White brand antique Treadle Sewing Machine. Last Patent Date listed on the machine is March 11. 1890. It has the"kit" with all the different feet/tools necessary for sewing along with a tube of needles. The outside of the cabinet is painted brown. We were always going to strip it to re-finish but never got the time, and now we need to make room for other furniture. The machine works as in when you use the pedal. The needle goes up and down. I apologize- I haven't sewn since I was very young.I cannot figure out how to thread the machine to see if it sews on fabric. Antique White Rotary Treadle Sewing Machine and Cabinet, Working, S/N FR2207896
The cabinet is in very good shape but does have some scratches and wear spots. It measures 23 1/2" wide by 18" deep by 30 1/2" high when closed. It measures 47" wide and 29 3/4" high when fully opened. There are two drawers behind the left door. The cabinet is on wheels to make it easier to move. The machine has been tested and it does work. The most recent patent date listed on the machine is 1910. The serial number is FR2207896. Because of the serial number and the patent dates. I believe that the sewing machine was made in 1913 or 1914. A cable and pulley automatically lifts the sewing machine when you open the top and lowers it when you close the top(see the last picture. Included in the sale is a box of attachments and parts. A manual, plus an old scissors that was included with the machine. This treadle sewing machine was manufactured by the White Sewing Machine Company around 1886. According to the serial number. The most recent patent date(seen on plate in photo) is 1881. This would be a good parts machine OR restoration project, as it is mostly complete. It only needs a shuttle(with bobbin) and needle in order to sew. The drawers are missing their knobs, but these turn up from time to time. The small"hooks" that helped secure the bonnet(lid cover) to the table top are also missing. However, there is still some of the gold stenciling visible on the ornate cast iron base(see photo) Also, there is some minor veneer damage(as seen in photo) Overall, it is in solid condition for its age! Full drop cabinet machine, one of the most attractive styles brought out. Furnished in Golden Oak quarter-sawed wood-work, finely finished, fitted with ball bearings, automatic lift, nickel plated hand-wheel, belt gripping device, two receptacles on inside of door, and a complete set of the latest style steel attachments" The cabinet is in very good shape but does have some scratches and wear spots. The first patent number on this Whites sewing machine was March 30 1877 and the last patent was March 11 1890. It does have another number on the face plate. Number 118690l. Made in Cleveland, Ohio. It was made to use with a treadle. Has beautiful gold graphics. Measures~12 1/2 inches high at the highest point~length is 14 1/2 inches and is 8 3/4 inches wide. I don't believe it works. Up for auction is for a beautiful antique treadle sewing machine made by the White Sewing Machine Company in Cleveland. Ohio. The condition of this is so good it looks almost brand new. The attachments, medal box, and manual look new also. It comes with 12 attachments in box, small screw driver, small black belt, and book#12 White Rotary Electric sewing machine manual(which is the same machine as this only with electric motor) The main belt that drives the machine is missing. A small decorative piece broke free as you can see in the last couple of pictures but it could easily be wood glued back on.
