Antique Decorative Gas Table Lamp, Converted to Electrical with Period Shade
This lamp has been in our family since my grandmother but I have no idea how old it really is. She was born in 1897. The gas lamp was converted to electrical. Notice that the electrical cord is attached above the ornate glass globe. It is not attached at the base. The design in the glass is of clamshells. The lamp is 18” high. The base is a square with 4” on each side. The lamp shade is great I do not know if it is truly from the period when the lamp was converted to electrical but it is the only one I have ever known on the lamp and I am 65. The shade has 6 totally different panes of floral designs. The panes are 6 ½” from top to bottom. I notice what seems like a flaw in the glass that measures I will send this item via Priority Mail. A lot of vintage adapters. Sockets, outlets. There are 2 pieces that screw into a light bulb socket adding two outlets to the lamp and still having a light bulb socket available on the top. There is a pull chain on both. One is brown and one is cream. There are 2 plugs that convert an outlet to a light bulb socket. One is cream and one is brown. There are two outlet extenders that plug into an outlet and provide 3 outlets. One is cream the other looks to be painted white. The last piece is a screw in outlet that goes into a light bulb socket. There are some marked Leviton, GE, FH. I'm not sure of the age on the pieces. Look to be bakelite and vintage plastic. The first item in the photo the cream colored 3 plug adaptor has a standard 2 prong US plug on the back turning 1 outlet into 3. It is marked Leviton 15A-125V, The second item. The ... morebrown plug bulb adaptor is marked on the plug 660W 125V. It has a standard 2 prong US plug converting an outlet into a bulb socket. The item below this is the brown bulb adaptor. It has a standard US bulb screw that fits into a bulb socket extending it and adds to standard US outlets to the socket. It is marked 250W 125V for the bulb and 660W 125V for the two outlets. It has a ball chain pull cord. In the center of the photo is a GE adaptor converting a bulb socket to an outlet. It is marked 660W 125V, The next item pictured is the cream plug bulb adaptor is marked on the plug 660W 125V. It has a standard US 2 Prong plug adapting an outlet to a bulb socket. All the items came from the estate of a man who had owned a Electronic Parts& Service Shop in Hollywood during the 1960s- 1970s. All the packing boxes were stored in his garage for at least the last 25-30 years. He died about 20 years ago. I am not sure if these parts went directly from the shop into his garage. The jar has a crackled glaze that could be intentional or could be a result of incorrect firing or cooling when the piece was glazed. The lamp features a river scene which is very pleasing to look at. The lamp is in good usable condition. There is no shade. The individual who did the wiring did not compromise this antique by drilling a hole into the lamp itself. But chose to let the electrical cord fall down the back and through the carved wooden base. Vintage very large GE 1000 watt 130 volt Light bulb Electrical Lamp Mogul base
Found at a flea market in an old trunk was a lot of seven GE 1000 watt 130 volts light bulbs; this auction is for one light bulb; the trunk came from a local school that was closed this year. I suspect they were used at the old football field. They were wrapped in the original GE sleeve which was so bug eaten I completely removed them. Believe they are vintage(NOS) But selling as used. These are a huge GE Light Bulb. The original factory shipping sleeve is not included. The light bulb is about 13" tall and 6" in diameter. Could make a beautiful vintage industrial stand alone display piece. The lamp has been checked for continuity with an ohmmeter, but has not had 120 volts applied.
