Very Ornate with Scrolling Leaf ... moreDesigns and Turning Swirls. Both with 5 candle holding arms. Very attractive pair of early Wall Sconces or Candelabras. No markings found. One sconce still has the gold gilt leaf on the wall mount and on the scalloped candle arms holder. The other one is still showing mostly silver paint which has been on for a long time and has the Gold Gilt Leaf showing through the silver paint. No damage or repairs on either one. I believe they could be solid bronze but can't guarantee it. There are two top candle drip pieces that screw off and were stripped years ago showing the old solid bronze metal(Pic. 5- 8) It also shows through in different areas on both sconces. All 10 top 2 piece drip plates unscrew off for easy cleaning. These were bought out of an old Hotel which was being torn down. The two Candelabras were mounted on the sides of an old Marble Top Fire Place Mantel. They are complete and ready for mounting. One has the two original wall mounting brackets and the other one has only the one(Pic. 11& 12) These will be beautiful if refinished. They are also beautiful in the condition they are presently in. Entirely up to the buyer. This is a very useful set and would look lovely in a restored Victorian Home. Please see all pictures and ask any questions. Be sure to use close up. I am not an expert on Guilted Bronze Items but these appear to me as Bronze but I can't guarantee it. So, be sure to ask me any questions before bidding. At first I thought they were cast iron but now I am not sure. With the two top pieces stripped and definitely being either brass or bronze and seeing a brassy/bronze metal look under the layers of old patina and paint. They could be bronze. large antique French Empire Charles X style bronze brass candlesticks candelabra Sorry about the dark pictures its grand 40 inches tall with 10 candle sticks was probably a center piece for a large dining table works great my antique dealer friend told me it was around 1880s then later electrified the lamp works great its in great condition. No cracks to the marble base with is 10 inches in diameter this lamp is very heavy I bought it at a palm beach estate auction about two years ago. I had it in storage until this week. dont know where to put it in my new smaller house cant keep leaving it in storage it has a wonderful patina. Hi folks! here for your bidding consideration is this victorian era original candleabra framed wall sconce. I believe the piece to be made from bronze and brass and it measures 17" long from the top of the bow to the very bottom underneath the middle candle holder and just a little over 11 1/2" across the center front outside edge. Also measuring just shy of 11 1/4" from the back inside edge where a mirror or picture would be held and 36 1/2" all the way around the circle frame. As seen it has 3 seperate candle holders highly decorated with ornate molded florals& leaves. Detailed raised trim beading and what looks like a hand hammered top bow& ribbons. On the back is missing a couple of metal brackets which hold the mirror or picture inside the frame. The piece looks solid& free any breaks with no signs of ... moreany repairs. The gilt bronze has a wonderful warm aged finish which could be polished brighter if required. Both the shades are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. They have been re-wired at some time and are in good working order. I have for auction this magnificent genuine antique gilt bronze and fine french crystal chandelier. It will date to the late 1800s, it came to me through a house clearance here in the South of France, as you can see in my photo's, this chandelier is for candles, as it was originally, in approx the 1920s/1930s it was wired for electricity, but this wiring was so old and distressed. It literally d i solved in my hands. So it has been removed and put back to its original state, I still have some of the old bulb holders and faux candles from the 1920s. Made of wood, please see last photo, I am happy to include these for you in this sale; I am sure it could be easily and inexpensively changed back to be lit by electricity if required. We can see a predominant Art Nouveau theme with Louis XVI elements. It originally had a central gas lamp and two additional lamps at each end. The gas lamps are now converted to hold electric bulbs. This is a counterweighted lamp: the center section can be extended/retracted with a chain and pulley system. This system works as it should except the chains could be longer. We are pleased to offer this stunning. Antique crystal chandelier. This wonderful fixture is French styled and features 4 waterfall tiered sections, two on the top and two on the bottom. The center of the chandelier features an extremely ornate brass/bronze band with large crystals inside the band. The chandelier is 6 light; you will note a couple of the light sockets are missing bulbs, but they all function perfectly. The brass/bronze is absolutely beautiful throught this fixture. It is embossed with delicate and intricate patterns. The same pattern is also found on the original ceiling cover canopy which is also included with the fixture. The chandelier is 23" Wide. It measures 32" tall, not including chain and cap parts. It is many cast brass construction which has various removable center parts and branches, around large screw core. The candle covers are okay but some have cracks or pieces missing and should be replaced to make it look perfect. The wiring to branches is on top of arms not inside like cheap hollow chandeliers. NO REPAIRS or SOLDER OR DAMAGE, EXCELLENT condition! Chandelier may be partially unscrewed in center to accomodate a smaller shipping size, so please be aware, though getting it ready for your room will take minimal reassembly, just simple attaching together again. Antique French Gold Metal Chandelier could be Bronze
An Extraordinary Antique Gold Gilt Metal(could be Bronze) French Chandelier with Frosted Flambeau Center Light and Three Frosted Rose Lights in Beautiful Condition. This Chandelier was my Grandmothers and she purchased it at a dealer on the East Side of Manhattan in the 40's. She never new the age but in the 40's was told it was more than 100 years old. Could be Bronze but I really don't know. Chandelier starts with an original chain and a triple bow top and ball. From the ball are three twisted stems that attach to three Satin Glass Rosettes and Cascading Rose Buds and Leaves twisted around the stems. The Center is the Satin Glass Flambeau(Flame) Under the Flame is Acanthus Leaves and the metal is twisted like rope to bring together the three stems under the stems is what looks like an acorn in the center of the three stems. ... moreVery detailed and Lovely Chandelier. There is a ceiling cover but I do not believe it is original to the chandelier. The Glass Flame has a semicircle piece out of the base about 3/4" x 1/2" where is connects with screws to the metal but is not seen as it is under the lip and one screw is missing although it stays tight without it. Can easily be replaced. There are areas where the Gold Gilt has darkened but it only makes it look older. The Satin Glass Roses have darkened from the heat of the bulbs but not bad. Each Rose has a short white plastic candle holder for the bulbs which I'm sure are replacements. There are a few speckles of white paint.
