Has a handle on the top to hang. And on the bottom it fits into slots to hold a kerosene or oil with wick. Top opens. There are no nicks or chips in the glass but some loss to color on the red and green see photos. Extremely great piece and would be great in your home for lighting or patio or boat. Air holes in the base for oxygen. Very large it measures 12 and 1/4" tall. Antique MARITIME NAUTICAL SHIP LANTERN Red Glass Copper & Brass
Up for bids is a great marine piece- an antique ship lantern. This nautical lantern is made of brass and copper metals and a beautiful piece of red onion glass. It has a sloped top which keeps water and rain from the inside of it. The red onion glass is encompassed by protective brass pieces which prevent it from being damaged when it swings. This lantern also has both the top pivoting brass hanger. AND the bottom one. I see very few of these lanterns that were made with these, and if so they no longer have the bottom one. At some point someone has removed the kerosene drum/holder and started the process of making this electrical. I have not attempted to complete this. It is fitted with a very simple bulb holder and a turning switch which still turns and clicks. This has in no means detracted from the beauty of this lantern and will make ... moreit simpler to electrify if someone chooses to do so. This lantern is in fantastic vintage condition. It has wear associated and common with its age but overall really nice! If someone chooses to polish this it will shine like new. The glass is in very good condition. It has some wear marks. Rough spots, or minor chipping on the rims/edges but no breaks. The wear is only from where it is fitted into the copper ends. These marks are not seen or noticable when the lantern is put together. The glass itself has some air bubbles but only visible upon close examination. The sloped top has several small dents in it. The two copper caps look very good and I do not see any dents or tears in them. The brass hangers and glass protectors have only age patina to them but otherwise perfect. The measurements of this lantern is 25 1/2" when hanging from the top of the hanging attachment to the tip of the bottom attachment. The glass is approx. 6 1/2" high by 8 1/2" around. I've taken this apart to show the insides of the pieces and the area where the electrical work was started. Also. When I ship it will come separated like this. On the top of both lanterns is stamped"Port Classes II& III" The one with the red lens is in excellent condition and the one with the blue lens is in good condition but looks like it has had some welding repair done along the top seam one side. Both have doors that open for easy bulb replacement. The both latch closed well. They are wired together with a 7' cord(can be hung up to 7' apart) and have a 10 1/2 foot cord with a plug coming from one lamp. The cords are not very old and are in very good condition but both have some sticky residue near the bottom of the lamps where they were taped ... moreto hold them in place. Each lamp measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 10" with handle down and 15" with handle up. These lamps will be packed well with care and insured.

Vintage Starboard Ship Kerosene Lantern Light Lamp Port Blue Glass Brass 21" BIG
Vintage ship's starboard lantern in a unique tri-plex shape. One of the largest I've seen at 21" from base to finial. 11" x 11" square with the typical curved front. Thick blue glass(not an interchangeable light filter) with horizontal grooves. Brass trim and a brass finial with hanging ring. Great"keyhole" vent holes throughout. Suffers from an untidy paint job and is in need of some updating. Missing original kerosene lamp and has been converted with a light socket. Needs new electrical cord. Brass has a lovely patina and there is still some vintage kerosene soot on the inside of this lamp. There is a small spot on the bottom by a switch of some sort that corrosion has eaten through the metal. But it's repairable and not endemic to the rest of the lantern. Glass is free of cracks or chips.

Vintage Red Glass Fresnel Lenses For Ship Light Or Lantern
This is for one vintage– antique red glass lens for a boat light. Ship light, shore light or lantern. It is in the shape of half of a cylinder. The lens is in the shape of a Fresnel lighthouse style lens. It is red glass through and through. Not just red on the surfaces. It is 7 3/8 inches tall and 7 7/8 inches wide at it's widest. It has an inside diameter of 6 9/16 inches. It has a molded in rabbit or stepped edge for mounting in the lantern on the top and bottom. On the top edge it has"Corning Made in U.S.A. molded in the glass. The side edges have grind marks from making it flat there. There are some small chips on the edges. There are no cracks or repairs on it. It came from Duluth, Minnesota. Duluth is at the west end of Lake Superior and has a large ocean going ship harbor. Antique Dietz Brass Maritime Dark Lantern Red Glass Ship Light
Here's a great old Dietz marine lantern in excellent condition. See Condition. From my research I believe it's circa 1917-1918. It's a dark lantern. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. The sheath has numerous cracks around it(as most do) and is difficult to push back down(thus, no photos of it) Size is 11 1/4" tall x about 6 3/4" across the bottom. Aside from a few minor dings I can't find any fault with this lantern. If you know old lanterns, you'll most likely conclude, as I did, that it has much less wear than one would expect. I believe this to be a vintage ship/nautical/maritime oil lantern in good condition. Made of copper, brass and a amber/yellowish tinted globe shaped glass w/ no cracks or chips. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. Antique Ship /Railroad Lantern Glass Globe Metal Adlake Kero Lamp
Metal with clear glass globe Ship or Railroad Kerosene Lantern. Canada 1921-1923 with numbers engraved on bottom. Adlake Kero engraved on the top. 10 by 6 inch lamp with a 4 inch high handle. Wick inside is intact as well as the wicks handle on the side. The bottoms wire like base is slightly bent. There is some rust throughout and a 1/2 inch long, 1/8 inch dent on the top. Very good condition overall.

Large antique Perko ship lantern metal/Green glass
This lantern is from my Grandfather's collection and unfortunately he's unable to give me specifics on it. This is believed to be a ship lantern but the globe has"PERKO" near seam. Measures approximately 20" tall and 10" at widest point. This lantern is solid. Weighs approximately 12 pounds. Needs to be cleaned up, it's dirty from years in storage. My Grandfather said it worked when packed up years ago, this is being sold UNTESTED. I have not taken this apart or done any extensive cleaning. The Globe appears solid but looks like there could be some deep cracks although the surface is smooth. The glass has a few scratches and chips. I've photographed all imperfections. Please ask any questions you may have!
