47 fabulous antique mother of pearl buttons include squares. Ovals, rounds, carved, and some with metal embellishments. These range in size from 9/16" to 1.5" diameter. The large square buttons measure 1.5" square. The ovals measure a hair over 1" by 3/4" There is a dime in the first photo for better size comparison. There are two hole buttons, two of them have self shanks, the rest have inserted metal loop shanks. The last photo shows the back of all the buttons. They are in good condition with no cracks or repairs. The large square in the center has a chipped corner as shown. There are a few expected flea bites on some of them from over the years. This is more than likely from the late 1800's or turn of the century. It belonged to her grandmother. I am positive that this was hand quilted and embroidered. I am pretty sure that the material is silk. The embroidery thread appears to be silk as well. It just so happens that my high school home-ec teacher was in the other day and I showed this to her. She thought the material was silk as well. The bottom does have some tattered spots. There are some stains and loose threads. I only see one little hole in the material. I may have overlooked others, but if I did, they are very small. The color of the material is a tan or khaki. Pic ... more3 shows a better view of the true color. One of the Mother of Pearl buttons is missing and one is broken. It looks like there is some kind of cotton lined in between the material. This piece is not being sold for a baby to wear. Gorgeous lab coat. Roughly 1920s-30s. Tailored nicely at waist and wrists, mother of pearl buttons(including one under collar) Has been laundered, some rust stains remain mostly around pockets. It is in very nice condition structurally and is otherwise clean. One button missing. Shoulders measure 16" across, waist 20" Waxed cotton/linen blend in my opinion, fine cloth. Rare piece. A full button card with 12 mother of pearl buttons. Nice graphic of Indian Maiden in a canoe. These are probably from the 1910's or so when MOP buttons were widely used. Card is 3-1/2 by 2-1/2 inches and in very good condition. Middle has a bend or crease. Hardly noticeable. Shipping is $2.07 first class in the USA. This is a very large lot of buttons that were collected by a family member starting in the 1930s until she finally quit collecting in the 1980s when she just didn't do as much sewing and crafting any more. There are 70 original vintage button cards with the buttons attached in new condition. 375 individual packages of buttons in small plastic bags(average of 4 buttons per package) these are in very good condition, there are approximately 50 loose buttons in one larger bag, also in very good condition. A few, less than 25 buttons, show wear or are metal with some oxidation. Altogether there are 1500+ buttons. The buttons vary in size, type and material. You are bidding on TWO ANTIQUE BUTTONS. These are quite old and have signs of wear. I'm not a button expert so please look at the photo. The larger button is pierced metal. It looks like there's some sort of leather or fabric material between the top and botton sections of the button. The metal was originally painted red. But most of the red paint is missing from age. This button measures 1" The smaller button is wood with elaborate inlay. There's a floral design with shell inlay that has purple hues. Vintage Italian Embroidery Filet Lace Boudoir Pillowcase, MOP Buttons
Showy and fairly large Italian embroidery plus filet lace pillowcase. Tha case measures ca 20 1/4" x 15 1/4" which includes lace edging. That lace edging is about 3/4" at the widest place. The pillow is made of fine white linen in the front and thin cotton in the back. The back contains two mother of pearl buttons which provide closure. CONDITION OF THE PILLOWCASE: EXCELLENT. The only two things to mention are: a small and discreet repair on the back. Pictured above pencil eraser(two pictures) Plus absolutely minimal fraying of the edge lace in two places, both pictured. The case has been freshly laundered. Starched and pressed.

They are flat smokey Mother of Pearl Shell buttons. They have brass bird nest shanks. Some of the shanks look a little smashed. But I can put a needle and thread through all of them. Five of them are the same and measure about 3/4 inches. The other three are slightly smaller. If you look at picture 3, one in the top row is not totally round on back but when viewed from front it is hardly noticeable. Some have a little more thickness than others but basically look pretty close to a set for that special sewing project. These are absolutely stunning. All my items come from a dry. Smoke free home. Another lovely lot of 31 buttons from estate sale. Stored away for years, from a favorite collection. These are brilliant pink base, MOP/shell buttons with iridescent light rainbow colors through out depending on light reflection. They are 1" in diameter, and I found no chips or rough edges on these two holed, sew through buttons. These buttons are purposefully thin and thick due to the natural shell used, which make these buttons shimmer even more. Very Nice.

Nice group of antique/vintage mother of pearl buttons- all squares. They measure from approximately 3/8" x 3/8" to approximately 3/4" x 3/4" There are some sets and pairs- 5 of the largest. And a couple pairs in the group. One large square and 2 small squares have metal shanks- the rest are 2-hole sew-throughs. Several have very nice carving. They are in very good to excellent condition, with some showing signs of gentle wear.
