The lamp stays level at any angle. It also has wear to the finish with corrosion on several spots. So study the pictures carefully. Although most of the piece is made of brass I suspect the shade is a different metal, perhaps copper. I have not tried lighting the lamp(no oil) so I can't say how well it works. I am an old gal who purchased this at an estate sale. The old fellow was the nephew of the tug boat owner that this light came off of. He couldn't remember now long ago but he said'decades' I looks on eBay for information and found it was made by Russell& Stoll Co. It is 10 1/2" over all the the wall/boat mount area is a circle that is 6" across the center. It is very heavy at 6 pounds without packageing materials/box. It is in 3 pieces. The case that screws in over the light globe. The glass globe which also screws in and the back that the globe and case both screw into. The glass globe reads in raised glass"P C. CO. and also has a number too that reads"9-S-4971-L" and the globe has no broken glass at all. It is thick and domed. The case is thick metal and embossed"2406B" and"R& ... moreS CO. and has no damage. There is a turn knob on the base that is embossed"R& S CO. N.Y. Overall this is 10 1/2" and the glass globe. Case and brass lamp do not show any damage. It is a wall mount and the round wall mount area is 6" across the center. The elder estate seller(100 miles north of NYC) said his Uncle lived in Brooklyn NY and owned a tug boat decades ago and this is from the old tug boat. It is very heavy weighing 6 pounds without packageing and box. It was very hard to read but the globe has letters and numbers that look like"9S4971-L" but not positive of the numbers as they are in lightly raised glass. The brasss cage or basket area has no breaks and it reads numbers that look like"24CGH" or something like that is raised brass. The case also reads"R&S CO. which stands for the Russell& Stoll co) There is no other writing anywhere on this 3 pc set so I have no idea how old ... morethis actually is but it is very industrial. Large Anchor Brass Antique Nautical Maritime Boat Ship Oil Lantern Lamp 23" Tall
Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Please view pictures to augment my description. It is not electrified and it is NOT a reproduction. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. These are much more rare. Glass is unmarked but in great undamaged condition! Up for auction is a pair of 2 antique Maritime passageway heavy brass/bronze ship lights with cobalt blue glass globes with sliding doors and a handle for hanging. There are doors that slide on the lamp to open and close the cobalt blue glass globe. The base is all heavy brass/bronze and has a threaded top with moveable handle. On the top of the lamp it has a threaded fitting marked. 9-S-5010-L Type XXII Size B. The threaded top of the light has 9-S-2108-L. There is a gasket with washer and light socket inside, so changing the bulb is very easy. The cobalt blue globe is very heavy, please check pictures and measures 4 ½” diameter x 5” long with rounded bottom. On the rim of the cobalt blue globe it has Type H 2034 L P.G. Co. There are no chips or cracks on the globe. Underneath on the top ring it has 2099-L-3 and on the bottom section ... moreis 2099-L-4. The heavy base contains the sliding door to open and close. Huge 22" copper Masthead Maritime Ship Lantern Oil burner nautical antique This is a big piece. Measuring 22" tall(not including handle) width of about 11" The piece is painted but as far as I can tell the most or possibly the entirety of the piece is made of copper. The lantern is a forward facing type with mounting rings on each side, an access door on the back an a top hatch that looks down into from the chimney above. Inside the back hatch, the burner assembly is on a track and is removable. It appears to be an oil/kerosene burner with a large reflector. The glass globe appears to be intact. There are three attached metal labels or tags on the front. I will try to decipher them for you, due to age and paint there are partially legible. The lantern has been retrofitted with an electrical ceramic light socket although it does not come with a cord. Beautiful globe- would be a wonderful light fixture for any collector or nautical buff. Up for auction is a beautiful handmade antique boat model. Very nice detail. Wooden boat. Has a painted water line. Gorgeous lines. Needs glue on the front piece. And a repair in the rear as it has a crack and the rear of the boat is slightly lifting on top, but does not take away from the piece. Rigging is in good shape. Looks to have been wired at one time, as the lights on the roof are extremely detailed with little light bulbs. Inside the cabin is a chair a helm maps and charts a little pipe the throttle and a radio all nicely put together. Has little portholes life ring, air horn little wooden cleats and pulleys. I have a pair of rare vintage brass Perko marine ship's lamps or lanterns. They used to be kerosene or oil but were converted to electric. They are in wonderful shape with no dents or damage and everything is intact. they do however have wear that is consistent with age. Each lantern has a finger lamp inside that is removable as shown in the pictures. A 4 inch reflector/ mirror, and 3 glass panels. Each is also stamped with a brass tag that reads" PERKO Manufacturer's Reg. Trademark Perkin's Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Miami Florida USA" on the front and another stamp on the back that reads the same thing. They both measure almost 14" tall. one being about 1/4" taller than the other one. You can definitely tell that these gems were handmade. These are very cool nautical decorations or gifts!

RARE Antique Merrill Nautical Instruments Binnacle Lamp Maritime
This is a rare Merrill Nautical instruments of New York binnacle lamp in remarkable condition. I have been unable to find any other lamps made by Merrill. However Robert Merrill was a famous maritime compass maker from New York State in the late 19th century and I believe this may have been made by his company. It features an ornate chimney on top and also ventilation holes on the bottom. There are two handles on the back and a plate with the makers name. The lamp has the original glass and what looks to be the original burner. The hinge on the burner door needs repair, but does lock and hold closed. The lamp is beautiful with a nice age worn patina. Scarce Pair Antique National Marine Lamp Maritime Navy Anchor Red Globe Lanterns
Just out of a local house is this nice pair of Red globe maritime lanterns. Our lantern books show that they were called Globe Lanterns.Navy Lanterns, Signal Lanterns, or Anchor Lights. This pair was made by the National Marine Lamp Co. around 1900. The lamps are galvanized and measure about 15 5/8 inches tall to the top of the ring or about 14 inches to the top of the lantern with the ring folded down. It measures about 9 1/2 inches wide. They are both in good condition. One has a brass tag marked MF'RD by National Marine Lamp Co. New York. The globe has no cracks but has some paint on the surface and some light scratching. It is missing the catch for the bottom door and the font is missing. The other lantern is not marked with the makers plate. The globe has some paint on it and has some light scratching as well but no cracks. It does ... morehave its original font with the burner marked National Marine Lamp Co. This early lantern is about 8 ¼ in. high. 7 in. wide, and 4 3/4 in deep. The vent has a design similar to an early automobile style lights. A vintage burner is included. The brass is in good condition with normal signs of use and some additional holes near the vents(see photos) The lenses are good with no cracks, just some small scratches on the surface. Made of galvanized steel and iron this lantern was produced for inland waterways. It is about 11 high without the handle with a diameter of 6 ¼ in. A brass plate on the front reads: Hopkins 119 Chambers St. New York” The vents have unique tree shape cutouts. It could use cleaning but I leave that to the new owner. There is surface rust on the frame. The bottom cage rod was replaced, and the red globe is missing its bottom lip(see photos) This is another rare one for your collection. This solid brass lamp is fairly heavy and high quality construction. Brass does have some staining and tarnish on it and underneath has more tarnish that is green in color so it will need polishing this lamp. Cleaning and polishing of this lamp will be the responsibility of the buyer to do. Antique Peter Gray Maritime Nautical Red Globe Anchor Lantern Light Great Lakes?
Just out of a local house is this antique Maritime Ships lamp. It was made by Peter Gray around 1890 or perhaps earlier. The lantern is galvanized with old red paint. It has a Fresnel glass globe that is clear on the outside and cased with a layer or red glass on the inside. I have seen these listed in our lantern books listed as Great Lakes lights. Navy Lanterns, Stern, or Anchor lights. This light measures about 19 3/4 inches tall. 7 inches across the base, and about 7 1/2 inches at its widest. It is in good condition but has some oxidation, some damage where the bottom of the cage meets the base, and the lens has a chip. See photos. The font has an unusual burner marked Gray Boston. This is an authentic original nautical/maritime portside glass lamp enclosure that many years ago was fashioned into a simply put. Fantastic lamp. There is a socket on the inside that illuminates the red glass and I must say that it looks incredible lit up. Obviously there is a socket at the top as well that will require the lamp shade of your choosing to complete the piece. I chose not to clean and scrub the piece so as to depict the age and authenticity more clearly. This is absolutely not a reproduction. I believe this starboard red lamp enclosure sat atop a piling somewhere in some waterway for who knows how many years. Here's a great old Dietz marine lantern in excellent condition. See Condition. From my research I believe it's circa 1917-1918. It's a dark lantern. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. The sheath has numerous cracks around it(as most do) and is difficult to push back down(thus, no photos of it) Size is 11 1/4" tall x about 6 3/4" across the bottom. Aside from a few minor dings I can't find any fault with this lantern. If you know old lanterns, you'll most likely conclude, as I did, that it has much less wear than one would expect. Antique Brass Ship's Light Contains correct and highly sought after cobalt blue globe. A rare find. Cord including on/off switch is in good shape. Works as it should. Globe has chip to the lip that sits between the housing and lid. This chip is not visible when lid is on and light is lit. Both sliding doors(front/bottom) are present which makes this an even rarer find. It stands 12 inches high with about a 6 inch diameter. Antique Maritime Heavy Ship Light Lamp Deep Blue
Estate sale find. This is a heavy duty water proof ships navigational Blue lamp. It's 9 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide and the mount on the bottom is 7 1/2" across. The glass is deep blue and has some chips but no cracks. This would make a great lamp or art project. Or if you have a one bathroom home this could be lit outside the door in the cieling when the bathroom is taken. Just a thought.
