It has the original hardware on the drawers although some of the drawer pulls are missing parts of their swivel handles. The desk drawers pull in and out smoothly and have dovetail joints. There are some nice carved details to the front of the desk, but it will most certainly need to be refinished as there are a lot of scratches on it, and some stains inside the drawers as well. The desk is 30” tall, with the space for the chair being 21” high, and 17.5” wide. The desk is 48" long, and 18" wide front to back at most.

This desk has five (5) substantial drawers with the original brass bail pull handles, and five (5) faux drawer fronts on the back side also with brass bail pull handles. The measurem e nts are 26" deep x 38" wi de x 29 3/4" tall. The front drops down and in side is a writing platform w ith an inkwell hole. Pencil rest, and cubbies in t he back for en v elopes. Etc. To the right is a drawer which actually comes completely out. The hinges have been replaced on this front piece as well as t he glass kno bs. There is an old keyhole and the lock seems to still be intact. However we do not have a key. My husband had his computer on this desk and be cause the underside of the des k is open. He was able to keep the keyboard on the pull-out platform, and the wires fit right throu gh. The wood is oak and is in beautiful condition ... morefor being old. Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. 900- 1920's Solid oak desk. VGC, Very cool- This is an amazing old desk. It is solid Quarter Sawn Oak. It has been lovingly restored and is in fantastic shape. The dimensions are;40" wide x 35" deep x 30.5" tall The lower shelf gluides up as the top rolls back. This was for equipment like a typewriter. Adding machine, or dictaphone. The"action" of the roll top is very smooth and balanced. It is very sturdy and all the wood is solid. No veneer or plywood anywhere. I have appraisal and evaluation documentation from Wilcox and Hall appraisers. As for shipping. We will have to work out what's fair. I'll need $50 to crate it and I think freight charges will be under $200 not sure. I practically swooned when I saw this piece of furniture. This Queen Anne style is one of my favorites. With the cabriole legs in front and the straight legs in back. The hardware on this piece is simply gorgeous, but it is the patina on the old cherry that really knocked me out. Plus, it is solid as a rock, even after all this time. There had been a gallery around the top that broke in two places so I had to take it off-a loss but there is so much else dreamy about this piece that it is hardly missed. It was made by the Lincoln Desk Company in 1936( I believe) as the patent number is 1936113. The age of the desk is an educated guess going by the patent number. Nice large full size banker or lawyers desk that has 6 drawers in all including the center drawer. With two additional pull out writing boards. No keys to the center drawer but you can change the lock very easily. Original finish on the wood and this desk has turned pedestal legs. Minor normal wear, all good solid walnut wood with dove tial joinery and the drawers all open and close smoothly as they should with the exception of the deep file drawer. It is a little ... moretight but closes completely. The drawers all have original brass pulls. Overall dimensions are 60" by 34" by 30 inches tall and I have a glass top for this desk. Nice well made desk back in the days when quality craftsmanship was important to success. Beautiful patina reflects the age of this desk. There is a Lincoln penny or brass insert and a brass patent number on the inside of the drawer that I have pictured. Here is your chance to own a piece of history from an era gone bye. What a clever idea someone had. Take a completely refinished spool cabinet. That usually sat on a counter, and make a base for it, and now you have a desk. The condition is excellent. It has all the original knobs and hinges but the writing surface has been replaced. I have a solid oak stool that is a perfect height to make this piece usable as a desk. Wire brushed, and finished with clear lacquer to obtain a clean, industrial look. Long ago, it looks like someone added a metal top and casters to this desk. This unique desk has been Outfitted With a Fostoria lamp and wired into the desk to use the On/Off switch built into the desk on the right hand side. The desk measures 45.5" L x 23.5" W x 29" T. Each of the drawers is 20.5" L x 4" W x 2.5" T and has a space for a tag. The casters are 2" in diameter and the chair space is 30" wide. 30s Aqua Drop Leaf Desk // 20s to 30s sweet little desk with charm // solid wood
Lovely character desk painted a pretty aqua blue. The desk has two shelves on the bottom and a drawer on the outside. When it opens up there is lots of space for storing things. The lady I bought this from did a wonderful job painting it but for some reason the little drawer seems to stick. I fell in love when I saw this unique little desk. The color is so retro and cheerful. And very very rare to find a 30s drop leaf desk. It isn't perfect as some little edges have been painted over and there are a few little nicks off the paint but this just gives it so much more character. Measurements: 38 inches by 28 inches by 17 inches depth

While the desk itself isn't that big, the proportions of solid oak(with a tiger oak veneer) are massive. This desk is about as solid as they come and looks impressive.
