FATIGUED FRENCH FINDS fatiguedfrenchfinds A superb antique French. Bevelled table or wall mirror in gilt bronze. It is decorated in the typical Rococo style with dolphins, shells, foliate and is finished by an impressive crown at the top. It stands on two feet that take the form of two slightly different dolphins. Dolphins feature strongly in the design. With two at the top and woven into the foliate design that borders the side and base. On the rear there is a substantial ornate bronze easel stand that has had a piece of string tied to it to stop the easel moving too far. This could be removed if you so wished. It also has a bronze fixed link from which to hang it by. In wonderful condition for its great age. Which I believe is the early 1800’s. It has a fissure in the bronze of the easel stand and there is a small fissure in right-hand ... moreouter edge as you look at it, which is 17cms up from the bottom edge. I do not believe that it is the original backing plate as I would of expected it to be a bronze plate but I may be wrong. In parts the gilding has rubbed back to expose the darker bronze beneath. These little flaws do not spoil it in anyway as it is still a great piece and sound. Please study the photographs carefully as them form part of the visual description. The frame stands 42cms tall or 16½” by 22cms wide or 8& 5/8” It weighs 2.520kgs or approximately 5½ lbs. If you have any question about the item or the postage please contact us prior to purchasing.
