Up for sale today we are pleased to be offering an Antique Copper Riveted R.C. Murray& Co PORT Side Ship Maritime Lantern/Lamp with Clear Lens. This is in original un-restored condition. This is labeled on front: PORT LAMPADS No 552 RC Murray& Co Limited 37 Cavendish St Glasgow Etched on the glass on the front of the lens is MWGW Ltd. S.L.C. 118 There is some denting. There is oxidation causing some nice green patina mostly around the edges but there are no rust holes. There is a seam split near the bottom underneath the lens and you can see through to the inside as it is split across the front and open in some areas though not in others. There is noticeable dirt and some rust on the inside from years of storage. The lens has some chips but none of them go through. There are three which are noticeable and the rest of the lens is in ... moregood condition. It measures 21" high X 14" across X 14" deep. Diameter across the top is 5 3/8" approximately. Vintage Perko De-Lite Ship's Running Lamp - Port Starboard Combination
This is a vintage Perko De-Lite running lamp with red and green ribbed glass. It has a dividing plate between the port and starboard lenses. Inside there is a brass oil lantern- in very good condition- minimal interior rust- made by Simplex. It still has the wick- also in good condition. Behind the oil lantern there is a socket for a light bulb(6 or maybe 12 volt) The access doors are brass- the body is galvanized. The ring at the top does move easily- latches on doors also work great. Measurements approx. 5" wide x 5" deep x 9 1/2" tall- not including divider on the front or ring on top- just lamp itself. It weighs a little over 12 pounds. I'm not sure if it's copper or brass. It's also very LARGE. It measures about 13 1/2" tall, 13 3/4" wide and is approximately 9 1/2" deep from each corner to the back. It was a originally a kerosene or oil ship's lantern. It's an amazing light! It's in excellent working condition, it's been newly re-wired& has an antique switch in the front(converted to electric) The switch is turned to right each time you want to turn it off or no. It has a removable red port glass(see photos of it turned on, with and without the red glass) The clear glass has a small 1/2" chip in one of the ... moreribbed sections; it's a very heavy thick glass so this does not compromise anything. Near the top of the lamp there's an emblem that has the numbers"3883" There is also some etching on both the clear and red glass. I wonder if this belonged to a military ship. As most items on those ships were marked with serial#s etc. The writing on each glass piece says"DHJE 3883, No. 654, E.31.5.61" It's not very noticable and you can't see it unless you really look; it's not seen when the light is on. Condition wise.it's vintage! There are a few dings& dents. Some areas of wear etc.but considering it was a ship light, it's going to have a weathered old look, which I personally prefer. Vintage Tung Woo PORT Lantern I recovered this Tung Woo port-side lantern from a sunken pipe barge while working off the coast of Borneo in the South China Sea in 1971. From it’s configuration it appears to have always been an electric lantern. I used it with a small battery light for a little evening ambiance on the deck table. So no heat damage from using it with candles. From the number of mounting holes(see last photo) it had a long service use history before I salvaged it. My guess is early post WWII. It has a heavy clear glass lens with an internal removable curved glass red filter. It’s got dents. Dimples and a wonky corner, decades of stains from living outside but no gouges or deep scratches. Vintage Starboard Ship Kerosene Lantern Light Lamp Port Blue Glass Brass 21" BIG
Vintage ship's starboard lantern in a unique tri-plex shape. One of the largest I've seen at 21" from base to finial. 11" x 11" square with the typical curved front. Thick blue glass(not an interchangeable light filter) with horizontal grooves. Brass trim and a brass finial with hanging ring. Great"keyhole" vent holes throughout. Suffers from an untidy paint job and is in need of some updating. Missing original kerosene lamp and has been converted with a light socket. Needs new electrical cord. Brass has a lovely patina and there is still some vintage kerosene soot on the inside of this lamp. There is a small spot on the bottom by a switch of some sort that corrosion has eaten through the metal. But it's repairable and not endemic to the rest of the lantern. Glass is free of cracks or chips.

There is a socket on the inside that illuminates the red glass and I must say that it looks incredible lit up. Obviously there is a socket at the top as well that will require the lamp shade of your choosing to complete the piece. I chose not to clean and scrub the piece so as to depict the age and authenticity more clearly. This is absolutely not a reproduction. Rare Vintage NY & NJ Port Authority Red Lamp Light Beacon Nautical Airports
For auction is a rare Light/Lamp/Beacon. From the New York and New Jersey Port Authority. It's used but in great shape and DOES WORK! I tested it with a 6 volt battery, but its probably designed for a 9 or 12. I'm not sure what this was for exactly, but some kind of signal, possibly for a port, an airport, or one of the bridges/tunnels. It's all steel, and has a glass globe on top with a red plastic insert. It measures 8 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide, and about 12 inches tall including the globe. It's made tough, weighing 8 pounds. It has a toggle switch on the top. It doesn't blink but does turn on steady. It's supposed to blink but there may be a wiring error or an issue with the relay. There is also some rust on the bottom of the battery box but no holes. These are obsolete and acquired legally. However, there are two old solder repairs to the two burner spring clips, and at some point someone cut a crude hole in the bottom hinged cover plate for an electric wire. Glass lenses appear to be the originals and are in good condition with NO cracks or chips. Still in very nice overall condition, just needs cleaning and polishing-if desired. Here is a great vintage Perko port side ship lantern. It has a couple of dings and dents but still shows well. It also has a small chip in red lens at the top. Antique Authentic Red Port-Side Ship Lantern/Lamp, Nice
This ship lantern has red lens which is in good shape; no noted chips or cracks. The bottom opens where the"oil lamp" was kept. This antique lantern has not been restored; rather. It is in its natural state after many years of use. The lantern is likely handmade/handcrafted and I would say it is from the early 20th century. I believe it is made of tinned iron and brass. The original brass oil/kerosene burner is in great original condition. I am unsure whether this lantern is a Perko marine lamp; it is unmarked from what I could determine. The port-side light was likely used on small river and harbor craft such as water taxis or tug boats. It measures approximately 10.25" in height to the top of the ring; 6" in width at the widest point; and, 4.5" in depth. The lantern is shaped to fit in a corner; there is a hanging ... moremount on one rear side. Please look at the photos I have attached. Marine Oil lamp from old port,stabord, lantern with flange burner & chimney
You are bidding on the oil lamp only! Not the lantern shown in the last pitcher. The picture of the lantern was borrowed from another dealer(with his permission) to show what the lantern that it came out of looked like. The Old Marine oil lamp is in mint condition. It is signed PERKO on the bottom of the lamp. The burner is signed Made in the USA and I think Miller but it is very hard to read. The rod going across the bottom Pick# 3 is to screw and lock the lamp in place in the lantern. The ends of the rod Pick#4 sticking out on either side are used to lock the lamp into the lantern. The lamp is 3 3/4" high 5 1/2" to the top of the burner 10 3/4" to thr top of the chimney and 4" in diameter. The burner will screw into a standard $2 collar.
