Early. Copper& Brass Starboard Side Ships Lamp. This antique lamp was found at an estate sale in Henderson. NY on the eastern shore area of lake Ontario. The lamp is being offered as found for parts or refurbish or keep as is. The lamp stands 8.7/8" tall as is. The soot catcher or chimney cap is missing. The copper housing shows a lot of aged patina. There is a crack in the copper in the pierced trim that goes around the chimney(see image 9) The bottom door also has a split or crack(see image 5) The curved, green glass is in excellent condition for its age, just a few fine scratches and some dirt. This auction is for a very rare Miller brass binnacle hand lamp. The bottom removes with an oil lamp base with a simplex wick holder. It is signed E Miller Company made in USA and has a brand new wick. The oil lamp locks into the base. It has vent holes at the bottom and the top. It has a wood carrying handle and an Eisinglass/ isinglass front that is still intact. The lamp measures 8 ¼ inches with the handle up and 7 inches with the handle down and measures 2 ¾ inches in diameter. A ships binnacle lamp has no steel anywhere in it. It is made of all brass so that it would not interfere with the ships compass. This is a very rare piece, don't miss this opportunity to add this to your collection. It is is very good condition considering its age! It has a very nice patina to it and all of the glass is still intact. It also has all of the reflector plates on the inside lid. This is important because there are reproductions out there and they do not have the reflector plates. Reproductions also don't have the lead flaps at the tops of the glass panels to hold the glass in. The other thing to look for is the data plate. Reproductions are usually thin and cheesy looking. This lamp has the nice thick data plate. I did my research before buying this at the auction and am 100% confident that this is an original. In fact there is still some soot in the corners of the reflector ... moreplates to indicate that it was used. Measurements are 24" tall and 14" across. The lamp is complete with the inside oil lamp with original chimney and reflector. The lamp stands approx 18-3/4" to the top handle and approx 16-1/2" to the top of the lamps upper section. It weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs and the bracket approx 3 lbs +. It is in Good as found original condition- normal general wear but no real issues. Some light surface rust that will clean off. RARE Antique New England Whale Oil Ship's Lamp With Blue Fresnel Lens
This beautiful ships lamp measures approximately 16in.x9in. and was found in a seaside barn in Massachusetts. The lamp has a heavy blue/green fresnel lens in two pieces joined by some type of fiber caulking. The body and lens cage are made from a heavy metal and are painted aqua-green. There are a couple of chips in the seam of the lens but is otherwise fine. The overall condition is fair with some rust and pitting that could be cleaned and reprinted if desired. There is no sign of wiring so I assume this was meant to be lit by oil. I have never seen a similar lamp and can find no maker's mark. You simply mount the round brass circle to the wall and slip the oil lantern into it. Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Please view pictures to augment my description. It is not electrified and it is NOT a reproduction. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. Lantern has maker marks of"S.Co.Ltd. 1941" Im not sure if this is a ship lantern, railway lantern or what- I dont know much about these. Lantern is in great condition and all pieces seem to be there. Lantern measures 20" tall with handle extended up. The wick key is attached to side and wick turn knob works good. No broken glass on paynes and side door works good. 2 antique vintage nautical ship brass bell rocking oil electric lamp lights
Wonderful estate found matching pair of older heavy brass nautical ship oil lamps featuring a bell and a rounded base that rocks like a buoy. Both are converted to electricity and work well. The on/off switch has a large L on it(not sure what company this is) These are in very good condition and measure about 9" tall with a 5" base. GREAT LOOKING AND FUNCTIONAL.
