ANTIQUE NAUTICAL SHIPS LIGHT LAMP - SHIP SALVAGE- RARE
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This light was purchased at an estate sale where most of my other auction listing came from.I was told by the folks selling that this was a ships lamp or light and would have been in a cabin onboard a ship. I cannot find any others to compare it to on ebay and there are no markings on the light other than on the socket inside the lamp and on the side as shown are the letters P&O. I am not sure if this was a gas type light or not. Although it has a socket where a bulb or something would have fit but on the side of the light it looks like a flint or sparker. The light will need the chrome trim cleaned.Sorry I am not much help here, please see the pictures and maybe someone out there can tell me more. The works are mounted on a nice piece of oak and there are exposed wires etc on the back. It appears ... morethe glass is missing however the clip holder to hold the glass guard in is in the metal hood. The metal hood is hinged and has holes to let the heat escape. The light measures 11" long x 5" wide and weighs unpackaged 3-1/2 pounds.At the top of the light is a knob that can be turned to control the brightness i am guessing. Clear perko Fresnel lens in great condition with no cracks. This lens is a full cylinder. This lantern is just over 6" tall and is 4.25" across the b ottom. I have made no attempts to polish or repair this lamp. This is the condition i found it in. This piece will make a great little project for someone who likes to tinker with things. Or just leave it the way it is, as it's still charming!

Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. It has a thick Fresnel lens that is turning purpl e with age and it has a crack in it that is stable. Doesn't detract much from the old lamp. Still displays beautifull y.With a r ich patina that adds to the salty character. This Perko lamp was made in Brooklyn. New York a long time ago and after being at sea for many years. Parts of the housing is brass and some pieces are steel. There is some rust here and there. Hard to tell through the navy gray paint. The glass has scratches and scuff but no cracks. This is a wall model gimble 1930's vintage ships lamp that was refurbished about 30 years ago and lacquered. A nice lamp for display or use. Originally appears to have been an oil or candle type lamp but an electrical socket was added and cord would have to be added. May prefer to go back to the original version. Very nice condition.

Offered for your bidding consideration is a vintage ships/boat lamp made by Kilborn Sauer. This lamp is located in Stockton. California. Which in tonage, is the 4th busiest port on the West Coast. In the early days of California Stockton was the hub. Many regarded Stockton as the in-land San Francisco. It was a rough place and full of vice. Many different forms of boats and ships, from sailing vessels to large paddlewheelers made their way to Stockton bringing people and goods. During WWII there were no less than two shipyards making destroyers, balloon barges and tugs for the U.S. Navy. Stockton was also home to the Stephen's Bros. Boat Builders from 1902 to 1987. Wonderful vintage Tung Woo. Hong Kong, copper ships lantern. This one is marked"Anchor. 9" high x 4.5" wide or 22 cm x 13 cm Some of the copper has"greened' and spread to cover other parts. I was able to wipe most of it off easily with a wet rag. This shows some wear and age. I have sold and shipped a lot of fragile items. The Morse Lamp is similar to the type of signal used on the Titanic to send SOS signals to the Californian which were distorted per the following: The Titanic's crew then attempted to signal the Californian with a powerful electric Morse lamp. But the crew of the Californian was unable to decipher the series of flashing signals. As the carefully timed flashes arrived distorted and jumbled. 1,500 people who died in the disaster could still have been saved even after the collision with the iceberg but the cold-water mirage made the ship's SOS Morse Lamp signal appear to the crew of the Californian to be the mast flickering under the stars or ordinary lights on deck.

PAIR BRASS HANGING SHIPS LANTERN LIGHT LAMP EARLY ELECTRIC BIG AND HEAVY BOAT
ok here today we have 2 early electric large heavy brass ships lanterns. please I am not an expert on maritime so if i make any errors let me know. these stand 14 inches to the top of the handle and almost 11 inches when the handle is down. the diameter of the base is 7 1/4 and the height of the actual glass globe inside is 5 3/4 inches and the diameter of the globe is 4 inches the op cap is held on with 4 thumb screws most of which are good. a couple have some thread loss and do not grip well. one lantern has an additional screw on piece on the top of the cap to accept the electric line. the bottom has a hinged cover with glass insert. unknown if it is original. each lantern has a small hinge on the bottom so you can open and close the hatch to change bulbs. one hinge is missing 1 screw.the othe issue is the handle is broken off on 1 lantern ... morebut i do have it and it can be welded back on. please look at the photos and ask me questions.if you need a specific photo of any part let me know. I did show photos of the broken off handle the mechanism still functions just need to reattach the handle. the shade is 2 part mold glass clear and free of any damage.there are no markings that would help me identify the manufacturer or ship. they will be shipped separately and the total shipping is 45 dollars' No international sales, I go to great lengths to call all issues even some that really are not,so that we are all on the same page when looking at these lanterns

It is in fine working condition, but as with all vintage items, it is imperfect. I cannot speak as to its age: the 1842 in the name is probably the founding date of the company. Ships Brass Cargo Lamp, unused. Hurricane lamp. "NO 3954, GREAT BRITAIN 1939"
Brass cargo lamp. Hurricane lamp. Never used. Consists of a small brass oil lamp enclosed in an armored brass housing. The top of the housing tips back, the lamp can be partially lifted and the chimney assembly tips back to light the wick. Or, the lamp can easily be completely lifted out of the assembly. Rivets hold brass rods that protect the glass windows. The assembly and hinge are riveted together. A brass chain holds the latch, and the window panes are original. The chimney of the oil lamp has small waves and bubbles in it, and the heavy brass castings for the rope tie-offs suggest it is old. It is all riveted together with brass rivets. There are no stamps or words that I could find anywhere on the lamp or housing beyond the heavy brass plaque riveted to the top, Cargo Light. NO 3954, GREAT BRITAIN, 1939" I bought this lamp in ... more1984 but never used it. It will burn whale oil. Lamp oil, or undyed kerosene a.k.a. parrafin oil. With the handle folded down, it is approximately 15" high, X 9" across the castings, X 7 1/2" The small lamp inside is approximately 10" high X 4" in diameter.
