It is very heavy bronze ... moreweighing 40lb and is 12" in diameter and 15 inches tall. it has a heavy clear glass fresnel lens a separate inner red lens which sits about an inch inside the fresnel lens. the red lens has a few cracks, but seems to be stable. the only marking that I can find on this is the number "3" stamped at the lug where the cord exits. this light is wired to accept a standard edison base bulk. The cord is 10 feet long and in decent shape, but is a little stiff from age. As shown in the photos, the cap flips open to access the bulb.

Huge Maritime Navigation Lamp(copper w/brass fittings for connection to poles) I have no idea where this is from- I am guessing that it is from Japan. But have no way to confirm. Measurement to the top of the handle is 24. The box itself is about 10" wide, but is about 14" because of the brass fittings. There is a small hole in the karosine tank. The only marking that is distinguishable to me is the Seahorse 3 on the side of the lantern and the No. 3226 on the copper. I really don't know the history of this piece. I am selling it for a friend who got it from a lady whose husband was in the Air Force(post WWII) He was a pilot and always brought things home. This was given to my friend by this lady. I believe this to be a vintage ship/nautical/maritime oil lantern in good condition. Made of copper, brass and a amber/yellowish tinted globe shaped glass w/ no cracks or chips. The lantern measures 11"H x 7.5"W and has a small removable oil lantern that enters the lantern through a small hole in the base of the lantern. I left the metal the way I found this piece and only cleaned up the glass globe. I do not see any reason why this lantern would not function properly. For sale is an antique maritime ships lantern made of copper and brass. The lantern is in fair condition. It is missing the burner. Plus. The globe has been busted and glued back together. It stands about 19 inches tall. The base measures about 9 inches ac ross the bottom. I don't know who the maker is. There is a plate with the number 44190 on the front. This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.

The clear glass Fresnel lens inside does have a minor crack. Barely noticeable(see pic) Please note, there are a few spots of repair on the housing as well, as show in the pics. It has been electrified and is more than likely meant to be hung, although it could look lovely on a table. It would look absolutely stunning all shined up, but I'll leave that decision to the new owner. It is believed to have been from the early 20th Century, very few of these are out there. It stands 14" tall(without handles) and 10" wide. It's a solid 28 pounds, so if you do plan to hang it, do so accordingly. Vintage Copper Ship lantern Original NOT reproduction. This was on a ship! Stern Co 1974 Double light front which is rare Has a few dents- nothing major. One on the top one on the back side.
