The original marking is hard to read as the piece was re-worked and decorated with repousse work in the Victorian era. The handle and possibly the finial were changed, or decorated at that time. The round engraving was added at that time. "Sigillum Georgii Orred” “ sign of George Orred” and a coat of arms. There are several dents visible near this, and more under the decoration near the foot. It sits a little forward on the table, like it’s pressed in at the foot a bit. See the photos. Princeton University Beer/Water Pitcher/Jug/Tankard w/School Emblem & Pennant
For auction is a Princeton University tankard from the Princeton Universtiy store. It is an orange-brown with dark brown/chocolate trim and handle. On one side is a Princeton pennant. On the otheris the school seal. On the bottom is printed. The University Store/Princeton, J.J. It is 6 1/2" tall, has an opening approximately 6" in diameter and a 6" diameter base. We are estimating the age as anywhere from the 1890's to 1940's. It clearly has some age on it. The pitcher has no nicks, chips, cracks, or repairs. The outside is in excellent condition. The hand painted seal and pennant and the background color are all intact and complete, bold and clear. The inside has a problem with gray-black spotting. I suppose it is the result of deterioration of the glaze, probably the acid from all that beer, but oddly enough the spotting ... moreseems to be under the glaze. There is some light, bearly noticeable crazing on the inside and on the base. At any rate, it is a great display piece. It would look fantastic on a mantel, shelve or in a curio cabinet. This auction is for a Lovely Collection of 4 Antique Porcelain Victorian Shaving or Barber Mugs. All four pieces are in good condition especially for their age. Which I believe date to the 1800s. There are no chips in any of the pieces. All have age appropriate wear and some loss to the decorations. You get: A white porcelain mug(3 1/8 inches tall) with gold stenciled name. I believe is is TF Stump. A porcelain mug with green coloring and a design of a cluster of grapes and gold stenciled leaf patterns. It is 3 3/8 inches tall. A porcelain mug with roses and an iridescent glaze. It is 3 5/8 inches tall. A porcelain mug with roses and stems and leaves. It is 3 3/8 inches tall. This mug has a gap separation visible on the underside bottom that was done in the firing process(see last photo) It doesn't show from the top-down view or go through ... moreto the inside. The cup has a green backstamp that is blurred but I can make out the word Germany. I believe all of the pieces are best described as shaving mugs although the green one with grapes might be considered some other type of cup. Belper and Denby Bournes Potteries of Derbyshire Vintage Flask "WILLIAM IVTHS"
A great vintage flask made in England. The pottery at Denby in Derbyshire England was founded by William Bourne in 1809 where a fine bed of clay had been discovered. The rich clay was already in use by the Belper Pottery and in 1812 the Belper and Denby potteries were joined. Vitrified stoneware(high fired) was used in bottles and vessels to make them impervious to liquid. High quality goods by Denby are still being manufactured today. This two-toned flask with a dour image of King William IV is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or flaws. The original cork is missing. Large ornate handle done in light pale green with the top edge trimmed in gold. Large base that is stepped and measures 6 inches diameter. The Pitcher is 12 1/2 inches tall and weighs 4 pounds. This beer mug is probably fairly modern. Maybe late 20th century, it is the most complex artwork, that I've ever seen on a piece of Delftware. It is marked on the bottom: Hand decorated Made in Holland Delft Blauw(or blue) The scene shows a wagon pulled by a horse which has stopped in front of a general store and has people gathered around it. Check out the wheels on the back of the carriage. There is a typical Dutch windmill in the background. It is a bright white glazed porcelain with blue design. Antique Mug Cup with Bunny Handle "I Drink Milk Every Day"
Here is a sweet little child's mug with a pink polka-dot bunny for the handle. Around the base is printed"I DRINK MILK EVERY DAY" There are 2 bunnies chasing on the front. This mug is pretty old. I would estimate 75 years or more. It is in very good condition with no chips, nicks or cracks. There is a very tiny dot of glaze loss on the tan bunny, about the size of the head of a regular straight pin. There is fine crazing over most of the mug. On the back, adjacent to the handle, there is a little smudge of purplish paint which has been glazed over. On the front rim, there is what looks like a nick. This is from production, it has been glazed over with the blue rim. I think for the age of the mug, it looks pretty darned good! Wouldn't this be a special gift for that precious little one in your life?

This is a lot of two Old Porcelain Cup and Pitcher. The small cup with the man with the mustash looks like a Toby but I don't think it is. It is marked hand painted and made in Japan on the bottom. It is only 3" wide from the left side to the end of the handle. And it is 2 1/2" tall. The opening on his head is 1 1/2" x 2" The Pitcher is about 4" tall, and the opening on the top is about 2" and he has no marking on the bottom. He looks like an old British man.
