This is a vintage 1950's cabin ceiling light that I removed from the Captains cabin on the treasure hunting ship. Arctic Discoverer. The Arctic Discoverer was auctioned off in May, 2013 to a salvage company. I was fortunate enough to be able to collect some artifacts from this historic ship before it was sent to the scrap yard. The Arctic Discoverer is the ship that recovered tons of gold and artifacts from the"Ship of Gold" the SS Central America in 1988. The Arctic Discoverer has been featured on the History Channel on their show"History's Mysteries, Ship of Gold" It can also be seen in numerous pictures in the book"Americas Lost Treasure" by Tommy Thompson, the man who led the recovery expedition.
