Offered is a Beautiful Antique Limoges Tankard/Chocolate Pitcher-Signed Olga Sorensen-Needs Restoration. This lovely vase is 11" x 3" and was hand painted by Olga Sorensen. I have found some information on this accomplished artist which I have listed below. The item is cracked all around but is stiff a beautiful piece and with the right restoration could be brought back to it's origninal beauty. Please contact me with any questions. All sales are final. Thank you and happy bidding. Olga Sorensen was born December 1877 in Denmark and died February 1963. She is buried in Nanticoke Cemetery. Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. The following is from a Nanticoke. Pennsylvania newspaper, July 7, 1924. Former Nanticoke resident Miss Olga Sorenson. A widely known artist, was about to sail from Cherborg, France on the SS Reliance to visit her sister, ... moreDr. Margaret Sorensen, and brother-in-law, Ove C. Schlanbusch, of Nanticoke. Departure was expected on 6 August and arrival in Nanticoke about 15 August. Miss Sorenson had an enviable reputation as an artist. With paintings in the Spring-Salon, Paris. She had also won special mention and favorable comments from French, English and American newspapers. In the summer of 1923 she had made an extensive tour of Brittany and Normandy, and had produced a number of landscapes and canvasses on the journey. The best local exhibits of her work were the painted stained windows at the courthouse, which were drawn by and Italian artist and painted by Miss Sorensen. She was also the artist of the soldiers' memorial Window erected in Kingston ME Church. A native of Denmark. Miss Sorenson came to this country at an early age and settled in Nanticoke. She recieved an early education in the local schools and later studied at Drexel Institute and NY Art Exchange Building in Wilkes barre, Pa. but left several years ago to continue her study abroad. The stein measures 5 1/4" tall x 4 3/8" at the base and 3 1/4" at the rim. This Antique. T&V Limoges stein is in absolutely fantastic condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs and there is no crazing. Over-all the stein shows only very light wear, typically isolated to the base and with very limited wear to the gilding on the rim. For your consideration is an old Limoges. France stein/tankard/mug. It has the T&V Limoges France hallmark on the bottom. It stands 5 1/2 inches tall and the base is 4 1/4 inches in diameter. This was made and hand painted in the early 1900's. It is a shiny black color with golden leaves, vines and grapes. There is some texture to the gold designs. In the background you see pale green leaves and purple grapes on a creamy background. The inside is white. A small imperfection appears on the gold handle. There is a line that is not as smooth as the rest of the surface. It must have been done during the firing of the mug. I'm not sure you can see it in the photos. It is on the left side of the handle. I am only pointing it out to be accurate in my description. There are no stains, crazing or chips. A few scratches appear near the ... morebase. Absolutely gorgeous Jean Pouyat Limoges France tankard. Although it is not dated I do believe this is from the early 1900's due to the quality of the artwork and stamp. Beautiful cream background with grapes in shades of purple and green and brown leaves. A dark green base accents this with the gold dragon handle. It is approximately 13" tall and 4" wide at the top opening to the end of the spout. Signed on the artwork by E. Vandament and stamped on the bottom with the green J. P. L. France stamp. It is also incised with the"559" mark and has a green"54" painted on the bottom. There is wear on the paint on the handle and one area on the base that I could find. There are no cracks. France, Hand Painted Cranberries w/Stems& Leaves circa 1890-1932 The Pouyat family was one of the oldest French names associated with the porcelain in the Limoges region dating all the way back to the 1700’s. Jean Pouyat began a company in 1842 at Limoges and the business was carried on by his sons after his death in 1849. About 1883, the company became known as La Ceramique. The now famous JPL backstamps were used beginning in 1851 and the specific one that is on this plate is called mark#5 by Mary Frank Gaston in Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd edition which was used starting in 1890 and continued until 1932. William Guerin Companies merged with JPL in 1912; this was further acquired by Bawo& Dotter(Elite Works) in about 1920. Antique Limoges Art Nouveau period Stein Tankard made by Tressemanes& Vogt of France circa 1892-1907. This Large tankard is hand decorated with an image of a"Mucha" inspired woman adorned with grapes and grape leaves. This particular tankard is hard to find but this motif can be more easily found on plates and other porcelain pieces. If you are a collector of this pattern then this may be your chance to get this highly desirable motif in tankard/stein form. Beautiful burgundy red, yellow, purple, green and gold colors. The background of the tankard is a light yellow with the interior of the stein being a glossy white porcelain. The base of the stein has a raised textured decoration. The gold painted background has been rubbed off on the right side near her face(see pictures) There is paint loss on the top rim. Antique hand painted porcelain tankard or mug marked"GDA France" on the bottom. GDA stands for Gerard. Dufraiss& Abbot, this mark is C-5 and began use by Haviland in 1900. The tankard is white inside, the exterior background color is very light yellow with hand painted peach colored roses, green leaves and vines highlighted with gold. The top of the tankard behind the roses is gold. The tankard measures approximately 5 1/8 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches in diameter at the top rim and 4 1/8 inches in diameter at the base. JPL Hand Painted Limoges Woman Mug Tankard Stein signed M. Buresova 1926
Very interesting large tankard. Stein that was given to my family approx. 35 years ago by a Czech family. It is a woman who appears to have some type of head dress on painted in reds, yellows& blues on a white background. The inside glaze is almost a pearl gold-mustard color. The mark on the bottom is J.P.L. France& Hand signed by M. Buresova in black paint& dated 1926 12/12. The rim midway between the front painting& back handle has 2 very small darker spots that are fully glazed but slightly pitted- no larger than 1/4" This appears to be part of the original firing. The tankard is quite large& holds 2 1/2 cups. No international shipping.

This is for a tankard that is marked on the bottom J. P. over an L France. It is signed under done of the leaves that is next to the handle E L G. There are no chips or cracks. The decoration—a lush display of ripe plums and foliage on a tree—is painted with rich colors: olive and grass green. Teal, smoky blue, purple, magenta, and tan on a background of aqua and cream. The plums and leaves look very three dimensional and almost jump off the side of the mug. I’ve looked but cannot find an artist’s signature. Note how the handle has been charmingly sculpted to resemble a twig. The beer mug measures 5 inches tall and about 4 inches across the base. Which spreads out a little as you can see in the photos. The opening at the top is a little under 3 inches across. The mug is in very good condition with no nicks or flakes to the painted image, and the gilt rim at the top is also in fine condition. ... moreThe little spots on the back of the handle appear to be tiny flecks of gilt or paint. There is a hairline scratch on the plum farthest to the right, which is barely visible to the naked eye and shouldn’t show when the mug is displayed. Under magnification I also see several tiny spots of white on the dark green base, which appear to be from the way the paint was applied. All these flaws are consistent with the mug’s age and do not detract from the beauty of the mug; I mention them only for accuracy. This is truly a striking display piece. Please look at all the photos which are intended to complement my description. On the bottom is the JPL/ France mark. JPL was the mark of the Pouyat Porcelain family.
