I have for sale a pair of Art Deco style molded glass and chrome wall sconces, each frosted pink shade is decorated with a ribbed motif and central figure of a nude in relief, set in a chrome frame. I was told they were made in Holland. I am a guy whose taste is not quite this style. By the pictures you can see they do operate. Unfortunately one does have a very tiny nick. This does not affect the looks though when the glass is sitting in the chrome frame. They measure 9 1/2"high, 10 1/2 wide and weigh approx. 5 lb. I hope the pictures and info help. Any? Antique French style metal bronze & or brass wall sconce candleabra frame
Hi folks! here for your bidding consideration is this victorian era original candleabra framed wall sconce. I believe the piece to be made from bronze and brass and it measures 17" long from the top of the bow to the very bottom underneath the middle candle holder and just a little over 11 1/2" across the center front outside edge. Also measuring just shy of 11 1/4" from the back inside edge where a mirror or picture would be held and 36 1/2" all the way around the circle frame. As seen it has 3 seperate candle holders highly decorated with ornate molded florals& leaves. Detailed raised trim beading and what looks like a hand hammered top bow& ribbons. On the back is missing a couple of metal brackets which hold the mirror or picture inside the frame. The piece looks solid& free any breaks with no signs of ... moreany repairs. It's in a naturally aged patina no polishing and other than some naturally aged ware& tare such as tarnish as shown. A good polish will bring out it's beauty. They are very large and really impressive when seen in the flesh- much larger than they appear in the photo's. A really beautiful design with foliate detail and a lovely scallop shell at the base- all typical rococo motifs. Please look at the photo's to really appreciate these. They are probably around 30 years old and made from very heavy solid bronze. These would have cost a fortune new. We dismantled them in our workshop and completely rewired them with new brass bulb holders so now in full working order again. The brass has a nice aged patina. At the top the brass is a basket of flowers then they have criss cross pattern that continues down to the arms of candleholders. These types of old American made light fixtures are becoming more and more difficult to find. Back when these were made they were made to last. This is a great pair of old light fixtures that can be used inside or out side. Each is made of a metal material. Probably cast aluminum and are black in color. Each measures 23” overall and have 8 beveled glass sides“octagon shape” with the original glass in each of the eight side. The lights were tested and both work. The wiring is cloth but still in great shape. All of the glass panels are in nice condition with one exception. One lantern has two glass panels with a small chip in the glass both chips are inside the lamp and are hardly visible. There is no damage to them otherwise only some wear from use.
