Large Anchor Brass Antique Nautical Maritime Boat Ship Oil Lantern Lamp 23" Tall
Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Please view pictures to augment my description. It is not electrified and it is NOT a reproduction. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. Awesome nautical historical item. I am not an expert on oil lanterns but will do my best to answer questions. This lamp came from an estate in lower Delaware near the beach. Huge 22" copper Masthead Maritime Ship Lantern Oil burner nautical antique
Huge 22" copper Masthead Maritime Ship Lantern Oil burner nautical antique This is a big piece. Measuring 22" tall(not including handle) width of about 11" The piece is painted but as far as I can tell the most or possibly the entirety of the piece is made of copper. The lantern is a forward facing type with mounting rings on each side, an access door on the back an a top hatch that looks down into from the chimney above. Inside the back hatch, the burner assembly is on a track and is removable. It appears to be an oil/kerosene burner with a large reflector. The glass globe appears to be intact. There are three attached metal labels or tags on the front. I will try to decipher them for you, due to age and paint there are partially legible. The top most says simply"Masthead" which I think is the brand. The middle one ... moreI can't really make out. Third one says: Covered by Patents, Comet" and"5072.

Here is a Large 8 inch tall RED LENSE REAL GLASS marked Corning on glass Nautical SHIP. DOCK, or PIER Nautical Light. This 8 inch tall lamp has a 3 1/2 inch tall RED glass bezile lense, There are only a couple of specs on the glass that appears to be in very good condition NO CRACKS. The base is 6 inches across and the light is very heavy duty. Not sure if it is military as it appears to be somewhat grey in coloring. There is a number 9-S 4473-L in raised lettering on top. There is a 64 inch heavy duty cord with some type of plug in socket end see photo 5. Not sure if from a ship, dock or pier. Not sure if it works or what type of power supply it used. Suppose it could be rewired. REALLY NICE CONDITION VINTAGE NAUTICAL PIECE. Not sure if it could have been from the RAILROAD? You can see some type of bracket that goes 1/2 way around photos ... more6 and 12. This bracket is uniformed to end exactly 1/2 way around not sure if for mounting on a ship or dock. This lantern is approximately 5.5" x 5.5" x 14.5" and weighs almost 6 lbs. All glass in intact with no cracks. It has a wedge burner. I have not tried to use it. It has been used in the past as there is soot at the top. Please see pictures for further condition. It appears shinier in the pictures than it really is. I have not cleaned it or polished it.

The older piece has very heavy obvious use wear throughout metal is smooth no ridges left. Both have wear are dirty and tarnished throughout. Both weigh 1 pound 14 ounces each so a good copy I would say. Could also be 2nd piece was handled less but my though its a copy. The bases are exact underneath so maybe just a replaced ball and stem holder.

Lantern has maker marks of"S.Co.Ltd. 1941" Im not sure if this is a ship lantern, railway lantern or what- I dont know much about these. Lantern is in great condition and all pieces seem to be there. Lantern measures 20" tall with handle extended up. The wick key is attached to side and wick turn knob works good. No broken glass on paynes and side door works good. This brass hanging bulkhead ship's lantern is a rare example of the workmanship and quality of Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. Birmingham, England, one of the largest and finest nautical lighting manufacturers at the turn of the 20th century. Dating to around 1900, the lantern has a detachable kerosene burner and hand-blown font. Except for the wick, everything on the lantern is original. Measuring 17 inches tall. Excluding the ring handle. The lantern is marked with a plaque on the domed top. It reads, Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. 121 Bishop Street, Birmingham. It is substantial. Weighing over 5 pounds. The lantern is 6& 1/2 inches wide and 4& 1/2 inches deep. The detachable kerosene burner is accessed by a side door. Which has a sliding lock and a ring handle. The back has an attached hanger for mounting. The detachable burner. Which can ... morebe removed for refueling, measures 6 inches long and 3 inches wide. It is held securely in place by runners along each side of the bottom of the lantern. The glass font is held in place by a turn-screw. Wonderful estate found matching pair of older heavy brass nautical ship oil lamps featuring a bell and a rounded base that rocks like a buoy. Both are converted to electricity and work well. The on/off switch has a large L on it(not sure what company this is) These are in very good condition and measure about 9" tall with a 5" base. GREAT LOOKING AND FUNCTIONAL. Antique Brass Nautical Ship's Lantern with Vintage Patina
Lamps are. For the most part, boring creatures. They are quite useful for reassuring yourself that there are, in fact, no murderous clowns hidden in your guest room, but when it comes to design, your standard, run of the mill lamp can be a bit yawn-inducing. Luckily, there are enterprising people out there that like to make lamps out of awesome things, hence how this Ship's Lamp was born. I am unsure whether this was once oil-burning, but regardless, electric is where it's at right now, due to the fact that we have it, however, once the zombie apocalypse happens, this lovely artifact will be rendered useless. I have a pair of rare vintage brass Perko marine ship's lamps or lanterns. They used to be kerosene or oil but were converted to electric. They are in wonderful shape with no dents or damage and everything is intact. they do however have wear that is consistent with age. Each lantern has a finger lamp inside that is removable as shown in the pictures. A 4 inch reflector/ mirror, and 3 glass panels. Each is also stamped with a brass tag that reads" PERKO Manufacturer's Reg. Trademark Perkin's Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Miami Florida USA" on the front and another stamp on the back that reads the same thing. They both measure almost 14" tall. one being about 1/4" taller than the other one. You can definitely tell that these gems were handmade. These are very cool nautical decorations or gifts!

This antique nautical gimbal candle holder has a fine patina and its frosted glass weather guard has very few chips and I could find no cracks in the glass. There is a slight stain on the glass that might be removable with a gentle touch. This hefty piece of history only needs a wall mount to step back into service. Offered for your consideration are three(3) antique brass cabin lights which were probably used on earlier sailboats. They are gimbal lights which means they will remain upright as the ship/boat rolls. Lights are 6" tall. Base is 3 1/2" dia. and stick out from the bulkhead approximately 5" They are wired for either 12V or 120V light bulbs and have on/off switches. I do not have the lamp shades but they should be easy to find and any boat supply store. These light are very unique, solid brass and would make a great addition to the interior cabin on your boat.

Mahlenberg at the end of world war two. It would have been replaced by a peacetime(non hooded) light. The vessel was bombed off Naples in 1944 repaired and sold private in 1947 She was wrecked and burnt in 1966 The wartime light was hooded to allow other ships to follow her but not allow aircraft to see the light. This ship was actually shot at and bombed by the axis forces during world war two. Real history here. She was named after the first speaker of the house in the U.S. This light appears to be bronze. But it is not. It is a ... moreferrous metal. It appears that the non ferrous top is not original. The light is rewired for 115 volts and may be plugged in and lit. Vintage Ship's Nautical Light ANTIQUE BRONZE/BRASS Ship light Stern? PERKO?
Here is a very old QUALITY made BRASS/ BRONZE? NAUTICAL SHIP LIGHT. This ANTIQUE NAVIGATION light has a 6 1/2 inch base across and is about 5 1/2 inches tall. This light has really nice AGED PATINA and is a GREAT SHOW DISPLAY PIECE. there ARE 5 base bolts with this light. There are no interior parts. The glass shows on only 1/2 side of the light which was probably for a forward facing deck light. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS FROM A SHIP MAST? There are no makers marks. Very HEAVY about 7 lbs. The glass has a couple of flake specs see photo3 that are normal for a light this age. There is not cracks that go through only the flakes. This is a great nautical ANTIQUE FROM A TIME GONE BY. RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. Antique Wilcox Crittenden Galvinzed Nautical Ship Lantern
Beautiful old antique maritime nautical ship lantern. Punch out design is indicative of Wilcox. Crittendon being the manufacturer. Glass has no cracks or chips. Bronze colored chimney is intact with no bends or and only very slight dings. Metal top ring is still in place. Most lanterns of this sort are missing the rings. Punch out design along the chimney is really cool. The zinc galvanizing, applied to protect the metal from rust has done it's jump. This lantern was likely subjected to sprays of salt water but shows very little sign of rusting. The only exception are the hinges on the bottom plate that were not galvanized but still work perfectly. There is no burner in this lantern but add one and it is ready to go. Could easily be make into an electric piece. Or use it as is as a great nautical decorative item. Posted with
