A"ER" with a crown for the reign of King Edward VII(Reign 1901-1910) Also impressed'523' and'LCC' for London County Council. Measuring 8.5" to the top of the thumbpiece and holding half a litre. The rim of the pewter lid is a little uneven but otherwise in perfect condition.

Antique Stein Wow! This auction is for a really nice and VERY rare antique figural porcelain German stein. The stein is shaped like a rather creepy pig and it’s completely hand painted. It has a pewter lid with a porcelain insert on the top to make it look like the top of the pig’s head. I believe this is from some kind of animal set because I’ve seen other animals by this maker. But never a pig. The bottom is marked Thuringer and it has a crown and letter M maker’s stamp. It measures about 5-3/8" tall and is in excellent condition with no damage. We were able to date this back by the hinge and tapered glass bottom. This piece has a transfer on it of a tavern scene of 2 men and a lovely young lady that has been enameled. This shows great craftsmanship and is very sturdy. This measures approximately 8 1/2" tall and 6 1/4" at its widest. We are calling this shabby chic. There is a little wear to the lid from use. The glass itself has a few hairline scratches. But show no evidence of chips, breaks, or cracks. The enameling has a few scratches, but it does not affect the overall look of this great piece. Antique Beer Stein This auction is for a really nice and rather rare antique stoneware or pottery beer stein or tankard. It was made in Germany and the bottom is simply marked 339. It has a nice cobalt blue glaze on a grey colored pottery and all the way around it has different religious scenes– looks like it might be stations of the cross or something. I’ve never seen one of these have such religious imagery and it’s very large measuring about 20" tall. Really a nice piece and guaranteed old. RARE ANTIQUE LATE1800'S. EARLY 1900'S GERMAN BEER TANKARD LID STEIN Circa late 1800's early 1900's 4 liter beer stein with pewter lid. This is extremely large right at 21 inches high. And 8" inches at the base. Stamped on bottom in mold is"Made in Germany" No cracks, chips. or repairs and is in excellent antique condition. Pewter lid. The largest to be found. It is hand painted, and 3 dimensional. It has a gold band encompassing the stein towards the bottom. I asked a friend what the German words written on the stein said. He told me that his interpretation is proud castles, beautiful women, goldier wine from green meadows(something to that effect) Maybe someone can comfirm the translation.
