Nautical Lamp Handcrafted Ship Wheel with Lighthouse Clock great for Boat Cabin
This lamp was handcrafted by my husband who is a licensed electrician. The base of it is made of Teak Wood trimed in decorative cord. The ships wheel part is made of silver colored metal and has a battery operated clock in it(1 AA included) The picture in the center is of the Point Judith Light House in RI. It has a blue fabric shade also trimed in decorative cord. The base of the lamp has two screw holes just slightly under the cord for permanent mounting in the cabin of a boat. Would also be great in a little boys sailor themed room or even at a beach house. It is 15 1/2 inches from the base to the top of the shade. Here is a D.H.R. Dean Haan of Rotterdam. The lantern is brass. Not polished, has patina. On the bottom is the makers mark, Made in Holland. On either side it is embossed with a windmill. The lantern stands about 11" and 5 1/4" wide. On the back is a key hole notch for hanging. The wick is still intact and the turn knob works. The glass chimney is about 10 1/4" tall and the base is 2" wide. On the chimney is written cristal Prima. There are some spots of tarnish and a small scuff in the front. Otherwise, in good condition. 19th Century Riverboat / Steamship Brass Cabin Lantern or Lamp
Offered is an original. 1800's era steamboat cabin lamp. I got this years ago from a ship salvage worker who told me he took it off of a 19th century Sacramento River paddle wheeler in the delta area. It looks to have the original rippled glass globe and the brass has nice patina. Looks like someone tried to electrify it at some point in it's life. This piece was purchased at an estate sale of a collector. I don't know much about it except that it is rare and vintage from the 1960s-70s. I was told that it is extremely rare to see a 7" lantern lamp piece designed as an electric table lamp. The lantern is signed and numbered"kingedwheel" No. 350.made in japan. see pix The condition is excellent for its age. With the only noticable wear being on the brass pole above wooden ball. See photos for details. The lamp has slide on/ off switch The height of the entire lamp is 24. The top has a screw on brass cap to hold the shade in place. Antique Vintage Ship Cabin Tabletop Lamp With Bell Rare Nice Works
This is a genuine old nautical tabletop bell lamp that was designed not to turnover in rough seas. It also has a working bell at the top. I suppose the bell would ring as the seas became rough enough to rock the lamp around. Thus waking the sleeping occupant of the cabin and alerting them to the conditions(just a guess on my part) Either way. This is one cool and rare old lamp! It appears to be in original condition. The cord is old and frayed and probably should be changed. But I did not want to alter the originality. The lamp does work. As you can see in the photos. It has a switch on one side. Frosted glass shade and a bell on the top. You can't knock this thing over! It just rolls until it comes back to its upright position. Please review the detailed listing photos. This Vintage Brass Gimbal Oil Cabin Lamp was manufactured by Sherwoods LTD. of Birmingham. England, in the early 1900′s. Sherwoods was one of the largest manufacturers of new lighting devices in England, producing oil lamps, lanterns, and burners. They went into business in 1902, but unfortunately went out of business in 1932. Cabin oil lamp with smoke Bell W/Bracket, Shade, wick, Gimbal mount and glass chimney. The lamp has a heavy weighted bottom. Lamp with Chimney is 16 1/4" Tall.This has been in my collection for 40 years.
