Antique "Viking" Ship Nautical Maritime Oil Lamp Kerosene Lantern
Vintage Viking Kerosene anchor light. Not sure of the age but not antique. I see other Viking brand lanterns listed as true antiques but I don't believe they are or that this one is. Everything works. It stands 15" tall. 6 1/2" deep and 6 1/2" wide. The glass is all in good condition. No dents, breaks or flaws that I can see. The material seems to be all brass except the rolled edges and corners are brass rolled over a steel rod. This lantern is dirty and needs cleaning but i will leave that up to the purchaser, I am selling as found. This will make a beautiful display or actually use it! We were however able to identify that it is a binnacle ship lantern. The lantern is not made of any steel. Its all brass. This is so that the lamp will not interfere with the ships compass. Use your own judgment. And look at the pictures carefully. They probably date back to the teens or 1920s. The brass has been painted over with black paint. They both have been wired for electricity and don’t have their burners. Although their reflectors are present. They measure approximately 17” high to the top of the handle. And 7-1/4” wide. One lantern still has its mounting bracket. And the globe has a crack on the side(approx. 3” long) Also that cap on top is missing a small piece where it would attach to the lantern. It measures from the bottom to the top of the handle approx 24" and Width at the widest point is approx. 12 1/2" and weighs 15 lbs. It is constructed of Copper and Brass. It is Kerosene with a Red Lens to be used as a Nautical Maritime Signal Lamp. But I am not expert and am trying to give you the best description and details that I can. This is a great nautical piece in good condition! It appears to be complete. The metal rim around the top of the red lens is a bit loose. It has great patina. Extraordinary Antique Wooden Kerosene "Steam Boat" Lamp
Greetings. This is a remarkable very old wooden Lantern with an elegant white etching of a Steam Boat trudging full speed ahead through the high seas. Steamboats's have been around since the late 1700's. They reached their peak in the mid 1800's and continued on through the 1920's or so. I do not know the age of this lantern but suspect mid-late 1900's and also suspect that it was used on the boat that is portrayed. I could not find another one like it. This lantern is made like a barrel out of hard wood and is quite heavy, it measures 5 1/4" tall and has a circumference of 15" I believe the top and lining are made of brass. There is a very small nick at the top that does not detract from the appearence at all but I want to be descriptive. This is an interesting old lantern. Made from tin and with a glass lens. It reads BOAT SIGNAL LANTERN on the front. When you open the lens, there is a spring loaded lever that slides back to reach the burner. Mirrored on the back side of this. I see no maker marks. The lantern measures 8 3/4" in height and is 3 1/2" in diameter across the bottom. Original black paint shows quite a bit of wear, but the lantern is intact. Neat old lantern. Originally saved by my grandfather. This antique lantern was plucked out of storage in winter 2010. Features a 7 x 7 1/2 inch handle. Plus a dark red area that holds a kerosene lamp inside. The lantern overall measures 14 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide and deep. Was patented in 1913. 1915, 1922, 1923, and 1925. Awesome item for fans of maritime collectibles. Vintage Circa WW II Era Royal Navy Binnacle Oil or Kerosene Lamp Compass Light. The piece appears complete. It has wear, is dusty/dirty, lite rust a few tiny dings& some scratches. Overall it looks great for its age. Some burner parts look to be copper, brass arm that lifts,and I think reflector is zinc with the largest part being tin or steel. My best guess its tin. It measures about 6-1/4"s long about 5-1/2"s wide about 5-7/8th"s tall. This would be for sliding into a compass binnacle for lighting up the compass without illumintating the bridge. When we were researching this on the internet we found that the Royal Navy contracted to make these under a license with Alderson& Gyde, PLAYMIT and BEC.

Here we have an awesome antique G.V. Harnisch EFTF Grundlagt Brass Kerosene style electric captains lamp with the date 1842 on the plaque. Beautiful frosted glass globe with world maritime map measuring 16 1/2" tall x 5 1/2" in diameter at the base. It works and is in excellent condition with some crackling on the brass surface on the body of the lamp; I don't know why that is but it is a unique and wonderful antique piece of maritime lighting by a very renowned and old company based in Denmark who became the sole supplier of navigational equipment to the Royal Danish Navy in 1848.

Vintage Brass Kerosene Gimbal Ships Lamp Here is a great older brass lantern I found during my recent travels in northern Michigan. This beautiful lamp has a gimbal mount and a weighted base. It is self-leveling during movement over water. It appears that it has been polished but it still has a nice warm patina. The glass chimney is very nice with just a small"blob" on the upper rim. There is no wick but the adjuster works smoothly. The base is heavily weighted for stability when sitting on a table. It won't break my heart if I don't sell this item. I'll keep it and rig it up to become the coolest porch light in the neighborhood. A balloon cage ship's deck lamp made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Corporation of Brooklyn. New York. This company is still going strong- a 5th generation family business now based in Florida and under the name of Perko Inc. Perko is also the product name of this item. This lamp is about 22 inches tall. And the diameter of the cage is about 14 inches. The red glass ball is slightly larger than a volleyball and slightly less than a basketball. The fuel canister is in working order- the wick rises and falls with the turn of the handle. the vessel doesn't look to have any leaks. Check the condition report and the photos for the problems this lamp has. Brass parts as well as the majority ... moreof the metal being perhaps a galvanized aluminum or thin steel. Two sets of two loops on either side of the lamp- I would assume the loops are there so the lamp can be mounted to something. This nifty vintage lantern could easily be converted to an electrical lamp if a buyer would choose to do so; or. Leave it original using some lamp oil to fill the canister and fuel the light. The lantern will be shipped in a large box, perhaps even oversized by UPS standards so don't let the shipping cost surprise you.
