Old Antique Pottery Brown Stein or Mug Unusual Rare Design
This auction is for a old pottery mug or stein that has been in the family for many years. I do not know the age but it looks to be from the early 1900's but I am not sure. There is no maker mark that I cam find. Part of the bottom is finished and looks like there maybe be a mark under the glaze but I can't make it out. The design on the sides is very unusual. Leaves maybe? The clay looks to be a light orange. The size of the stein is approx. 4 3/4" tall and 3 1/4" across the top rim. The condition is very good for the age. There are no chips. Up for bid is an antique mug/stein/tankard. It is yellow ware which you can tell my the bottom. It was identified on line as a piece from 1885 designed with embossed acanthus leaves. It was bought at an estate auction with several other pieces of stoneware. It is in immaculate condition but is crudely made with pops and straw lines. However the glaze is shiny with no crazing and there are no chips or cracks. It measures 5" by 3 1/4" Nice piece for a collection. Antique Brown Transferware Sugar Bowl This is a pretty Victorian style sugar bowl with a floral pattern. It measures 8" by 4.5" and is 5" tall. The condition issues are a chip on the upper rim which does not show with the lid on. And a chip and crack near the bottom of the piece(see photos) It is marked"J.H.W. Antique Transferware Lg. Cup/Mug, Brown. Border & Large Flowers 4 3/4" Diam 4" H
Antique Brown Transferware Large Cup/ Mug Not the usual. this cup has a beautiful pattern with very large flowers. It measures 4 3/4" diameter at the top and stands 4" tall. Holds 14 oz. The transfer pattern does not match up perfectly. possibly an earlier example before the technique was perfected or just a not so perfect job. It is charming nonetheless! The condition issues are a chip on the upper inside rim which is shallow but noticeable from the inside and two other flea bites at the rim and base. Warwick Pottery Co. IOGA brown glazed mug/stein/tankard featuring a monk or friar enjoying a hearty meal. Traditional tankard shape. Stands about 5 3/4 inches tall, bottom is 4 1/2 inches across, and rim is just over 3 inches in diameter. In very good antique condition with some light crazing on bottom and some white marks around the base- please see the pictures for condition. No chips or cracks. Toby mug Rockingham Harker 1840 brown glazed pottery 4.5 inch antique
This old antique Toby Mug is brown glazed and has age crazing inside and out. It is made to depict a raccoon hat at top of a pioneer man's head and an Indian with bow as the handle. It appears to be Daniel Boone. It is 4.5 inches tall and 3 inches by 3.5 inches at the bottom. There are no cracks or breaks but it has heavy age crazing. There is a medium drop of green paint on the bottom of the mug. Please see photos. The mug is signed on the bottom. See the photos. The crazing can be seen in the photos. Thank you for looking.
