1920's~ANTIQUE ART DECO CHANDELIER~FROSTED GREEN GLASS CEILING LIGHT FIXTURE~VGC
This auction is for an antique 1920's art deco ceiling light chandelier that is fully functional and ready for installation and use. It consists of 2 parts of thick frosted glass. The upper is clear and the lower shade is light green with a beautiful art deco pattern. The lower part has glass tabs that insert into the slots of the upper part and rests on little ledges when turned 1/4 turn, as designed. The escutcheon plate and bulb holder are made of brass and the total height is approx. 17" This classy and opulent vestibule light appears just lightly used and in very good condition. There is a chip in one of the ledges of the clear round part and the square green part rests securely on the other 3 ledges with no problems and it is guaranteed to be a solid connection as it is and this minor detail cannot be seen when in use. Description: This light fixture has a frosted glass shade with raised. Clear stars. The rim of the shade and the bottom center are clear glass. The bottom center of the shade is in the form of a compass. The light hangs down about six inches, and measures 10-1/2 inches in diameter. The metal portion of the fixture was custom made in our workshop. And has been finished in a metallic bronze color. This has two new porcelain sockets with new wiring, including a ground wire. Condition of the glass is excellent, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few very minor flakes on the inner top rim of the shade, not even noticeable. What a great light fixture! The scones measure 10 1/4" in height with the back plate measuring 4 7/8" wide and it will stand out from the wall 3 1/2" from the back plate to the edge of the glass. The back plate is made of brass. The curvature of the glass measures 3" from the base plate to the maximum curvature and is 4" wide at the base. The glass is 7 1/4" high. The wiring is cotton braided. The light is operated by a turn knob located at the base of the light socket. Labeled on the back of each sconce is a sticker indicating the manufacture as GLOBE LIGHTING PRODUCTS CO. along with a union made label. There are no chips. Here you are bidding on a"Antique Art Nouveau Hanging Glass Fixture" It is a hand painted frosted glass that has a crackle look to it. It is a torpedo like shaped fixture that has hand painted lines through it that form a check like pattern. It has a brass top and hanging chain on it. It measures 11 inches from the brass hook on its top to the pointed shaped bottom. It is about 4 1/2 inches at its widest part. Circa 1930's. This item is in very good condition with the exception being a'dent' on the top part of the glass dome. Not sure if it could have been from it being blown glass or not but its more like a melt then anything else and its a b out a 1/2 inch wide. That said it is'not' noticeable when its hanging as it is on the top of the dome. Otherwise its in very good condition and need only cleaning and a ... morere wiring. Depending on how you choose to use it. I have 2 other matching domes both in very good condition and both'without' the melted dent. There is a cut glass waffle pattern in the center. It is in excellent condition for it's age, however, there are a few flea bite chips in two of the corners and one chip on the side, barely noticeable(see pics 3,4,5& 6) There are two very small dark marks on the inside, but again, barely noticeable. Mounting rim outside diameter is a little less than 1 5/8ths inches, so these would fit a 1 5/8ths to 1 3/4 inch fixture. Glass has an acid etch frosted finish on the outside, except for the grapes and vines, and smooth on the inside. Nice scalloped tops. Up for auction is a pre-owned Vintage all brass CHANDELIER ceiling light fixture with 4 outside lights and 1 center light with the dome center frosted and cut glass shade. The light fixture is all brass but have some of the areas painted a tan or light brown color. Light have 4 heavy cast brass ornate 4-light chandelier arm with the flat on/off knobs( knobs are marked BRYANT) Light has a 20" long chain and the domed ceiling mount cover cap. All the fixture shades are frosted with cut in detailed design( cut in design is the clear glass) and gives off a soft. Warm glow when lit. BULBS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE AUCTION! I cannot find a signature on the light. SIZE: Approximately 20 1/2" across the arms and 47" from the domed ceiling mount cover to the bottom of the shade. The 4 outside smaller shades are 5" from top to bottom ... moreoutside, top of these shades are 1 7/8" on the inside and 2 3/16" aross to the outside. The bottom of the 4 smaller shades are 3 1/2" across to the inside and 3 3/4" aross to the outside. The big center dome shade is 9 1/2" across the inside and 9 3/4" aross to the outside, and approx. 5 1/2' deep. CONDITION:I was real careful when I tried the light because of fraded and bare wires, but all the light sockets worked as shown in the pictures. The light DOES HAVE SOME CRACKS IN BRASS AROUND THE RIMS OF THE 4 OUTSIDE LIGHT, WHERE THE SHADE SCREWS ARE LOCATED, I do not think that these small crack will hurt any thing because when screwed in tight they hold the shades firmly in place. Very nice clean Art Nouveau or early Art Deco Lamp Shade made of clear frosted glass. The shade is in clean condition with only some very small chips on the top rim(which is attaching the shade to the light fixture- therefor it will be invisible) The shade is about 6 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The diameter for the top is 2 1/4 inches(outer part of the rim) and 2 inches(inner curve of the rim) all messured on the outside of the rim. Overall a wonderful shade. Please see pics.
