RARE Vintage Lantern Light Buoy Piling Ship Anchor Dock Nautical Galv. Brass
Up for auction today is vintage nautical lantern. Different people call these types by such names as; buoy. Piling, master head, anchor, or dock lantern/ light. I am not sure of the proper name or use for this lantern. Can you inform me? It measures 17 ½” tall. The bottom is 8” in diameter, the top is 7 ½” in diameter, the lens is 4 ¾” tall(the exposed portion) and the lens is approx 5” in diameter. The lens is a dark ruby red and I see no cracks or chips. The body is galvanized metal with the rings. Latching hardware and the top ring of bottom portion being made of brass. There is a makers mark on the inside but some is missing and I cannot tell by what I can read who the maker is. Do you know? I assume that it was battery operated but there is no battery or wiring that is visible. I did not take the top portion apart and ... moredo not know if there is a bulb inside. The one photo that shows the lens bright was held up to the sun. The lantern is in good overall condition with some oxidation and rust as shown. Some tarnish. Scuffs/etc and three brackets screwed into the base. A small ding or two that I wouldn't call dents, but you may. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. Antique 1800s Nautical Post Lantern Lighthouse Lamp Ship Mast Anchor Light Brass
Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. This is a large nautical lantern measuring 14" tall and 6" wide. It is in"as found" condition with a dark patina on the brass, dirty glass, small dents, tiny cracks in the brass, and various other age/use related marks. US Navy WWII Masthead Light and Anchor Class III for Torpedo Boats 1944
This is a Masthead Light and Anchor. Class III, modified 9-S-5497-L under Lights-Running, Anchor and Signal. This is listed in a parts specification catalog at the Historical Navy Ship Assoc site. This goes on a Motor Torpedo Boat PT 617 Class 565-624 Series"Elco" 80 foot gun boat for the US Navy. Specs were issued in 1944. This is a very cool piece though it is very old and shows its age well. Heave metal frame work with thick glass globe. There are some small chips in the glass in several places. Look at pictures closely as I tried to put them in the photos. No light inside, understand it should be red. Did not try to open it or clean it in any way. Original paint is chipping and it has rust. But if your collecting this sort of thing, it is very cool. Has the part number on the top if you want to look it up. It measures 7 1/2" ... moretall by about 6" wide.

Heavy Antique Bronze Marine Deck / Anchor Light / Lamp- Tugboat or Lighthouse
This heavy bronze lamp has sliding panels side and bottom which both slide properly. Top threads off to reveal fixture which was probably a fixed porcelain socket originally. This lamp is excellent throughout with no damage. Dents or repairs. Weighs almost 10 pounds. I've included a soda can for scale reference. Measures 13" to the top of the handle. Solid Brass Anchor Light No. 1235 Great Britian 1919
This antique solid brass anchor light No.1235 Great Britian 1919 hung in a home on Douglas Island in Alaska for many years. Originally it most likely was used as an oil burning lamp with a globe which was removed for converting to electric lighting. The brass name plate and fresnel lens are the outstanding features that give this light character. The brass has aged nicely and still is good looking.

Perko style Anchor Light, c. 1900-1910
A nice c. 1900-1910 Anchor Light in clean condition. All original, brass and galvanized steel with brass fittings. Original Simplex burner in good working condition. About 15” high overall with 4 ½” wide and 5” high Fresnel lens. There is a small flake or chip on one spot of the lens. About 3/8” wide but no crack or other damage. Some twists of the vertical protection rods, probably from heavy use, but doesn't harm in any way. No makers name but it appears to be a Perkins Marine or possibly an earlier H.A.J. Helvig(whose lights were sold by Perkins until Perkins bought Helvig out) All original and clean, see pictures. I’ll ship to U.S. and Canada, Hawaii, Alaska and Canada extra cost.

This is a 1919 No 1935 Great Britain antique maritime lamp. This lamp has been converted to electric and is in good working condition. Bulb is included. This solid brass lamp is fairly heavy and high quality construction. Brass does have some staining and tarnish on it and underneath has more tarnish that is green in color so it will need polishing this lamp. Cleaning and polishing of this lamp will be the responsibility of the buyer to do. I am not going to clean or polish this lamp at all before shipping this lamp to the buyer so please look closely at the condition of this lamp by checking photos closely before purchasing. This lamp stands at about 13 and 1/4 inches tall not including top hanger. With top hanger extended this lamp stands at about 16 inches tall. Black with is underneath of lamp. Antique Peter Gray Maritime Nautical Red Globe Anchor Lantern Light Great Lakes?
Just out of a local house is this antique Maritime Ships lamp. It was made by Peter Gray around 1890 or perhaps earlier. The lantern is galvanized with old red paint. It has a Fresnel glass globe that is clear on the outside and cased with a layer or red glass on the inside. I have seen these listed in our lantern books listed as Great Lakes lights. Navy Lanterns, Stern, or Anchor lights. This light measures about 19 3/4 inches tall. 7 inches across the base, and about 7 1/2 inches at its widest. It is in good condition but has some oxidation, some damage where the bottom of the cage meets the base, and the lens has a chip. See photos. The font has an unusual burner marked Gray Boston. There is only minor surface rust on the galvanized parts with no rust thru. The top ring is brass plated, the top is solid brass as are the protector rods over the glass. It may have a little brass. I rewired it and have a new 50W bulb which I think is too bright. It works. I rewired it as a hall light. With a cord less than 2 feet long. The bottom has two screws making the inside easy to access. This light would hang from a wall mounted arm. The light itself is 5 inches tall and 6" if you include the ring on top. I believe the glass is actually glass and not plexiglass. Also shown in the last two pictures are the pair. Vintage ship's mast/anchor light
This is a nice vintage mast light that I salvaged off of an old work boat. It is an old school solid chunk of bronze and heavy glass with brass guide rods to tie the whole thing together. There's not much to it really, but if you're restoring an old boat then this thing is a must have. If you've got a nautical theme in your man cave you probably want this above the bar. Of course if you're in need of a porch light, this will do a bang up job and probably outlast the house you put it on. Comes with enough 3/16" packing to seal up any cord you run through the packing gland in the base.

This is a beautiful copper and brass kerosine anchor light with a nice aged patina. It is in is in excellent condition. There are no dents. Cracks or missing parts. All parts are made with heavy gauge copper and brass. The lens is thick heavy glass. You can see some small air bubbles inside the glass) This is truly a quality lamp that will last for many years. Vintage Copper Marine Light Lantern Made in Hong Kong Probably Anchor
I don't know anything about this lantern. I looked in my lantern book. And it looks right for an anchor light. The book says they were usually brass, but this one, where there is any finish left, looks much more like copper. The only marking is on the bottom and it reads Hong Kong. The glass is intact, and very thick and heavy. There is no burning unit inside, and it's not electrified, so I don't know how it was ever used to burn anything. There is a vent on the top that opens to the inside, that is missing its' top cover. There are no holes in the body of the lamp, but lots of rust. This is about 9 1/2" tall. It's neat, and I've not seen one like it, but I have no idea how it works. When you shake the lamp, you can hear rust flakes inside the sealed tank. Here is a neat. Old maritime light. It's a wall-mounted light. The casing around the glass is aluminum. I'm pretty sure the anchor on top is brass. The glass is ribbed.it has no cracks or breaks. I do not see a Maker's name anywhere.so I couldn't tell you who made it. Right now it is wired to just be plugged into a socked.someone put the end on it. You can easily wire it directly to the wall, if desired. It uses one standard size bulb. From the base to the top of the anchor measures approx. 9 1/2" tall. The glass.the part that is showing) is about 3" tall and 4" in diameter. The center of the glass sort-of'bubbles' outward. No cracks or breaks. Vintage Maritime Brass Wall Light Fixture with Anchor Rare!
I have never seen a light quite like this one! All I can do is give you measurements and I hope I can make them sound understandable to you. The part that goes against the wall is 4 1/2" in diameter. The center of the Anchor from the wall plate to the center point 4 1/4" From the base of the light to the outer tip of the curved point is 2 3/4" The area where the ceramic bulb holder sets is also 4 1/2" diameter. The old ceramic bulb holder can still be used but the wires are frayed. The widest overall distance from the wall to the outermost area of the fixture is 6 1/2" Hope you can make sense of this and thanks for looking!

This vintage Seahorse Anchor light lantern is salty and original. It is 23 1/2" tall with loop and is very rare. The patina is very nice and shows that this is the real deal. It was purchased from the estate of a northwestern salvage co. owner. The glass is excellent and very thick and heavy and the light weighs 16 lbs.
