c 1800 ish silk chinese silk painting romance of the three kingdoms china asia
painting is 7 1/2 inches by 6 inches. The painting describe a story from'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' Which is a famous Chinese ancient novel. Lady whom stands at left side is queen"Mi" Baby is a prince,right side is a general called'Zilong Zhao' they are facing enemy's attack. Mi finally jumps into a well to commit suicide, because she does not want to become a burden when retreat, hoping her baby can survive. The upper seal mark means" Madam Mi jump into a well to commit suicide" the lower one is the painter's name. Qimin Zhao" I dont know excact age of painting but think it must be c 1800-1850 but am no expert. including frame painting measures 10 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. French Sewing Box c.1800 with Hand Painted Coastal Scene Please review payment& shipping policies before bidding. Details: This wonderful sewing box was made in France in the late 18th to early 19th century. The top is hand painted with a scene of figures at the sea coast. The edges of the box are decorated with fine painted lines and cross hatching. The main color is black with the border decoration in pink and white. In the bottom drawer there are little wooden boxes for thread. Each one has the color name in French on its lid. All but two remain. The bottom drawer has two slide out supports for thread winders. The winders are in disrepair. But remain in their compartments. This piece is in very good. Unrestored condition. There have been alterations made along the way. The blue velvet covering the interior is not original. There was ... morea center drawer at one time. The top section was made deeper so just the drawer face remains on top. It's attached only by the adhesive used for the velvet lining. I've left it this way to make restoring the drawer easier, but it could simply be glued to the box at its edges if you want to keep a deeper compartment on top. This is a beautiful box to enjoy just as it is. But would surely be worthy of restoration. Measurements are 11" x 8" x 6.5" tall. This is a what apprears to be a porcelian painted cameo of a famous picture. It is made from porcelian and hand painted with brass setting and a good pin on the rear. The top bail has broken off and replaced with a 14kt gold filled one. Everything else looks original. The cameo is large measuring 1 3/4 inches long and 1 1 1/2 inches wide. It has an old c hook on the back with a good pin in working order. This type of cameo is many times inspired by famous paintings of its day. Antique c.1800 miniature fine painting "Young Man" 12K gold brooch w. 2 sides
Amazing! intricate and masterfully painted- c. 1810"Young Man" in elegant dress. The background of the reverse is covered with fine woven hair. I am assuming that it was his, and tiny little seed pearl initials beautifully scripted, a few have come loose. The frame is 12K solid gold and has an old c-clasp on the back so it can be worn. and, a ring for pendant/show on the top. Both sides are under glass. It is not signed that I can see; it has not been opened. I see no evidence of damage or fading on the portrait.it looks wonderful for 200 years old! This is a(ca. 200 year old original painting, not a modern copy. The painting is framed with the original frame. The painting was modeled after one of the many paintings by Gilbert Stuart. Who painted Washington many times. Stuart opened a studio in Philadelphia in 1795 and produced these paintings in series, to meet the great demand. He was one of the most famous portrait painters of his time. The painting is not signed. I can’t say whether this is an original Stuart. Or the work of one of his pupils. Antique large oval charcoal painting and bubble convex glass with gesso wood frame. This is a beautiful victorian 1800's charcoal painting of young. Lady. The face is made of very tiny dots. The talented paintist. Shows facial expression. On the left side of the painting very smal piece, 1/2cm has a fold line, very close to the frame and it is hard too see. This antique oval and large frame has gesso work of beautiful roses and bowes. The frame is rimmed in black and also has a black rimm around the area immediately around the glass and in between is the gesso work on the wood. The large convex bubble glass is intact. This charcoal painting frame is in perfect condition. Measurement: 231/2 inches height. 171/2 inches width. Painting: 19 inch height. 13 inches width. This piece is highly collectable.

Up for auction is a beautiful large Victorian steamer trunk in original condition. This is a nice size for toys or linens or even a blanket chest. Measures 38" wide x 23" deep x 27" high. Beautiful details such as wood stripping. Brass locks, leather handles and a faux marble painted tin decoration on all sides. There are a couple of minor dents and the inner tray is missing but otherwise in very good condition. Someone could make a tray for this and repair the wood flap inside. The locks have not been damaged but there are no keys. Latches close tightly and nicely. Great old home decoration or perfect playroom storage chest! Local pick up in Plainville. CT. This is a very rare large antique Victorian vanity hand mirror with an original painting in center. made late 19th century. It is very large measuring 15 3/4 inches long by 4 1/8 inches wide. it is extremely ornate with wonderful gold gilded filigree detailing. has a long ribbed handle with a very detailed scrolled finial. the oval painting is done by hand depicting a victorian female. it has nice color and soft features with a realistic approach. the painting is covered by a dome shaped piece of glass. Underneath the filigree is a painted piece of wood done to mimic wood grain. the mirror is nicely beveled and has a gilded floral trim done in high relief. the hand mirror is in nice antique with an exquisite patina from age. the actual mirror has some ware but normal for this aged mirror. RARE INTERIOR SCENE FOLK ART PAINTING c.1800 CLOCK CHILDREN ROCKER NEW ENGLAND
This is really a wonderful sweet painting. I bought it in New Hampshire a few years ago at an antique auction. It has some provenance written on the back in pencil. See last few pictures with a note which I tried to figure out some of it. It was painted, it says, by a Mrs. Laura Brady mother of Mrs. Richard, belonged to Mrs. Charles Thomas of? was given to me xmas 1915" and some other name? It looks to be an early New England home scene. I think it to be early circa 1800's. So lovely with the babies and tall clock, fireplace blazing and the gun above, with rocking chair and spindles. The grand-mother watching over. The tea set all the details and the door open with birds flying outside. Super-size to see the wonderfulness of it. It looks to be oils on board.
