Very unusual pair of vintage brass maritime lanterns with beautiful patina. These lanterns are in very good shape with oil lamps intact and operable. I have tested the wick adjustment and they both work as intended. They measure App. 6" x 6" x 15 1/2" in height. I have provided several images for your viewing and they should be considered part of the description. I was told these were made around 1920's or 30's and it is very unusual to find a matching pair. One lantern handle is missing a brass screw and both lantern tops have minor bends in the sheet metal mentioned for accuracy only. It really does not take from them at all. Pair Vintage Copper & Brass Tung Woo Anchor & Masthead Lanterns Never Used
This pair of Tung Woo lanterns came from a copper collection they have never been used. They are about 9" high without the handles. There are few dimple dings on them. There is bent sot on the back of the masthead lantern(shown in photo) that is about 1/2" long. There is also a place on the glass of the masthead lantern about 1" long. Very nice pair of brass port and starboard oil lamps. I dont see any markings on either of them. May or may not be antique. Would look great cleaned up. I have not used them so cannot 100% guarantee that they work. Wicks look good. And move up and down. I do not see any holes in oil containers. Red coloring is flaking off of the port lantern. This is exactly the way I found them. I think they would polish up nicely. They measure about 17-1/2" tall(including the bail) and each weighs close to 9 pounds. In excellent condition. The lanterns are in good shape for their age and the lanterns themselves stand about 9 inches tall. They do have some dents and dings towards the tops of the lanterns but the glass has no cracks and is in good shape. They do have alot of oxidation, minor on the outside and major on the inside. I was not going to clean them because I did not want to discolor them but they will hopefully clean up very nicely if cleaned properly.
