Some tarnish. Scuffs/etc and three brackets screwed into the base. A small ding or two that I wouldn't call dents, but you may. Approximately 10 inches across the bottom and 19 inches tall- 21 inches if you count the top handle- more if you count the bottom handle: I do not know if the oil burner works or ever was supposed to work. This is a GE Novalux copper brass marine spot light. It has survived a attack by a squadron of red rider packing boy scouts and has multiple bb gun shots to the body and 3 in the lens. It has been rewired with a 110 heavy duty 3 prong cord. It has a sylvania 1000 watt bulb in it that works. The front glass is 15 1/2 inches across. It is approximately 27 inches tall on the stand and approximately 20 inches deep. It is hard to measure due to its shape. All the pieces are there that I can tell. It is a very cool piece of history. Up for sale is a Vintage Antique Tung Woo Stern Nautical Maritime Ship Lantern Light. I'm not sure if this is copper or brass or its age. It looks like copper. Lantern is marked"Tung Wood, Hong Kong, Stern" It measures approximately 8 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide. Cosmetically, it's in vintage condition(shows some wear, minor dings etc. It could use a good cleaning! There are no chips or cracks in the glass. The lantern has not been tested. This auction is for an antique lantern. Made by J Vogels& ... moreBoon of Nassau, Anvers which is in Belgium. A small tag is on the top of it with the name of the company, and the top also has a serial number on it. This is probably a marine lamp, originally made of copper and brass and painted black on the outside. This has a heavy glass Fresnel lens that goes all the way around the source of light inside, which is currently an electrical light bulb, which we believe was a later addition to this piece. The electrical cord has been cut and tied in a knot, so it would need to be rewired, or you can easily remove the socket. The swing handle is made of heavy wrought iron. This lantern, which stands approx. 11.25" tall and 7.5" in diameter, has been put to work in its past, and shows scars of close encounters with various dings and bends. This would be a great candidate for cleaning and restoration, but we couldn't find any other examples of this particular lamp, so we are calling this rare. Good Luck! Marine Corner Lantern - Starboard - Green - Copper top- Nickel? Steel? Base
This vintage marine lantern is a corner piece. The green glass indicates that it is a starboard light. It is comprised of copper at the top and appears to be nickel or steel for the body. There is a bottom hatch that opens in order to place a candle to illuminate the green glass. Bottom hatch does not stay tightly closed on its own so I would suggest securing it closed if you intend to use a candle in it. The lantern is 11" tall and 6" at its widest. This vintage marine lantern would be a great addition to any nautical collection. It would look smashing high on the wall in the corner of the room to give ambient lighting. Nice RARE Antique COPPER lamp searchlight from the turn of the century. Beautiful original condition but untested and will likely need restoration in order to function at 100% The glass measures approx. 6" in diameter and the COPPER housing is nearly 6 1/2" deep. The unit is approximately 17" tall from top to bottom. THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE WEIGHS NEARLY 7 POUNDS! Now that's a lot of copper! Because of it's QUALITY EARLY AMERICAN BUILD The mechanical functions work very well. Push the handle up and down and the lamp housing aims upwards and downwards. Turn the handle left or right and the housing turns left and right. The original electrical wiring is still attached. This is a very cool and very unique piece of antique American History. Later National Marine absorbed a company called American Lamp and Brass. According to Hobson, but the“American” name died with the acquisition. Fredrick Perkins became president of National in 1913. Old Perko lantern ready for display/use. This piece was wired as a light but I removed the wiring because it was faulty. It can very easily be rewired or I think a candle glowing inside would make this piece. Typical wear for this piece few dents and cracks in copper. The glass is original and has a nick near bottom ridge(pictured) The glass is marked Perko. The very bottom is missing one clip and there is a bees tiny nest in top. i was able to remove most of it but a small piece remains. Measures aprox. 14.5 inches tall. This does not include the handle. I will have another Perko lantern and other great nautical pieces and more listed. All of the glass is intact with no chips or cracks. The clear one has some imperfections in the finish. They are all missing the oil or Kerosene burning assembly from the inside. Vintage Copper Marine Light Lantern Made in Hong Kong Probably Anchor
I don't know anything about this lantern. I looked in my lantern book. And it looks right for an anchor light. The book says they were usually brass, but this one, where there is any finish left, looks much more like copper. The only marking is on the bottom and it reads Hong Kong. The glass is intact, and very thick and heavy. There is no burning unit inside, and it's not electrified, so I don't know how it was ever used to burn anything. There is a vent on the top that opens to the inside, that is missing its' top cover. There are no holes in the body of the lamp, but lots of rust. This is about 9 1/2" tall. It's neat, and I've not seen one like it, but I have no idea how it works. When you shake the lamp, you can hear rust flakes inside the sealed tank. Very nice set of vintage lanterns. In decent shape. A very few minor blemishes. One has a green bulb and the other has a red one. Made of copper or tin. Do not think they are brass. Very light weight. On the lanterns"Starboard" and"Port" are etched. Do not know much about these. They are old and say Hong Kong on the bottoms. No other markings. I only came across two other sets identical to these online. That where sold in the past. So they are rare. They have been in storage for a few years so are in very good condition.
