the mirrors and much of the gilt finish on the brass is worn. This a lovely well-made mirror that can be used ... moreand enjoyed by women or men. Although very useful in a dressing room situation, this can sit at the back of a shelf or sideboard to augment some of your treasures. Very elegant mirror made by Cleveland Window Glass and Door Co. The mirror would have came with that real thin brown fiber paper on the back. These usually get stored in an attic or basement and that stuffs just falls of thru the years. I have got some of the brown packaging paper at wall mart and recovered these. I've learned with antiques. It's best to leave them like you find them. I bought this one and another triple mirror at an estate sale and you could tell both of them had been stored for many years. It is good and solid and well built. You have the normal patina here and there on the frame and on the mirror. There's no major places on the mirror. It's hard to get pics of the small places in the mirror itself but it's nothing out of the ordinary you would find on a mirror this age. In fact, I'd rate it much ... morebetter than most because there are none of the usual large patches or the places you often see around the edges where the backing of the mirror is coming off. If you look at the 2 mirrors on each side of the center one, you'll notice something very unusual for a mirror made at this time. The mirrors have the effect of being 4 small mirrors put together to form a large one but it's not, it's actually a beveled groove cut in the glass shaped like a"V" Very unusual to see this done in the 20's, I didn't know they had the tools to even make such cuts in glass then. I've bought a lot of mirrors and I've never seen one cut like those are. It gives the whole mirror an entirely different look. It's also one of those pieces that hung in any room commands attention when you walk in. It's not too flashy but you can't possibly overlook it either. I apologize for the pictures but it's really hard to stay out of the pics and keep all your junk out as well with a mirror this size.LOL.hopefully you can look past that and see just how beautiful this mirror really is. A great example of the fine workmanship that used to exist in this country. The details are simple breath taking. This is one of those pieces that no matter what room you hang it in. It commands the center of attention when you walk in. It measure 4' long and 15 1/2" high at the highest point and 11" at the mirrors. I bought this at an estate sale and it still had just a little of that old paper backing they used. That stuff becomes so brittle thru the years, especially when these usually get stored somewhere in an attic and the heat just causes it to crumble. I just went ahead and removed the small amount ... morethat was still there, it was going to come off anyway. These are fairly simply to recover. The good part about the back being opened, you get to see that all 3 pieces are original with Central Glass still stamped on them. All 3 mirrors are beveled around all 4 sides. If you see spots or smudges in the pics, it's probably my window cleaning skills, the mirrors are in very good condition. This is an Antique Conroy Prugh Three Piece Hinged Folding Mirror in Very Good Condition. It also has designs on the center mirror. Opened lying flat it measures 22-1/2'long by 14"tall at the center. The center Mirror measures 14" by 10" and the two side Mirrors each measure 12" by 6" The Mirror is made to either put on a Dresser top or hang from the wall. As there are two hangers on the back as you can see in the pictures. The Mirrors width opened is 3/8" and when it is folded the width is 1-3/8' It weighs 7-1/2-pounds. There are four strong hinges on the back for opening and closing. There is one small-light scratch on the center piece as you may be able to see in the pictures and 4-hairline scratches in other places that are probably too minor to see in the pictures. I really love this mirror but I know very little about it. I believe its French and if it weren't for the hardware I would definitely call it antique but either it is a VERY good reproduction or the back has been removed for some reason and replaced using staples. It is in excellent condition and the mirror is beautiful and clear. I will not attempt to remove the back and date the mirror.
