ANTIQUE/VINTAGE LOT OF 60 METAL BUTTONS, VICTORIAN, GAY 90'S, STEELS,PICTURES,NR
This is a lot of 60 antique/vintage metal buttons. This is not the lot that I auctioned that is just ending now. These are larger. I collected these. As I found them, over time. There is a nice variety here and in a variety of sizes. They range in diameter from 3/4" to 1 5/8" I have broken them down into groups of six, and pictures 2-11 show them in close-up, so you can see what is here. I started with the largest ones in picture 2, and tried to work down in size from there. I included a quarter at the top of each picture to give you a size comparison. Each button is different and I gave them a light cleaning. All have their shanks, but some of those may be bent. I noticed some light rust on the backs of several. These are not perfect, but are just so much fun, and will surely be enjoyed for years to come. There are a few Gay 90's(pictures ... more2& 8) one with glass(picture 3, top right) several with an Art Deco feel, pictorials, cut steel, cages, and many others. As I worked to clean them, I thought that each one was special in its own way. The pictures will do a much better job of describing them to you than I can. Most have brass shanks and the rest. Except a few, have self-shanks. There is one 2-hole sew ... morethrough and one faceted bead with a hole drilled through its middle. It has a duller finish and is more lightweight than the others. It leaves a faint black mark when rubbed across paper. Below are two of the most unusual in the group: There is a 1/4" long cone-shaped pointed bead and A 1/2" bauble with hand-sewn seed beads. It looks like a blackberry. I don't think this was a button because there is no shank and no sew-through. It is stunning and can be adapted for several uses with fashion or altered arts. This is a fabulous set of matching gold luster imprinted 5/8" cushion-shaped buttons. Two have a little wear to the gold and the rest are brilliant. All are strung together except for one. 2 Vint Victorian Black Glass Buttons, faceted edge w/Lace Flower design inside
2 Vintage Victorian Black Glass Button Charm- Cut-Faceted Edge/ Lace Flower Design You are bidding on a vintage two 1920's Round Shaped Black Victorian Buttons that were placed on a vintage charm bracelet. Both glass buttons are a matched set. The buttons have a cut/ etched border surrounding what looks like a raised Lace Flower motif in the center. There is an embedded brass loop in the center back of each of these buttons that would attach them to clothing. Or in this case they were found on a Victorian charm bracelet. The buttons are in excellent condition on the front without damage. There are a few tiny flea bite chips seen primarily through a jewelers loop on one button on the back and along the back edge, none of which would be seen if placed on a piece of clothing. These would be a great gift for anyone who appreciates vintage ... morefindings, or placed on your own charm bracelet as these glass buttons are very old and in excellent condition. The brass loop is well secured into the center of each on the backside. These black glass buttons are difficult to find in such excellent condition, and make facinating charms when placed with other vintage charms. These button/ charms were found on a bracelet in my Great Aunts Sewing cabinet which I received from her estate. She had several charm bracelets, and these two buttons were on one of her bracelets. I found another matching button and have decided to sell both together as they look superb. The button/ charms in the photos above measure 5/8" in diameter. By 3/16" deep not including the back loop. I do not polish or clean the charms or bracelets I sell on Ebay, leaving that decision to the buyer. This is a lovely set of button charms made from vintage rare black glass buttons and is quite unique. It measures 2 3/8" tall overall and it's 2 1/4" across at the widest point. This container is in good condition without dents. Dings, etc and with a good properly fitting top. There is a huge range of very nice buttons from picture buttons. To steel cut, enameled, different color glass, painted, wood, rubber, etc. The largest button is 1.75 inches in diameter and the smallest is diminuitive. There are definitely some very unique ones in the lot. I had to take two seperate sets of pictures so the buttons could be seen individually so you can get a better sense of what is here. This auction is for four(4) antique Victorian. Rare and very hard-to-find tiny, delicate brass pierced metal buttons. You can see a"twinkle" inside the filigreed area. I believe they are also called"twinkle" buttons. These were on their original card from France which was totally shattered into bits and there is only some old yarn still connected to the two of the buttons. They are so very sweet and a must for the collector. They each measure approximately 1/4" in diameter and about 3/16" in depth. PLEASE NOTE: the filigree work is very. Very tiny with fine detail. Original Victorian collar/ dickie*100% natural cotton material*Beautiful net tulle lace with embroidered dot*9 faceted glass buttons*Nearly mint condition/ no damage Offered is a beautiful antique collar. This is a net tulle with an embroidered dot, vertical pleats, all natural soft cotton. It is 6 1/2" wide by 6" long center front, about 10 3/4" long from the back snaps. This was made to attach to a dress and has the original three snaps which all face the same way(all have the pointed end) Down the front are 9 lovely original glass buttons which are diamond faceted with a pointed front, they are about 7/16" across each, very sparkling bright, they look like crystal.
