We spoke with the Singer representative ... moreand she said a machine this old didn't have a model name or number-that it was just called a"Standard" However, in the literature I have seen since, I notice model 12 New Family machines that are nearly identical to this one. The representative did confirm the 1871 date. The decals are still remarkably intact for a machine that is 142 years old. They represent the"Acanthus Leaves" pattern. The machine has a coffin top. Two-drawer cabinet and a set of attachments, including two original bobbins, bobbin winder"spoon, tucker, binder, seam guide, quilting bar(not pictured) and a wooden case of needles. It also has an extra open-boat shuttle that I have not tested. As it has a slightly different shape from the one that was in the machine. Two extra bobbin winders came with the machine, and will be included. A reprint of the Model 12 manual is also included. Size: At 16" deep x32" wide x40" high. Including top, the machine cabinet is rather diminutive, which I liked because it fits in small spaces. Markings: The Singer logo is present on both sides of the cast iron treadle base. The medallion on the machine's forward side says"Singer Mfg Co N Y Trademark. The front and back of the machine head say"Singer" and the top says"Singer Manufacturing Company" The Serial number is 868385. The number above the serial number just below the stitch length selector is 7753385. Origin/ Background: I bought this machine at a flea market 26 years ago. It has been with me ever since. Up for auction we have A PAIR OF ANTIQUE DOMESTIC TREADLE SEWING MACHINE LEGS WITH SUPPORT BAR Patented 1863 The legs are made of cast iron and measure roughly 29" x 16" There is some wear and flaking of the black paint and also some surface rust in areas. The word"DOMESTIC" has a top coat of gold paint. All 4 wheels turn freely. The support bar is approximately 21 3/4" long. Tip to tip. This piece has not been thoroughly cleaned. It is a very nice Rotary 151 sewing machine, serial number 151-119808, made in the Great USA! It comes with it's original Domestic Data Card, It tells who, serial number, dealer name and where it was bought. Also, the card tells of all of it's orignal accessories and all about the Domestic 151. however, it does not have it's orignal manaul, you can download one on the Domestic companies website. It has it's original Domestic sewing machine case, the sewing machine fits between the original slots in the case and it fits on it's side. There is alot of it's Domestic working attachments in it's accessory original box, Also, the has it's RARE Domestic zigzagger in ... moreit's original case too! It has it's original foot pedal and it has it's orignal bobbin case and bobbin. It has Reverse and it's orignal light which also works great. Please look at all of the pictures to see what exactly is included. Message me if you have any questions about anything! I will include insurance also. What I did- I have put brand new heavy duty cords. Just like the orignal ones, only new, on the machine's foot pedal with it's plug that goes into the motor and electrical cord. The old cords had some broken places, so now everything on the machine works very well and as it should originally. We cleaned, santized, oiled and greased the grease cups on the original Domestic motor. I cleaned the shuttle and tried to clean every little part underneath also. It is 61 years old, but does it sew! I sewed some Denim and it did good, steady and strong. Everything works good and it is so nice to see a machine complete like this one! Payment. This item is a 1910 Domestic High Arm King Style Sewing Machine this piece does work and work well I would say it is only missing the belt that runs from the foot pedal to the back of the machine. The writing is in near new condition. The Cabinet needs some touch up a few spots on the sides are missing pieces of veneer it looks like it is made out of tiger oak the grain in the wood is very strong it comes with two boxes of spare parts one is felt on the inside that is the original Domestic tin parts box. The top in in amazing condition I would say the rest of the cabinet needs to be wiped down with lacquer thinner then lightly sanded and a top coat applied Which I can also do for you in a day for an extra 50.00. Blank back. Domestic brand sewing machine were made in Ohio in the 1860. But in the 1870s the work was outsourced to a manufacturer in New Jersey and only the trade name was kept. Shortly after, these concerns merged and continued operation through the 1800s until the Domestic Company was bought out by White Sewing Machine of Cleveland- but they kept the"Domestic" brand name. This is a lovely card with all the details finely rendered. The sewing machine is very realistic.
