The pin cushion is a dark green velvet in good used condition. No tears, some wear and soiling from age, in good working condition, pins& needles slide in& out very nicely, feels like its filled with sawdust. It still retains the original old satin laces. I think the shoe is made of bisque or chalkware, I'm not totally sure, but it is in good used condition, no cracks or chips that I can find. It measures 5.5" long x 3" tall x 2 1/4" deep. Beautiful Antique Pin Cushion Lady with Fan
This auction is for porcelain lady pin cushion. She is holding a fan in one hand. She is very pretty. Alone she measures just under 3" But with pin cushion she is approx 5" tall. I can not find any markings on her for the lace and cushion hides her bottom part. She is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. Now for the lace. it is very old and worn/torn as you can see by the pictures. The pin cushion itself is in very good condition.No tears. These dolls were my grandmothers and given to me many years ago. They need a home where they can be appreciated and not just sitting in a box on a shelf. The largest is about 3 1/8 inches tall and is stamped Germany on her back. The next one. With a rose in her hands is about 2 5/8 inches tall and stamped Japan on her back. The last doll is considered a miniature half doll, is about 1 ¾ inches tall and not marked that I can see. Gorgeous pin cushion dating from the late 19th or early 20th century with beaded dangling loops on the edges. My research leads me to believe this is a pin cushion of the Iroquois Mohawk tradition. The beaded loops are all intact. Measures about 8.5" x 6.5" No rips or tears. But the fabric could use a professional cleaning and there are some tiny pin holes in the velvet. It is gorgeous! Antique Pot Metal Lace Up Boot Pin Cushion. Silver finish. Shows some wear from age of piece, but over all in good shape. Has the original cobalt blue glass liner. The brown velvet cushion is a replacement piece I made myself out of vintage velvet cloth. The pins are glass headed. A beveled mirror is on the reverse and a purple velvet cushion is between. These were actually hand painted onto the back of the glass following a black line print transfer that was applied first. 3 Antique sewing items; 2 tape measures, one early 1800's; plus pin cushion-bone
You are bidding on a lot of 3 antique/vintage sewing items. 2 tape measures and one little pin cushion. sd The brown tape measure does unroll and rolls back using the little lever. It is made out of some sort of dark wood. It was verified by an antique dealer that this tape measure dates back to the early 1800's. When the tape is unrolled. You can see the lines but cannot really make out the numbers due to age. It measures a bit over 1 inch across and about 7/8ths of an inch depth at the widest part. Both sides are a bit rounded-especially the top side with the little handle. Not sure what the little white nob at the end of the lever is made out of-could be porcelain, could be ivory. The other tape measure is made from vegetable ivory. It is also very old. The tape is red and is easier to read the numbers than the brown tape measure. ... moreI believe the handle on the top the rewinds the tape into the measure to be ivory; however I am not absolutely positive but pretty sure. This one also measures a bit under 1 inch across. About 1 inch tall not including the handle and about 1 5/8 inches tall including the handle. The final piece is a little pin cushion. I believe the center part is ivory as well as the handle. Although I cannot be absolutely sure. It is hand painted. An antique dealer believes that this is ivory and of course it is very old. Up for auction is a wonderful antique high top shoe or boot made from wood and velvet. The shoe is painted a dark green color with splotches in silver and gold. The beading goes around the brown velvet and two red rhinestones down the center. Measurements: 5" long X 5" tall X 1-7/8" wide. Condition: There is minor flaking of paint. The velvet has wear and a small tear and is missing tiny amount of beading on one side(see pic with string) There is a 1-1/2" split in wood on side but is completely stable. Lovely Antique Blue Hand Crocheted and Satin Decorated Pin Cushion, Heart!
Up for a 7 Day Auction is this Wonder Antique Pin Cushion. It is Hand Crocheted in a Wedgwood Blue color over a cream colored muslin type of fabric. On one side is a Pale Blue Satin Ribbon that has been laid in as edge decoration. There is a small circle crocheted at the top so as to be able to hang wherever convenient. When found. There was a pink satin ribbon tied to it and I have left it as is. The measurements are 6 by 6 inches at the widest points. As can be seen from one of the middle photos. There is a brownish stain on the ric rac about halfway down one side. I actually think that it may somewhat wash out but it would take more care and patience than I possess at the moment. Listing is for ONE item. They are labeled#1& 2 so 2 are available. This listing is for shoe#2. This auction is for an antique Victorian leather shoe pin cushion. It measures approximately 4.25" from toe to heel and 2" tall at the highest point. There are NO beads missing on either one. The leather is in excellent condition& the velvet is also in excellent condition& appears to never have had a pin stuck into it. The bottom of shoe#1 has a slight scuff as seen in the photo& the bottom separates when not resting on the shoe as shown in the picture, nothing was done to fix this so as to not decrease the value. Shoe#2 has an X on the bottom, it appears to be in pencil. You can also see what appears to be the nail/tack in the heel. This auction is for a ~ LOVELY VICTORIAN*TUNBRIDGE PIN CUSHION* Great antique condition. C1850 ~ From Tunbridge Wells in the county of Kent. England DETAILS: In Tunbridge ware. Geometric patterns are made of small bits of different naturally colored woods. The top of this piece has the original dark green velvet pin cushion. T he piece is in excellent condition with only a few light scuffs to the clear finish. It measures 1 5/8" wide and is 1 3/8" high. It is in very good antique condition. There is no loss or chips on any of the wooden pieces. About Tunbridge Ware- Tunbridge Wells in Kent started attracting tourists as early as the 17th century. When travelers came to partake of the curative powers of its spring waters. By the end of the 17th century"curious wooden wares" were sold in Tunbridge shops. About 1830 craftsmen ... morefrom Tunbridge discovered a new way of decorating their wares. Bunches of wooden sticks were glued together lengthwise. When they dried, they were cut in slices and glued onto paper before being veneered on to a wooden surface. From then on, Tunbridge craftsmen produced a great variety of designs- each unique as no single one could be reproduced a second time. A variation appeared in the 1860s- stickwork. Instead of slicing the wood horizontally, it was turned on a lathe and the patterns ran lengthwise. This technique was used on a myriad of souvenirs, including no end of sewing tools- needle cases, pin boxes, silk winders, glove menders, thimble cases, wax and emery holders as well as pin cushions including this one- all in the famous Tunbridge marquetry. Delightful antique sterling silver duck pin cushion
This is a really charming little sterling silver duck pin cushion. It is stamped'Sterling' silver on the base. The duck measures approx 3.5cm long and approx 1.5cm high. There is a lot of hand tooled detailing on the body and head showing the plumage of the bird. The cushion part is covered in a golden coloured velvet. This would be a great addition for anyone who collects pin cushions or ducks. this auction is for an antique sewing box pin cushion hand made of turned hardwood with black lacquer and bone details in good condition. This delicately made piece of american folk art has a fitted cover that opens to reveal steel pins for seven spools of thread- each of which can be threaded through the bone eyelets for tangle-free use. The fabric on the pin cushion looks like a replacement. There are some old cracks in the wood that may be from shrinkage but do not appear to be loose. It may have been repaired at some time.
