Antique PERKO Brass Adjustable Marine Spot Light Boat Search Light Nautical
This is a really cool old Perko marine spotlight or searchlight. It is solid brass and I think the light holder is a cast red brass. I couldn't find anything on the light that a magnet would stick too. It seems to be structurally in good condition. The brass could use cleaning and polishing as there's a lot of patina to the brass. The thin strip around the top and bottom of the light have some small slits. Maybe for fitting the brass around the body of the light. The light is also adjustable to be able to aim the light. The half label on the back is a Perko label. Heavy and well made. It has a GE bulb and I was told it works. The wiring is frayed and you should definitely have it checked out or rewired if you're planning on using it as a light though. See the pictures for more detail. This Antique Warner-Patterson Nautical Search Light is in very good condition. The large hinge that opens and closes the lens cover works fine. This search light and lens is in original condition. It has not been re-finished and retains it's original patina. It is safe to assume that it was in water a lot. Warner-Patterson made this thick glass lens in 1916 when it was first produced. I estimate it's age including the metal cover to be 1916 through the 1920s. It does not contain the original light. Which was replaced by a more modern red light bulb. The wiring from the light bulb to plug looks like it is from the 1950s era from the shape of the plug. The metal is attracted to a magnet. After it is plugged in you can open the cover and turn the light on if you like. Do not close the lens cover too tightly or it will be difficult to ... moreopen again. May have had a thin brass coating at one time. 12" red glass lens is in great shape and is pebbled inside. Entire light measures 23" tall and is 15" front to back. There are three large clip hinges that hold the lens rim in place. At the top of the light you can see the two small stationary hinges(one is broken) so that the lens and trim ring can be lifted up but remain attached. Even though one of these is broken. The lens and trim ring are held securely by not only the remaining hinge but the three much larger ... moresnap hinges at the top and sides of the light. The light has an iron base with four big screws for mounting. There used to be a mercury glass reflector that fit the back of the light's interior. Only shards of it were left when I found this light. The gentlemen I purchased it from said his mother had aluminum foil inside for a reflector. She had it mounted on their boat dock and they used it to find their way home. The light has a long industrial electric cord on it and works great(see pics) Light has a great look! They don't make them like this anymore! I have not attempted to clean or polish the brass housing. But with a bit of elbow grease, it would probably shine up. Weighs 24 pounds unboxed. Wonderful antique searchlight by GE. Plate on front reads PROJECTOR No 27904. DL 1899954-1 TYPE PC 18 FORM can't make out training circuit volts Aug.19.19 GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY CO. The carbide mechanism is long gone but this light has been repurposed with a new 110volt Socket with an Edison style bulb. Looks great. Original concave mirror still in place. The glass in the brass front ring has been replaced with 1/4" plexiglass. The base is not original to the piece, the base was custom fabricated to display this light. The light measures 22 1/2" in diameter and 22 1/2 deep. The light stands an impressive 6 ft tall. The light assembly still oscillates and can be pointed up or down like it was originally intended. We offer you this Nautical Gem, an Original Antique American 19th century to World War 1/ WWI US Naval Kerosene Search Light, in near mint condition(see condition description) As found condition, comming with other military lots we have listed up for Penny Auctions right now. This type of search light was used by all branches of Navy, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. Impressive specimen, this one guarantees it was made for a more important/ wealthy clientelle. Equiped with all original pieces, dissasembles as you can see in the last set of photos. Canister on bottom unscrews, so does the top, and the very top(reticulated mushroom ... morevent cap) The gmagnifying glass in the front is present, and nice, held in by the"scissor" mechanisam safety(round) wire, which comes out the side, end by squeezing them together, realeases the glass. On two sides of the glass are two magnificent large jewels, one Green and one Red, signifying the traditional"Starboard" and"Port" side. Below the head of the lamp is a lever which could go three ways, as the signes say to"off" to the left, water" in the middle and"on" to the right. Lever moves like a charm, and it has a saw bracket above, to hold it in place at desired strength. Below the lever is the Mounting Clamp going outward on a slight angle, which is made of different much stronger metal, and displays different aging(slight rust) Bottom canister is fine, unscrews like a charm. Size is large 7.75" tall, 5.5" deep with the clamp, 3" deep without and 3.5" wide. Glass rim is 3.5" and glass is 2.5" diameter. Antique Vintage Spot Search Signal Light World War I Era. Handheld Semaphore This spot light is from the estate of a collector of military signal. Semaphore and search lights. We plugged it in and as you can see from the photos it works and is very bright. The bulbs are 12v bayonet style which can still be found at radio shack and automotive stores. The transformer converts 110v AC to 12v DC and has a North American style electricity outlet plug. The lamp has a site tube along the top for aiming the signal light. It also has a cover on a hinge which snaps shut for semaphore signaling or covering the light emitted. The electric cord is brown cloth covered and original. The transformer is mounted midway along the cord and is very interestingly made of diode plates covered in a tin case with a wooden base. The paint on the lamp is original and ... morecolored military olive brown. There are no dates or maker's marks on the lamp or transformer. They certainly don't make them like this anymore. Beautiful original condition but untested and will likely need restoration in order to function at 100% The glass measures approx. 6" in diameter and the COPPER housing is nearly 6 1/2" deep. The unit is approximately 17" tall from top to bottom. THIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE WEIGHS NEARLY 7 POUNDS! Now that's a lot of copper! Because of it's QUALITY EARLY AMERICAN BUILD The mechanical functions work very well. Push the handle up and down and the lamp housing aims upwards and downwards. Beautiful survivor Large Antique Search Light Nautical Industrial Light
True survivor here with this awesome antique large search light that I rescued from a basement. I cannot find any makers mark on it. The heavy thick glass is embossed with TOP SPREDLITE TM REG US PAT OFF. The glass lense is apprx 15" and is all good free from any breaks or cracks. As is the complete unit. Comes with a bulb and the inside reflector looks great. The handles are stamped with numbers. This beauty stands apprx 25 1/2" tall to the top of the hinges. Apprx 23" wide from outside handle to the other handle. All original down to the wire. However the wire has been cut and will need to be rewired. Not sure if it still works but I see no reason why it wouldn't after being rewired. Has an awesome look& patina to it with the cast metal bracket ring and it's 3 hole foot base& handles. Antique Authentic Nautical Ships Search Spot Light -chrome on BRASS-circa 30's
Here for sale is a beautiful ANTIQUE SHIPS SPOT or SEARCH LIGHT-right out of the 1930's era. SUPER COLLECTIBLE OR USEABLE LIGHT WITH TONS OF CHARACTER! Appears to be in GREAT SHAPE- chrome over BRASS and glass is all good. Missing 1 wing nut from the front cover(other 3 are there) Has almost 4 feet of attached 2-strand wire. Swivels fine-with a sturdy swivel handle in the back. Has a lever on the right and bottom to lock in place. Also has original mounting plate that is triangular in shape. Moves right-left and up-down fine. Nearly 15inches tall-light case is over 8inches in diameter and total width is 10inches. Weight=9lbs. selling a great large Crouse Hinds vintage industrial nautical light. This is in vintage estate used condition, does show some signs of wear, age and storage, normal wear some scratches and paint loss here or there some spots on the finish, glass Pyrex lens is in good shape no damage, wires in direct, wires appear to be good but this has not been tested, measures roughly 23" high by 17" wide takes a 500 watt bulb does have one in it now, the screw clamps all work really well, easily screw in and out, Marked well, Pyrex glass lens is good no breaks or cracks great piece could use a bit of cleaning if preferred wonderful patina, nice nautical light, this could be shipped or you can do a pick up which ever works better for you

The bulb is not the correct one that would typically go in this spot light. We purchased this from a man that worked with large boats and salvaged parts from them. Revised ONLY to update and correct the shipping weight and dimensions this weighs 37 pounds boxed and will be about 25" by 22" by 20" boxed selling a great Crouse Hinds vintage industrial nautical light. This is offered as Local Pick Up Only. And is located in Cleveland, Ohio This is a Vintage Carlisle& Finch Search Light. It was removed from a Great Lakes Freighter before the ship was scrapped, and has been sitting in my garage for over 25 years. The Search Light measures 21 inches by 18 3/4 inches, and has an 18 inch glass. The post with yoke measures 77 inches tall. The Search Light is in very good condition ready for restoration.
