Here's some more of the gorgeous old buttons I found at a recent estate sale. There are 12 buttons in this lot. All old Glass ones with tons of detail and decoration. Sorry for the glare from the lamp. The Millefiori one looks chipped but it is not, it's a pretty one too, 9/16" across. Then the clear one with swirls and striped is a paperweight button(I think) 3/8" across. That blue one is super nice with all the decoration near the bottom of the button, and the Black floral with gold edge is beautiful, 9/16" The larger Black glass one has a couple tiny edge chips but they are at the bottom half(backside) it's it's 3/4" I took lots of pictures, some with and some without flash,so be sure to see them all. These are gorgeous! The Rainbow colors are fantastic! THERE ARE 12 HERE. And the largest are just over 1 1/2" across. Those 2 carved larger ones match and are 1 3/8" and the 4 lovely carved ones also match, and are just over 1" I have one more of those, but with an itsy bitsy(barely noticeable chip.I'll add that one and send it along with the others! Antique Sewing Box W/ Key Buttons Needles + New Hampshire Sargent Emery Freeto Went to the flea market this weekend hoooray- so happy to have it back. Lotsandlotsandlots of antiques and unique for you this week. And I’ll be listing all week, so be sure to keep checking! I ran out of photo space taking pictures of this amazing time capsule- what a treasure chest. For sure! What I have is an antique, Victorian era wood sewing box. I purchased it from a couple at the flea market who told me that they'd bought it on a trip to New England, and have kept it with it's contents for years- in their personal collection. They sold it to me as they found it, and I'm selling it to you exactly that way too- with allllllll the wonderful contents. To start with- it is a beautiful inlaid wood box with it's original working lock and key(I found ... morethe key tucked inside of the shelf in the box. The box measures 11 1/8" wide by 7 7/8" deep and 3 3/4" tall. The top has a geometric shape- with the sides angling up to the raised rectangle in the center. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition, with lots of rustic wear from age and use- there's finish wear, lots of scratches and scrapes and some teenie dings. You can see some light round finish wear spots 1/4" to 1/2" in size on the top that look like may have been caused by liquid(like water drops, but don't affect the structure- it's a solid wood box, not veneer) The lid of the box, when you look at it from the front straight on, has about 1/8" more air space between the lid and the base on the left hand side- you really have to look to notice as the lid does fit well. I think it's absolutely fine as it is, but a coat of polish would minimize a lot and bring it back to life quite a bit, too. Please supersize and look at all- if you are looking for a box with a perfect finish, this isn't the one- this one shows the character of age. Rare antique hand made sewing kit hand embroidered to the spine with the date of 1897 and what appears to be the makers name. The kit has an English or French silk brocade covered cover with 12 sections inside made from linen with a silky finish. Each section has a hand written notation in ink with a flap trimmed in pink silk and a tiny pearl button(a few of the loops are broken or missing) Some of the sections contain their original contents ~ a chevron patterned silk needle case containing needles. Up for bid is a large lot of approximately 400 antique& vintage buttons. The majority of the lot is metal buttons but also is a small amount of celluloid. Bakelite and some glass stone buttons. The lot also includes some advertising buttons which include Pinkerton, Peary Coat, Boy Scouts, U.S. Army, Crown Overall, Ox Hide and possibly others. There are many metal picture buttons and there are several button sets with 4 or more matching buttons. There is also a nice red coral cameo button in the lot but it is missing the back button loop(photo 2) The buttons range in condition from excellent to fair with most being in very good clean condition. The sizes of the buttons also vary but most are shirt and/or jacket size with a single metal button loop on the back. We recently acquired several Carlin Comforts pieces from an elderly Ladies Estate. We have a couple of Trinket Boxes that are Marked Carlin Comforts. Among a few other pieces, pillows/ spread, and sheets and two sewing case pin cushions. The sewing cases are not marked Carlin but were with the Boxes and we believe they are from the same Era around the 30's. There are 4 pieces in the last photo, This Listing is for the Sewing Case in the other photos and IT ONLY, the others are in separate Listings. This little Beauty is a peach toned satin sewing case with a quilted effect. Just luv luv the fabric on the inside of this one. I want a bolt of it. LOL! It is in wonderful condition for its age with no damage or stains that we can find. One line of stitching that gives it its quilted effect is missing on the back side, no biggie. Sorry about the lousy pictures. Taken with my Ipad. This is a lot of three lovely 1-1/16" black glass button that have a gray/silver wash over them. Then there are eight 1/2" daughter buttons that match. They are not marked and have a metal shank that fits into the molded glass on the back. Two of the larger are more black than silver/gray but these are in very good condition overall. Antique Ornate Art Nouveau Sewing Scissors They measures about 3-1/2 inches long and are decorated with a floral design. The other side of these scissors are a bit stranished. Nothing a bit of polish won't fix and the scissors open and close easily. I also am selling another set of sewing scissors Griffon C.W. Germany. Which I don't know too much about. There are three stain/rust bits on the scissors. The scissors open and close fine. 2 J&P Coats Dual Duty plus spools of some thread(melon color and green) 1 Coats& Clark's wooden spool of some mint colored thread. 1 Clarks spool of some grey thread and 1 Warranted"Geneva" Silk Substitute Wooden spool with some cream colored thread on it. Here is a Gorgeous lot of(4) antique. Glass, Jet beaded Mourning buttons. They measure approx 3/4" in width, and are a very heavy, domed shaped,multi-faceted jet glass buttons. They are being sold as is and are in condition which is condusive with its age, their are a couple of chips on the backs of two of the buttons(but are unnoticeable unless you turn buttons over on backs) one of the buttons has a small chip on front, and the other button has a chip on it.
