Antique 1850’s Large Purple Transferware Mug
This is a beautiful circa 1850’s Large Purple Transferware Mug with Village scene and Boy with animals. This does not show a maker but there is a“D” impressed near the bottom of the handle. A windmill is pictured in the village scene causing us to think this might be from Holland. The rim measures approximately 4 1/4" in diameter and the mug stands 6" high to the top of the rim. The purple transfer print shows beautiful. Crisp definition. Some crazing and a bit of staining due to aging. I find no chips or breaks to this item. ANTIQUE TRANSFERWARE MUG S.F. & CO. - LATTICE - Early to Mid 1800's -RARE
Very Rare Transfer Ware S.F. Co. Mug Lattice Markings on the bottom: IV 22 30) R(K K Fine hairline crack. From Jewitt's'Ceramic Art of Great Britain 1800-1900' first published 1878: Railway Pottery Established by S. Fielding& Co. in Sutherland Street in 1870 for the manufacture of majolica. Terra-cotta, jet, Rockingham, green- glaze goods and general earthenware, in all of which the usual useful, ornamental, and fancy articles were made. This firm introduced in the early 1880s a new feature in majolica goods, which they named'Majolica argenta' in which they produced a vast variety of articles of a remarkably taking, pleasing and useful character. This, as its name implied, consisted of a white body and glaze with the proper majolica colouring liberally and judiciously used either on the body or on the embossed decorations. ... moreThe effect was extremely pleasing. Some of the more popular and artistic patterns were'Shell and Net' Ribbon and Leaf' Daisy' and'Fan' and in each of these, the idea of the pattern was fully carried out on an infinite variety of articles, ranging from large ice-dishes and bread-trays to cups and saucers and al1 the minutiae of the table. One of the distinctive features of the majolica produced by Messrs. Fielding& Co. was the masterly and effective way in which they introduced. On some of their best pieces, hand- modelled flowers and foliage. Modelled and coloured true to nature in every minute detail, and thrown in graceful negligence around the bodies of the vases, they became such perfect reproductions that it was difficult to divest the mind of the idea that the roses were not fresh gathered from the tree and temporarily twined around the vase for its adornment. In addition to majolica. Which had been their staple trade, Messrs. Fielding& Co. extended their works. In about 1880, by adding the manufacture of a good quality of earthenware, in which they produced all the usual services and other articles. Among the novelties in toilet-set

3 diameter 2 7/8 tall If you are purchasing more than a single item. The calculator feature on ebay does its best and is occasionally accurate. The more you purchase, the farther off the mark the calculator can be. It's really pretty simple. If I click USPS as the best shipping choice for a single item, nearly always purchasing 6 will mean FedEx is the best choice. The Ebay machine tries hard but I'm the one to make the best choice for shipping a package after all is said and done. If shipping seems way off, just bring it to my attention before deciding not to purchase. If you make the purchase and the automated invoice looks incorrect, SAY something. Don't just blindly pay when that darned automated screen insists that you pay- pay- pay- NOW- NOW- NOW. I ship by FedEx and the post office. If it did, there would be no stores open anywhere in the world or else CS would have to put up bullet proof kiosks, right? As a shopper, your responsibilities, along with paying of course, include reading your email. Is your email address on file current? CS issues sometimes arise prior to shipping. Maybe the wind crashes a shelf and your item is broken, no longer available. It would be best if the seller could inform you prior to that angry email from you that says, Hey, where's my stuff? There are all sorts of reasons for a seller to contact you, things that don't come up in a face to face purchase. So, the shopping is easy, but check your SPAM/BULK filters for emails that could be imp

Antique Staffordshire Transferware Large Mug in Blue and White - "Abbey 1790"
Superb large Staffordshire mug in blue and white with the pattern"Abbey 1790" This pattern was used by a number of manufacturers. And features a ruined abbey beautifully rendered in a transfer. The pattern named is stamped on the bottom, and you can just barely make out the word"England" below it, dating it between 1891 and 1920. The mug is in excellent antique condition, with just one small chip on the rim that has been nicely repaired(see picture#4) As I said. The mug is large; it measures 4" tall and 4 1/8" in diameter and weighs almost 1 pound. It has the marks in the bottom that show the props that held the cup during firing in the kil. I did my best to capture the style and quality in pictures. And to describe the piece as completely as possible, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Please ... morenote that any errors or missing information is unintentional. I accept PayPal only. Please provide payment within 3 days unless we agree to other arrangements. Once payment clears. I will ship within 3 business days. No returns. If something is amiss. Please alert me by"Contact Seller" rather than leave a low rating. I want to resolve any issues rather than have my customers dissatisfied with their purchases.

18TH CENTURY TRANSFERWARE MUG 'THE BACHELOR' 'OLD MAID' UNIQUE!
When held as though to drink from it. One is looking at the image of an'old maid, dressed in her cotton bonnet and a draped collar on her dress. Turn the mug over though. And the image changes into'the bachelor. a not too attractive fellow wearing a sort of turban head gear. The mug is a delicate one. Not in fragility, but it is not a thick mug, and is quite fine and lightweight. It is a deep putty color and has the finest crazing I have ever seen. The finer the crazing. The darker that area, and it gets lighter towards the top, perhaps because the hot liquid disappeared faster from that area. And maybe sat longer in the nether regions of the mug. Both images are contained in a decorative wreath that has a bow at the top and bottom. The handle is generous and comfortable to hold, and has a little rim on each side. Kind of like'piping. ... moreExtremely old and in miraculous condition for its age. If one looks down on it from above. The mug is of a very small irregular shape. Which is quite endearing. Most likely from Staffordshire in the mid eighteen hundreds. Should you wish to combine items. Please notify me prior to payment. Thank you.

A Rare Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Mug ~ FLOWERS ~ c1820 NR
A Rare Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Mug c1820 ~ Flowers Pattern ~ Possibly Stubbs. Riley or Davenport ~ 3" high and 3" across the lip A really lovely dark blue printed mug of slightly tapering form with a square applied handle. Printed in one wrap around transfer of lush flower arrangements on a stippled background. Mugs with this kind of quality early transferware are so scarce, I doubt you will see another come around for awhile. The maker is unknown but the major Staffordshire potters to print floral patters were Joseph Stubbs, Riley and Davenport. This is unmarked but the quality of potting and printing is excellent. In excellent condition except for one section of the rim near the handle has a series of very. Very small pin size flakes and two small flakes less than 1/6" on the outside of the rim. I've ... moretouched those in with watercolor to make them blend in, this isn't a permanent touch up and could be washed off if desired. See the closeup pic with arrows for that area. There is some splashed ink inside the cup and yellowish kiln grit but overall excellent condition and display is a 10+. This auction is for the mug on the left(above) only. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Please see the other English pottery/ porcelain/ Historical Staffordshire/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed
