This auction is for a Antique Neptune maritime Nautical lantern light with oil lamp.This is missing the panel of glass that is where the latch side is. The total height is 15" tall. The base is 6" tall. The sliding oil lamp section is unmarked- it does original to the lantern. It has the Neptune tag on the front. This is fresh from an old New England barn and will need cleaning- I have not attempted to clean this up at all. The glass globe has a flake of the bottom edge. It looks to be the original but I am not 100% sure of that.One of the cage bars is slightly indented. I think this is copper(magnet does not adhrere to it) Thank you. This is a matched pair of antique marine lanterns made by National Marine Lamp Co. I think they were used to signal other ships but this is not my area of expertise. They are wedge shaped with one blue glass lens and the other is red. The glass is very thick and ribbed and in surprisingly wonderful condition. They each are also marked with"Lense Triplex Trade Mark Dec 20 1910" which I believe is referring to the glass lens only. The Red lamp is marked"MFRD by National Marine Lamp Co New York" and the Blue has an oval metal tag on the back that says"Geo. B. Carpenter& Co Chicago" I don't know why there are 2 different marks as the lanterns are otherwise identical aside from the glass color. Vintage Chrome Flag pole holder & Stern light GAW Antique Lamp Steam Punk Piece
I believe this is a Stern light for a vintage boat. The lens is clear. So the light would be white. It appears that the stern flag would fit in the hole behind the light. About 7 inches long. Rises up about 3 inches and is 2 1/4 inch wide at the widest point. The rear tip appears to have broken off and there are a few cracks that can be seen in the pictures. Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. I have up for sale a rare vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s Marine Division ARTISTIC BRASS& BRONZE WKS NY ship oil lamp lantern complete with original hanging bracket. The lamp is complete with the inside oil lamp with original chimney and reflector. The lamp stands approx 18-3/4" to the top handle and approx 16-1/2" to the top of the lamps upper section. It weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs and the bracket approx 3 lbs +. It is in Good as found original condition- normal general wear but no real issues. Some light surface rust that will clean off. This is a pretty amazing find. This ANTIQUE BRASS CANDLE LAMP HER MAJESTY’S ADMIRALTY SERVICE is believed to be from the early 1900’s or possibly even from the late 1800’s. There are plenty of pics to help you understand this item. The emblem soldered on the front says“ H M ADMIRALTY SERVICE. The bulbous bottom part unscrews to reveal a large spring. That is removed. A candle is inserted, and the spring& bottom are re-installed to continuously place upward pressure on the candle. That way, as the candle burns down it is continuously being pushed up. There is an old looking candle stub still in the top in the normal use position, we left it in place. You will notice a permanently attached bracket for hanging on a cabin wall or bulkhead on a ship. The candle lamp has a great old brass patina. You will notice solder at various places. Some ... moreappears to be from the original making of the lamp and a couple might be repairs or just sloppiness by the maker. None of the brass looks like it has been damaged. The lantern is in amazing shape for it’s age. The bottom is flat enough that the lantern can be used sitting on desk, table, or counter. There apparently was once a glass chimney but we never saw it. I would imagine the new owner could find one to fit if desired. We have never seen another one of these in 20 plus years of buying& marketing antiques& collectibles. Wonderful vintage Tung Woo. Hong Kong, copper ships lantern. This one is marked"Anchor. 9" high x 4.5" wide or 22 cm x 13 cm Some of the copper has"greened' and spread to cover other parts. I was able to wipe most of it off easily with a wet rag. This shows some wear and age. I have sold and shipped a lot of fragile items. Beautiful Bronze Antique Lamp for porch or wall
For sale is a beautiful antique lamp for a house. Restaurant or anywhere else that demands unique and handsome light fixtures. It is a hand cast and bronzed, I believe, lamp from the 30's or 40's. It has been wired, though the wiring would need to be replaced and there is no bulb in the lamp currently. The lamp stands about 8 1/2" tall. The diameter of the glass is 4 1/4" It is 7" wide total. The diameter of the wall wire housing is 4 1/2" It weighs approx. 5 lbs. One of the original bronze set-screws has at some time been replaced by a newer, bigger steel screw that has rusted and can be seen in the fourth picture from the left. The case that screws in over the light globe. The glass globe which also screws in and the back that the globe and case both screw into. The glass globe reads in raised glass"P C. CO. and also has a number too that reads"9-S-4971-L" and the globe has no broken glass at all. It is thick and domed. RARE Antique New England Whale Oil Ship's Lamp With Blue Fresnel Lens
This beautiful ships lamp measures approximately 16in.x9in. and was found in a seaside barn in Massachusetts. The lamp has a heavy blue/green fresnel lens in two pieces joined by some type of fiber caulking. The body and lens cage are made from a heavy metal and are painted aqua-green. There are a couple of chips in the seam of the lens but is otherwise fine. The overall condition is fair with some rust and pitting that could be cleaned and reprinted if desired. There is no sign of wiring so I assume this was meant to be lit by oil. I have never seen a similar lamp and can find no maker's mark. This is an original Morse Lamp signaler which was used to control a large light on the mast of ships to signal other ships within line of sight. The Morse Lamp is similar to the type of signal used on the Titanic to send SOS signals to the Californian which were distorted per the following: The Titanic's crew then attempted to signal the Californian with a powerful electric Morse lamp. But the crew of the Californian was unable to decipher the series of flashing signals. As the carefully timed flashes arrived distorted and jumbled. 1,500 people who died in the disaster could still have been saved even after the collision with the iceberg but the cold-water mirage made the ship's SOS Morse Lamp signal appear to the crew of the Californian to be the mast flickering under the stars or ordinary lights on deck.

This is a rare antique bronze conversation piece. Works wonderfully. Eyes light. Bulb in bronze pipe lights. Lamp hangs on the wall. There is a bracket on the back for hanging. There is a button on his chin where you can turn him on and off. Also a switch on the lamp cord. When lite his eyes are blue. You can change his bulb in pipe to also orange or yellow. I have white in bulb in at this time. Wood plaque that bronze is mounted on is in nice condition. The lamp measurements are 9 inches high by 8 inches wide.

Overall this is 10 1/2" and the glass globe. Case and brass lamp do not show any damage. It is a wall mount and the round wall mount area is 6" across the center. The elder estate seller(100 miles north of NYC) said his Uncle lived in Brooklyn NY and owned a tug boat decades ago and this is from the old tug boat. It is very heavy weighing 6 pounds without packageing and box. It was very hard to read but the globe has letters and numbers that look like"9S4971-L" but not positive of the numbers as they are in lightly raised glass. The brasss cage or basket area has no breaks and it reads numbers that look like"24CGH" or something like that is raised brass. The case also reads"R&S CO. which stands for the Russell& Stoll co) There is no other writing anywhere on this 3 pc set so I have no idea how old ... morethis actually is but it is very industrial. It has an extended piece on the side but no knob to turn it on or off and it looks like it never had one and would have been wired and utilized with an on/off switch from the wall(just guessing on that) Thank you for your patience with me. This stunning old lantern belonged to my parents. And has been in my family for as long as I can remember. I do not know the exact age or the original function. The high level of craftsmanship in this lantern is amazing. It appears to be of solid brass with a wooden handle attached at the top. The only place that a magnet will stick to the metal is on the fitting that holds the wick. There are two rectangular glass windows. The hinged door is opened by pulling up on a slide loop. There are two round silver metal reflectors on the inside walls of the lantern. The footed base has a bolt and nut for attaching the lantern to a surface. The Round knob that adjusts the wick is marked Dressel and the number 0. I believe that this stands for the Dressel Lamp Works of Arlington New Jersey. This lamp is from England. The John Scott name was very popular the English maritime days. His name was synonomous with aristocracy. It has no dents or major blemishes.
